Who: EVERYONE EVER
Where: The Ballroom
When: Friday, March 28th - Monday, March 31st
Rating: PG-13
Summary: As an apology for all of the mess associated with the redecorating last week, the Red Queen has organized a party for everyone in Wonderland, and invited
The Story:
The ballroom's high, arching ceilings seem to reach up at least two stories above your head, despite the fact that there are definitely second and third story rooms above this spot. High, wide windows let in sunlight during the day; at night, chandeliers and wall sconces light up with so many candles, it's hard to believe the light isn't from an electric source.
In preparation for the incoming guests, the ballroom has been decorated in light, pastel colors. There are many streamers and balloons, and garlands made with fresh flowers that will not wither for the entire four-day duration of the party. Confetti floats through the air now and then, but upon closer inspection it is not paper, but flower petals. There is a long table set up towards the back with beautiful flower arrangements and more food and drink than anyone could imagine, including an abundance of cake, tea, and alcohol of various kinds.
There are smaller tables to the side if you would like to sit and talk or eat, but there is a great space open as well for mingling and dancing. Various kinds of music will be played throughout the weekend, though there does not seem to be any particular source - no stereo system or DJ booth to be seen.
But most importantly, the party will cater itself to what makes you, the guest, most comfortable. This is your night and you are guests of Wonderland. There's no need to worry or fear. The mansion will take care of you so long as you are in its walls.
(And perhaps, when the party is over, you won't want to leave at all.)
OOC: Hello and welcome! This post marks THE BEGINNING OF ENTRANCEWAY'S FOURTH WALL EVENT. Hooray! Before you continue, please take a look at the rules for this event. If you have any questions, feel free to make use of the FAQ thread in that post, even if you aren't a regular player here!
All posts made after this one are considered part of the fourth wall event (unless they have been marked otherwise!). You are free to use the mod journal's reading page to find posts to tag into, if that is easier for you. ♥
Also, either prose or [action brackets] in this log are perfectly fine.
Please feel free to advertise OOCly on plurk, and to all of our guests - welcome to
entranceway and please enjoy your stay!

Eway | Agent Washington
For the most part, he hangs off to the side of the room, standing awkwardly against the walls and occasionally brushing flower petals out of his armour and hair. The place looks a lot more...full, he realizes. More people than usual--is this how many people there are in Wonderland currently? He's know there are a lot, but...wow. Or are some of these maybe the guests the Red Queen had mentioned the other day? Hmm... He's curious, and tempted to approach some of them, but for the time being, he keeps more or less to himself and inspects the room.
Eventually though, he makes his way over to the tables with food and drink. He...really can't deny that it all looks really tasty. And even if the back of his mind is telling him that there might be adverse effects to taking part, much like the entire week had with the new installations, he still finds himself too hungry to stop himself. So, yes, that's a space marine decked out in armour eating a piece of cake, everybody.]

Agent Washington! Your helmet is off! That. Is really weird.
[Caboose kept his on, but that's partly because he isn't sure that there is air on this planet yet. Church would usually tell him about that.]
no subject
Well, I thought it'd make things easier for the party... [Case in point, the piece of cake he lifts up on his fork.] You can take yours off too, you know. Might as well enjoy some of the food.
[He still has no idea how he feels about this Caboose guy. He seems mostly harmless! Just...a little...weird.]
The cake is good. You know, if you want to try some.
no subject
I can't remember the last time I ate cake.
Or food.
[He looks at Wash, who is probably just a normal human and not a cyborg like Simmons or a computer program or whatever so. So if he's got his helmet off, he can probably do it too, right?
...He's still gonna ask.]
But what if I can't breathe? Or my eyeballs explode? Those are not things I want to happen.
no subject
He's about to invite Caboose to his own slice, when the other soldier looks at him anyway and...raises some questions. Questions that are so obviously unnecessary that they earn yet more staring. How many times has he stared at Caboose since they'd met, anyway?? A lot, Wash is sure. More than is typical, no doubt.]
Uh-- Those aren't things that are going to happen. I mean, [he waves up to his own face, which is breathing just fine with eyeballs intact, thank you very much] I'm okay. You will be, too. The air here is fine, seriously.
[A wave then to the table nearby.]
Grab some cake, if you want some.
no subject
And then she spies Wash. And that's a thing. That is a big thing. Somehow she didn't know he was here, and now she feels compelled to interrupt his cake eating.]
That looks pretty good.
shrEIKS
Connie?!
[His voice is a little strained, mostly from nearly choking on cake, but the amount of shock he's feeling certainly doesn't help. Connie. The last time he saw her... Well. It was before she'd ditched Freelancer. He didn't think he'd ever see her again, and now...here she is. The first person from his universe that he actually recognizes. And he's completely at a loss.
Thanks, Wonderland. You're really messing with his head this time.]
Oh my god-- I can't believe you're here!
[This is evidenced in how he's gaping at her, wide-eyed, jaw practically hanging open.]
no subject
Don't hurt yourself on cake.
[Which she is just going to grab some of from the table.]
Didn't we talk about not calling me Connie?
no subject
Wash continues to gape at her as she reaches for her own piece of cake, seeming to take little note of her comment. Who cares if he nearly suffered death by cake, Connie's here.]
Uh-- Yeah. Yeah, we-- Sorry. Sorry, you just caught me by surprise. [Also he'll forever forget to not call her Connie.] I didn't expect to see you here...
[Or anywhere. Ever again.]
