☾ the invasion of the cute and tiny
Who: Toothless and you.
Where: Inside, outside, anywhere and everywhere.
When: Anytime during the Puppy event.
Rating: G for now.
Summary: Puppies? What are puppies? Why are they everywhere? Oh no, why are they so fuzzy?
The Story:
Toothless' stay in Wonderland had been a short one, before the place had begun to change on him. He'd been adjusting well with Hiccup at his side, no longer swarmed with anxiety, and, though he tried to stay with his friend to protect him, sometimes he went off on his own for a walk or two. Never for very long, but long enough to get more of the mansion and its grounds into his memory. The woods intrigue him, but he hasn't tried to fully explore them. Not yet, anyway.
And then, one morning, he wakes up with small fuzzy things all over him.
The Nightfury's smelled their kind before, at other viking villages, but older and louder. These are small, quiet and full of drool, seemingly determined to chew on him and his harness. At first, he's annoyed by it.
But then, after a few hours of adjustment, and a restless nap, the dragon realizes that what he's discovered is an endless fountain of other creatures to play with. Creatures who don't expect him to talk or communicate, only chase them and hold still while they climb all over him.
He notices almost nothing else but the puppies, wandering all over the mansion with a small entourage at his feet as the puppies try to figure out what kind of strange dog he is. Every so often, he lays down and rolls around with them, and chases one or two around, until they all wear each other down and take a nap. And then, upon waking, the dance begins again.
Toothless is more or less entirely occupied, and might have to be reminded to do more than eat and sleep. He certainly doesn't really notice any other changes that come with the puppies in question.

tl;drs all over you
Taking to moving very carefully through the hallways, trying to avoid kicking any puppies by accident or tripping over them again, it's made getting around very slow. Not impossible, at least, but it's just one more thing adding to the pile of need. The need to fly. At least the sky can't be crowded with puppies, right? The only thing is, he has to find Toothless before he can get this beautiful freedom he so desperately craves right now.
It's been a few hours since he's seen the Night Fury, though, which has the Viking concerned. Toothless doesn't usually stay away so long, especially not while they're somewhere more unfamiliar. Only when he rounds one random corner inside the mansion does he realize what's kept the dragon successfully distracted.
"Weeeellll, looks like someone's made some new friends." He observes, amused, as he seems to have found Toothless in the middle of playing with all the puppies. This probably shouldn't surprise him, really. Laughing a little to see the dragon practically swarmed by tiny dogs, Hiccup folds his arms over his chest and raises his eyebrows. "You having fun there, bud?"
no subject
Which means the whole thing is open season for playing, and the look he gives Hiccup is immeasurably pleased. Look at what I found! he seems to be saying, as a Labrador puppy jumps on top of his head and yips excitedly.

It's one thing to go off on an adventure, flying there yourself. It's a whole other thing to be one place, and then suddenly, magically somewhere new with adventure thrust upon you.
So yeah. The fact that he's seeing Toothless rolling around and enjoying himself so much, it's nice. It even puts Hiccup a little at ease, and he can't help but laugh as one puppy jumps on the dragon's head.
"I hope you're not thinking about keeping them," he comments wryly, stepping in closer and leaning over to give some of the puppies attention. "I'll never get any sleep if all this is going on in our room all the time."

It's a bit rough, not having the other dragons around. He misses his full-size playmates. These will have to do, in the meantime.
Toothless ends the snort in a quiet whine. Why can't he keep them?
no subject
Toothless' whine draw his attention away from the puppy puddle, however, and he eyes the dragon carefully. Almost suspiciously, except the smile on his face ruins the effect he's going for.
"So you do want to keep them?" He asks, despite the answer being pretty obvious. Another quiet moment, more surveying the Night Fury and the puppies all around him. Hiccup puts on a show of it, humming and hawing out loud like it's an incredibly tough decision that he doesn't want to break on.
"Weeelll... I suppose, if you really, really want to, you can keep one or two." He finally 'decides', though his amusement is clear on his face. Even as he puts on a faux-stern expression and points a finger at Toothless. "But you have to take care of them, got it? They're your responsibility."
Obviously he'll help, if Toothless really does want to keep any, but it's all for the sake of the joke right now.

He lifts up his wings and several of them slide off, then lowers them back to the ground again. The same puppies jump on, and the ride begins again. Toothless just looks at Hiccup. Look at how good he is at taking care of them!
This is how you take care of them, isn't it?
no subject
"Easy, guys, easy." His efforts to slow them down don't really work--they don't really seem as comprehending as dragons--but Hiccup stays crouched where he is all the same. If the puppies want to use him as a playground too, well, that's okay for now.
Smiling widely, he looks up from the rambunctious balls of fur only to find himself meeting Toothless' gaze. Eyes trailing down along the dragons back to his wings, he watches the puppies slide. It's officially impossible to remove the grin from his face at this point. It's too much cute for one person to handle!
"Oh yeah, that's really good," he nods, getting the idea from Toothless' look. "That'll wear them out at least. But you've gotta feed them, too. Pets are a big responsibility, bud."

"Okay, okay hold it now fella." nope. Not holding it. With a solid little kick to his solar plexis there's another small yellow furry thing running for the big black thing.
Clint is not happy.
"Hey! Hey come back man. Come back!"
no subject
Come and get him, small furry creature. He's ready for you.
no subject
He barks, one, two, three before jumping forward as Clint tries to grab for him to be knocked to his feet by more of them.
"Lucky heel! Lucky stop!"

These certainly aren't dragons, though. Too fluffy. Maybe Hiccup can explain.
But for now, the Nightfury lets the pup hop onto the front of his face and only puffs little wafts of air at him playfully. Surprisingly gentle, given the size of him, but he's had practice with Hiccup.

"Nice lizard."
Lucky could practically facepalm. Silly pink toy this is not a lizard. It doesn't smell right. Instead he whines.

She was about to make her way into the gardens when a strange sight caught her attention. Bela shouldn't be surprised to see a dragon rolling around with puppies because she was in Wonderland, but the dragon looked so friendly. That was the most jarring thing about the situation.
Bela hangs back and watches the scene, making no move to approach.

He's warm in the sun, and happy to be there. None of the fuzzy creatures can hurt him if he's careful — and the most they can do is poke at his eyes, anyway, or chew off bits of his harness. With the undeveloped jaws on most of them, that last one is unlikely.
Toothless is so caught up in the moment that he doesn't notice Bela for several long moments, opening his eyes to look over at her curiously but making no other movements.

But then the dragon was glancing in her direction and she wasn't sure what to do. Not panicking would be a wonderful start Bela thinks. Don't give a reason to rile the dragon up was another one.
"Hi." Bela says finally, offering the creature a small smile. She doesn't know if it can talk but if the dragon didn't view her as a threat then it would work in her favour.

Then a white Husky tumbles off of him and next to his head, and the Nightfury is forced to shift himself or be blinded by fuzz. He makes a playful snort in the puppy's direction. Clumsy little creatures — but that does make them somewhat endearing to the dragon. For now, at least.

Bela laughs a little as the scene unfolds, hoping that it would help to relax her. She vaguely remembers Jesse telling her about a dragon he had befriended a while ago- maybe this was the very dragon he was talking about.
She takes a cautious step towards the dragon, a smile still on her face. "Having fun?"

So Alphonse is taking a walk to give his brother some space and relax a little bit when he happens to come across Toothless and his pack of playmates. He stops and stares for a moment and can't manage to stifle a laugh at the sight. How can he, it's too darned cute! "Enjoying yourself there?"
no subject
All in all, he doesn't look ferocious in the slightest.
