[open] We have a method for spies and intruders...
Who: Mirror!Zack aka Issac and YOU!
Where: Mirrorside
When: From May 14th to May 20th
Rating: PG13 due to kidnapping trauma, violent thoughts, religious undertones, and potential swearing. Will raise rating if necessary.
Summary: Issac sticks around on the Mirrorside, setting up traps for the stray Real things.
The Story:
[It all happened so fast. Issac remembers he was elsewhere, trying to reconcile with his adoptive father, before he was pulled into this strange land and told he wasn't real. That was a week ago, and now the Queen of this land is telling everyone to invade, attack, and steal, and he's not sure what's going on and why he's compelled to help.]
[He decides to stay on the mirrorside for now, since he did figure out a way he could punish the sinners...]
OPTION A: Ropes
[Issac usually prefers death traps to catch and release, but he assumes this queen wants the Reals alive. After all, it would be no good if the Mirrors don't have a way to return, would it? At the very least, he knows how to adapt to these situations.]
[He has lined the halls with snares and leghold traps, both metal and made of wire. Once the mark sets foot in one, they will find their leg caught between the iron jaws of a mechanism, or perhaps hanging off the ceiling by one foot. The force shouldn't be enough to tear a person's foot off, but some might find the trap to be a little too tight for comfort.]
[Doesn't matter. Unless you figure out how to escape, Issac's going to find you...]
OPTION B: Nets
[Near the middle of the week, Issac realizes his snares might not be enough to catch Reals who can fly, or perhaps those who know better. Plan B: Among the snares, he has planted taut fishing wire for Reals to trip over. When they do, the trap is activated, and within seconds they will be scooped up by a large net cleverly hidden from view. Have fun trying to cut through them. The nets seem to be made of metal as well...]
OPTION C: Cages
[Ah, here's another one. Issac walks up to his unfortunate victim with a gentle smile on his lips. His bandaged face and the rosary around his neck are the last things the victim sees before Issac slips a bag over their head. The victim will find they are able to breathe through it, but they can't see anything. This is for Issac's benefit, mostly. He figures he won't be as likely to kill people if he can't see their emotions.]
[The victim is carted off to the mirrorside's Chapel, where Issac has set up a holding pen for other unfortunate Reals he has captured. Here the victim will stay until their Mirror returns from the real side,
safely tucked away somewhere so that they won't cause trouble. Cry, scream, beg all you want. It won't help you escape.]
[However, he might have accidentally captured a fellow mirror or two, and he might let them go if he realizes his mistake. Perhaps some more crafty reals might be able to take advantage of this...]

nyanka.]

What one of the traps does capture, however, is one of the mirrors.
The metal trap closes on Gadreel's ankle with a dull snap, and the angel yelps as he immediately trips and crumples to the floor. He spends several moments pushing at the jaws of the trap, before he bites his lip, casts a furtive glance around himself, and... miracles the entire thing off his leg.
It clatters to the floor a few feet away and Gadreel scoots backwards, using the wall as leverage to get him back to his feet.]
I.. suppose I won't go that way, [He murmurs to himself, turning to head in the other direction instead.]
no subject
[Did he see someone will himself out of a snare? Issac stares as the other man kicks it off of his feet and walks away like it never happened.]
[Could this be some sort of magician, or...]
[He rushes up to the angel, carefully avoiding his own traps.]
Excuse me, sir! How did you do that?!
no subject
[A grimace. He tries not to get seen doing things like that as often as reasonably possibly. His fingers clench and loosen by his sides and he manages a nonchalant shrug of one shoulder that even his Real would be proud of.
The angel straightens his sunglasses in front of vibrant green eyes.]
Magic, of course.
no subject
[The angel might notice Isaac's hand reach for the rosary around his neck. Pure habit.]
Erm... What sort of magic? There are all sorts of magicians here.
[You had better not be practicing dark magic or fortune telling.]
no subject
... Celestial. [Gadreel volunteers, watching the other's face very carefully.]
I did not wish to be trapped, and so I was not.

[He carefully maneuvers around another wire. Kay can't be sure, but he thinks the traps are getting more frequent the more he pushes forward. They are getting harder to avoid as well, although he's done pretty well so far.]
[Despite his caution, Kay still ends up in a net eventually. He grumbles to himself as he struggles to turn around and get a better look at the net. If there's a weak point to be found, Kay will use it to free himself.]
no subject
[It doesn't take long before someone notices the man in the net. A sadistic laughter echoes down the hall, and soon Kay will hear footsteps coming from behind.]
Well, well, well. About time you managed to slip up, friend.
no subject
I take it this net is yours? I have a complaint about these wires.
[He watches the kid, taking in as many details as he can.]
no subject
[He seems to be enjoying Kay's misfortune.]
What's that, you don't care for them?
Well, that's too bad. I chose wires over rope so that people don't get any crazy ideas about cutting themselves out of it.
[There's a black bag in the man's hand, it looks large enough to stick a man's head into...]
no subject
You coulda chosen more comfortable wires.
[He grimaces when he catches sight of the bag. It isn't difficult to imagine what that will be for. Although... maybe that could open up a chance to escape?]

C is for Cages
[they stay corporeal as the bag covers their face]
um- sorry but i.... i'm.....
[they are put in some sort of... box? they can't tell. But the box starts moving and they remain corporeal. No need to be rude]
That's good enough for me.
[Whatever, he just takes the cage to the chapel and places Napstablook in the holding pen. He might have possibly tossed him in like the others, but the ghost was too nice. Too pure.]
It's a shame you had to end up here, spirit. I just can't let you wander around, though. You'd cause trouble.
[Such a sweet thing. Issac had half a mind to just let him be, but the Queen ordered the reals to be punished. This does seem to be a real.]
no subject
[Even with a bag over their head, held hostage in a cage, it wouldn’t do to be rude]
i’m napstablook….. who are you?
no subject
Isaac Gray. I think this is the only time we'll have to speak to each other in person, so it's really nice to meet you.
no subject
They nod.
“nice to meet you too, isaac…. do i…. need to stay in the cage or…..?”

Which is when the rope caught his ankle, yanking him up and off the floor and leaving the wizard handing upside down.
"Oh what the bloody hell is this? Who did this?!"
He's usually a live and let live sort of a bloke but this? Come on now.
W H O O P S
"Oh, sorry. Were the ropes too tight?" He grins, mocking the man dangling from the ceiling.
"Forgive me, but the Queen did order us to keep the Real things out of the way while they're here. I'm just doing her a favor."
... Someone tell him he accidentally caught himself another Mirror. Please.
no subject
"And yes, yes she did," Newton snaps, letting his weight drop, hanging straight and staring at the... man. Maybe a man. Who knew what that was.
"Which makes me wonder why you're assaulting Her Majesties own beings," he growls, waving his wand at the man. "Now, let me down before I decide hexing you is the best idea."
no subject
O H. Issac pales as the realization hits him like a truck.
"Sweet merciful God, forgive me!" he cried as he hurriedly rushed to undo the trap and safely let Newton down.
"I am so sorry, sir! I thought you were one of the Reals! The traps are meant for them, not you!"
no subject
"How do you just leave random traps? What if the person had been a touch more... aggressive than I am? You would well be nothing more than a smoldering spot on the floor," he points out, moving to his feet with a sigh as Newton works on adjusting his clothes.
"You need to be more circumspect. Spy on them. Look for the ones that look furtive, like they're worried about who might be around the corner... and then be entirely what is around the corner," he says with a wicked smile. "Look at you. Be their nightmares. If they're like my other? They will be screaming within an instant. Pathetic creatures, the whole lot of them."

B-lated, har har
AUGH!
[So concentrated on thinking up a plan, she hadn't realized where she was walking until it was too late.]
Oh no... Oh no. Help...? [...] M-my dad will be really mad if you don't let me go!
[no one has to know he isn't here, shhh]
WHOOPS.
[... Wait. Isaac knows that voice.]
Rachel?!
[Oh, no! What has he done?!? He quickly rushes over and releases her from the trap.]
Ray, are you alright? That wasn't for you, I swear! I am so sorry!
God, forgive me...
[He utters a mortified prayer, begging God for forgiveness.]
no subject
Rachel, [she corrects quietly. That other one was Ray. The one that was all wrong while Rachel was stuck being the one called the mirror.] I'm fine.
[It's true. The metal had dug in some and been uncomfortable, but it hadn't broken her skin anywhere. She rolls up her sleeves and offers her arms out to see if that calms him any. And to...maybe get a better look at his eyes. They weren't like hers. Daddy probably wouldn't be interested in them the same way she was.]
Um... I'm sorry... Do you work with my dad...?
no subject
[No, that would displace his "Real". The last thing the Mirrorside needs is an unfettered murderer on the loose. At least this Rachel seems nice.]
Ah, sorry Rachel. I...
[Her dad? Odd, the Ray he knew wouldn't speak of her family, much less her dad.]
You'll have to be more specific, Rachel. I don't remember you talking about your father before.
no subject
Oh, I'm wrong...? [But then how!! does he know her!!!] I thought maybe... You're injured, so I thought he might be helping you. Daddy's a doctor, he does therapy.
