Who: Cissie King-Jones and YOU
Where: All around the ski lodge (inside and out), and out in the snow
When: Duration of the event
Rating: G? Will change if necessary
Summary: Come play in the snow, or drink hot chocolate in the lodge after Cissie's pelted you with snow.
The Story: Cissie's out and about, enjoying the snow and the lodge for the first two days of the event. Come chat by the fire with her, or get pelted by snowballs! Or try to teach her how to ski. Day 3 will find Cissie preoccupied with arguing with Tim and getting lost in the snow with Kon.

Day 1 and/or Day 2

Cissie is as thrilled as any of the younger citizens of Wonderland at the prospect of a trauma free snow-and-fun filled weekend. She can be found inside the ski lodge, spending some quality time warming up by the fires with hot chocolate (and extra marshmallows), reading or playing games, or otherwise being friendly and social. If she's not inside, she is outside highly invested in the snowball fights, or building snowmen. She'll give skiing a semi-successful try, and will never say no to some sledding. She'll get soaking wet, freezing cold and will love every silly second of it. She might actually even act her age!

[Shit. His stepmother, too. She hadn't necessarily forgotten that, but given... everything else that had happened during that time, it had slipped her mind.]

...Yeah. That happened after. I'm sorry for not telling you, but Tim... I didn't want to hurt you. I saw you go through it all once before. And it's not like--there's nothing you can do. You won't remember anything when you go home.

So I don't even get to try? Cissie--what the hell?

That's not--Tim! [Cissie makes a wordless sound of distress and frustration, scrubbing at her face and shoving her hands into her hair.] Can you really blame me for not wanting to tell you something that's going to hurt you? That's probably going to make you close off and pull away and not let us in? Again? I can tell you about everything that happens to us, but you both act like we're all just friends forever and nothing's going to change that, but it's not true. You quit being Robin for a while, you know? Do you think you once said to yourself, 'gee I know someone who quit the heroing gig, maybe I should talk to Cissie'? Because I don't know if you thought it or not, but you sure didn't talk to me.

[He stares at her, jaw dropping slightly.]

I what?

[Wait, no, they can get back to that. He shakes his head.]

Why the hell would you telling me my dad dies make me pull away? Wouldn't that be when I need my friends? When terrible things happen?

Wouldn't it? [She shakes her head, looking down at her hands in her lap.] I can't tell you why you didn't let anyone in, Tim. I just know that you stopped. I mean... A lot of terrible things happened to you in a really short period of time. You kind of withdrew from everyone. You--might have been blaming yourself.

[Kon gives Tim a look, expression twisting sympathetically. He doesn't know all the bad stuff, but.... part of Cissie's justification makes a lot of sense at least.]

You do tend to go all bat sometimes when things get bad.

[He glares between the two of them.]

I am not Batman.

Not yet. [...She didn't mean to say that out loud, and she grimaces, scrubbing her face.] I mean, no. You're not. But Tim, come on. You can't say he hasn't rubbed off on you at all. You talked all the time about how he was the World's Greatest Detective, and you didn't show us your face until he said it was okay, and I don't know when you would have told us your name if the choice hadn't been taken out of your hands. I'm not saying it was wrong, I'm just saying... You can't say it's not possible.

I am not Batman!

[He's surprised to realize that he's raised his voice, but apparently that's just not bothering him very much right now.]

I know how to ask for help when I need it. I don't shut people out as a matter of course, and yeah, fine, I admire him, because I think he's pretty great generally, but I know he has shortcomings! I'm not going to be him!

[Cissie's a little taken aback by just how angry Tim is... not because he doesn't deserve to be angry, but because it's being compared to Batman that makes him this angry.]

Tim. You want me to tell you what happened, this is what happened. I'm sorry. If I could change it, don't you think I would?

Come on, Tim. [Kon also looks kind of taken aback, but he steps forward, expression softening into sympathy.]

We know you're not Batman. We're just... trying to keep you that way.

[It's obvious that he's surprised Cissie and Kon with his temper, so he grits his teeth, trying to rein it in a little.]

Uh huh. And not telling me things is going to help with that.

[Cissie clenches her jaw in turn.]

That's not what I was... I didn't want to hurt you, Tim. There wasn't anything more to it.

What exactly did you want her to do? [Not that Kon had even been the one not telling him things, but still.] "Hey Tim, good to see you, guess what, your dad's dead?" Would that really be better?

[Tim scowls at both of them.] That would be a good explanation if we hadn't been here for months.

[Cissie makes a noise of frustration.] I said I'm sorry. I'm sorry I didn't know how to dump a ton of bad news on you that you can't do anything about. Should I have said 'hey Tim, your dad, stepmom and girlfriend all die when you're sixteen,' have fun looking forward to that? Should I tell Kon that Lex Luthor's going to mind control him?

[Kon whips around at that.]

Wait, what? You told me the DNA thing didn't matter!

[Tim knows that the color has drained from his face at Cissie's words. His family and Steph? And what about Kon?]

[As soon as the words leave her mouth, Cissie covers her face with her hands. She didn't want to tell them at all, but she definitely didn't want to do it like this. She drops her hands after Kon speaks, and looks at him.]

It doesn't, Kon. It's not your DNA. It had nothing to do with who you are. You're nothing like him. And you snapped out of it. It's not your fault he tried to use you, but you stopped it.

[She glances anxiously at Tim, but stops herself from apologizing again. If he has questions, the least she can do is wait for him to ask them.]

Yeah, but it was because I was cloned from him, right? You wouldn't have mentioned it at all if it was just normal mind control.

[He's been mind controlled before. He will be again. It sucks, but it happens. But the way Cissie said it... this had to be different. And bad.]

Anyone can be brainwashed, Kon.

[Tim's still feeling a little numb from Cissie's revelation, but he can help with this much at least.]

It happens all the time.

[Gotham.]

There are other things I could have mentioned instead, [she mutters, reaching up to rub at a temple. This is so not how she'd thought this was going to go, but she supposes it is all her own fault.] I think it was the fact that it was Luthor that made it so bad for you. But you took it harder than anyone else did, and nobody blamed you. I wasn't--I shouldn't have told you like that.

[She glances at Tim.] ...Either of you.

[Kon looks over at her, still frowning.]

But you should have told us. I mean, what else are you keeping from us?

[Cissie's reaction is physical; she looks back at Kon sharply, and recoils like he's just slapped her. She feels almost like he did.]

Kon. Are you--you're kidding, right? [She looks at him, then over at Tim, and back at Kon again, her heart sinking. She's not sure if she wants to shout at them or start crying, or maybe both. Instead, she inhales shakily and lets out a harsh, unhappy laugh.]

Right. Because I know things and haven't told you, now what? You don't trust me? That is--that is really rich. And neither of you even have a freaking clue why. Whatever I might have to tell you? I didn't hear it from either of you! It's all second or third hand, or from the damn television! I only know about the mind control thing because Cassie told me after it happened, and you basically went into hiding because you were beating yourself up about it. You didn't answer any of the times I called you, and then--

[She cuts herself off. No. She's not going there. Not now.]
