Who: Lapis Lazuli and you, friend.
Where: Around the mansion (or environs)
When: Pretty much anytime outside of events or other goings on
Rating: I can't see why this would get above PG
Summary: After settling in enough for settling in to get old, Lapis stretches her wings.
The Story:
[Since arriving in Wonderland, Lapis Lazuli has become a serious shut-in. There are a few reasons for this, but the biggest is a simple one: she does not like traversing the mansion's hallways. Now, she was already aware of the problem there, but the last couple events have especially underscored her need for a change of scenery, as well as how utterly freaking bored she is. The network helps and all, but at heart she's just not meant for the life of an internet troll.
Fortunately, the solution is also simple, and the room she's sharing with Peridot has responded to Lapis's need for a nice big window. (Okay, it's kind of more like a hole, but details!) She flies, after all. So, increasingly, she can be seen all over the grounds -- flitting over the gardens like a large wet butterfly, or making shapes in the fountain's spray, or possibly just flying endlessly in place against the go-nowhere boundaries for the heck of it. It cannot be described as enjoying herself, but at least she's doing something.
However... Here's the catch.
The mansion, from the outside, never looks consistent, or even identifiable really. And windows have never been strict about their locations making sense. This means getting back in is a bit more complicated. And that's why any room that has a window is subject to sudden appearances of a blue woman with wings made out of water alighting on the sill. Lapis doesn't particularly care what she's interrupting, and sure it's rude, but she's been on her wings all day.
If necessary, and depending on the circumstances she's arrived to -- i.e. if she didn't miraculously hit the right room, nobody's screaming, etc. -- she will speak up, with an unconcerned]
What floor is this?

[Very fun, very wholesome! Really, now that she isn't focusing too much on it, it's pretty pleasant, just letting the colors contrast against each other and fill the canvas. Of course, she keeps slowing down to watch as Lapis manipulates the paint itself rather than using a brush.]

[It's quiet, and not offended, but firm. Lapis is only vaguely picking up on the idea that 'monster' can mean something specific around these parts; she's seen monstrous things since coming to Wonderland, anyway. On a basic factual level she's not that. Regardless, only one person has ever called her a monster, and much hinges on her ability to believe that wasn't true.
She smears purple paint around more for emphasis.]

[Gems are the only other real being she's managed to get any knowledge of here so far- though she's not sure of any real way to tell if a person's body is made of light. She's fairly certain though, that most humans don't have blue skin.]
Either way, I think that this is coming along nicely! I am enjoying the patterns and contrasting colors.

Still, is Peridot seriously that popular? Lapis knows that some of the Crystal Gems had been through Wonderland before too, but still.]
A gem. Do you know Peridot too?

[Safe enough to say that she probably isn't around, anymore. Though, to be fair, Toriel never felt any reason to go out of the way and find her, so she's probably not the person to ask about that.]
Is this Peridot a friend of yours?

As she answers, Lapis goes to the closet.]
My roommate.
[Her first impulse was to get another color of paint -- pink, probably, but she doesn't actually want everything to come back to Rose Quartz, certainly not the guide she'll use to find home. She could follow the current topic and go with green, but she's not that sentimental. Then again, if she starts thinking of colors like that, are there any at all that don't have some kind of awkward association? See this is why she doesn't like to analyze her morp.
Inexplicably, what she comes back with is a roll of black duct tape. Lapis begins laying long stark bars of this at odd angles across the painted designs.]

[It's not as if rooms here are at a premium- so far as she can tell, there are tons of empty ones, so there isn't any real need to share a room unless you want to. Which Toriel would assume would happen if you were very close, but she seemed to deliberately not answer her question with a 'yes'. So... they're roommates, but not friends, then?
Toriel isn't really going to question it, though- it isn't any of her business. And really, she's more curious about what she's doing with the flag.]
That is an... interesting choice! I would not have thought to modify the design in such a way.

When she's done taping, she stands back and looks appraisingly at what now feels like a finished product. She can easily see the unease behind Toriel's polite attempt at praise, of course. Good. Lapis likes the effect herself, but after all, Toriel did most of the work; all Lapis did was build on it.]
You didn't do too bad.
[She begins rolling up the flag -- if it's dry enough to put tape on it can handle that -- and glances up to meet Toriel's eyes again, her own once more drily clear of any warmth.]
Thanks.
