Who: Lapis Lazuli and you, friend.
Where: Around the mansion (or environs)
When: Pretty much anytime outside of events or other goings on
Rating: I can't see why this would get above PG
Summary: After settling in enough for settling in to get old, Lapis stretches her wings.
The Story:
[Since arriving in Wonderland, Lapis Lazuli has become a serious shut-in. There are a few reasons for this, but the biggest is a simple one: she does not like traversing the mansion's hallways. Now, she was already aware of the problem there, but the last couple events have especially underscored her need for a change of scenery, as well as how utterly freaking bored she is. The network helps and all, but at heart she's just not meant for the life of an internet troll.
Fortunately, the solution is also simple, and the room she's sharing with Peridot has responded to Lapis's need for a nice big window. (Okay, it's kind of more like a hole, but details!) She flies, after all. So, increasingly, she can be seen all over the grounds -- flitting over the gardens like a large wet butterfly, or making shapes in the fountain's spray, or possibly just flying endlessly in place against the go-nowhere boundaries for the heck of it. It cannot be described as enjoying herself, but at least she's doing something.
However... Here's the catch.
The mansion, from the outside, never looks consistent, or even identifiable really. And windows have never been strict about their locations making sense. This means getting back in is a bit more complicated. And that's why any room that has a window is subject to sudden appearances of a blue woman with wings made out of water alighting on the sill. Lapis doesn't particularly care what she's interrupting, and sure it's rude, but she's been on her wings all day.
If necessary, and depending on the circumstances she's arrived to -- i.e. if she didn't miraculously hit the right room, nobody's screaming, etc. -- she will speak up, with an unconcerned]

What floor is this?
Window
It's the first floor.
[Nageki's room, specifically. It looks almost exactly like a school library, except for a small sliver at the back which contains a bed.]

[That's even further off the mark than Lapis was expecting. She even twists to glance out the window behind her, where, yep, the ground is a lot closer than it seemed like it should be. When she turns back her mouth is twisted with the beginnings of open irritation.
On the plus side, she does not, in fact, seem to care in the slightest about talking birds.]
Well, that's going to get annoying. [although her tone is bland and not all that bothered.]

Lapis lazuli?
no subject
Of course, this isn't a human. It isn't a gem either. Seems talking birds are a little interesting after all, or at least this one is, and Nageki gets her more direct attention in response to his.]

The fourth floor. How did you-- did you come in through the window?
no subject
[She's sitting in the window and has wings, it seems kinda obvious. So great, not only is Lapis apparently unapologetic about almost ruining Liz's painting, somehow she's the one being snide.]
They're being a little uncooperative.
no subject
They being ... your wings?
[It feels like rather a surreal question to ask.]

Window cuz why not
[The man inside the room doesn't appear to be at all ruffled by the appearance of a blue, water-winged woman at his window. He's reclining in a chair that looks far to comfy to be real, with a book dangling in one hand and a gramophone quietly tinkling out the middle of Chopin's Raindrops.
He'd think it apt, if he was really thinking about it at all.
After a moment, he actually looks at her, and lifts both eyebrows over the tops of his sunglasses.]
Are you lost?
no subject
I'm not, the place I was trying to go is. Have you ever tried to pay attention to what this building looks like from the outside?
no subject
[He gets up and moves to the window, unlocking the other side to lean against it.]
Didn't come into your considerations?

grounds!
They don't anticipate anyone approaching them from the sky. A silhouette passes overhead, like a bird, but the clear, watery shine of the sun off the outspread wings doesn't make any sense at all. Frisk stands, brushing soil and grime from their pants, shading one hand over their eyes.
Thankfully, there aren't very many blue people in Wonderland.]
Lapis?
no subject
She alights on a low branch of a nearby tree, mostly bare but studded with its tiny green flowers. Something about the action continues to be birdlike.]
Hi, Frisk. What are you doing?
no subject
They grin, offering a wave. Her wings are...made of water, it looks like. It makes sense, given her general theme, but it's still a unique sort of look, the watery shadow casting rippled patterns across the grass.]
Thinking of starting a garden. It's spring now!

This is what he gets for deciding to leave the window open, it seems.]
Third floor... is there, ah, somethin' you need here?
no subject
[Despite having caused this man to break something, somehow Lapis manages to be the one looking sardonic. It's not really him, of course, she just doesn't care.]
I can leave if you're in the middle of something.
no subject
[Or so he says, anyway... then again, he might be right, considering that whatever was in the beaker has suddenly turned an unnatural color and appears to be contemplating whether or not it should start eating through the floor judging by the way it's frothing a little here.]

She looks up from her book and lowers her reading glasses at the sudden appearance of a visitor, a bit perplexed.]
Er... I believe that this is the second floor.
Is there something that you need from me, Miss?
no subject
Only if you've got a map for the outside of the mansion.
no subject
[At least that answers what she's doing here. Got lost, apparently.]
Well, if there is nothing that you need, then perhaps there is something that you want! I have never been one to turn away a guest, after all, and it is only polite to show hospitality!

fountain
so while Lapis makes shapes in the water, Peridot drags large pieces of metal she's retrieved from the closet into the area with exaggerated grunting sounds, despite the fact that they're floating and not being dragged with much resistance. she just wants to be noticed.] I've been thinking, Lapis. What's the point of 'morps we only keep to ourselves? People should see our creative genius!
Re: fountain
It helps that Peridot is deceptively low-maintenance. Here, for instance, she is clearly going somewhere with this idea, and should have enough momentum of her own to get there regardless of Lapis's input. Which means Lapis is free to give it honestly.]
Did you just ask the closet for "metal"?
no subject
[it's not convincing, because she's terrible at lying, and she looks askance at Lapis to see just how poorly she is at convincing her. The answer is exactly what she expected.] ...The closet doesn't know what I'm asking for half the time, so I had to improvise.
[it took her ages to realize that the closet doesn't understand "leverage optimizer."]

oh no... i didn't mean to make you feel guilty......
And so, Napstablook inspires her to ask the question that no amount of talking animals or weird warped humanoids have managed, the question that many shy away from due to politeness but she only avoids out of apathy.]
What are you supposed to be?
