Who: Caroline Forbes + OTA + Closed Starters Where: Everywhere When: August + September Rating: PG-13, anything higher will be marked Summary: Caroline has a lot to make up for, but she'll do the best she can. The Story:
[She peers over her shoulder briefly, as if she's going to be able to see him through the walls, before she turns back to Freya, taking the single step over the threshold into the common living area.]
Something like that. [She glances down at the floor, tucking hair behind one ear.] I made a pretty big mess of things, didn't I?
[Freya gives a small shrug. No one died, which is likely a low bar, but it's an important bar, at any rate.]
People do desperate things when they're grieving. You are not the first and you would not be the last. Make your amends, and I'm sure you will be forgiven.
I'm almost certain you're better at apologies than I am. Not that it's a high bar to set, unfortunately, but if you can manage to be sincere, it may not be immediate, but it will go a long way to soothe hurt egos.
[She nods. A great deal of time seems to have passed for her, and she knows from experience that it's always good to get some space in moments like that, but before she leaves, she at least wants to give her the option.]
I know I'm likely not someone you'd wish to talk to about these things, but I do know what it's like to make a great mistake because you weren't thinking clearly. If you'd like someone ... impartial to speak with, I won't judge.
[She pauses then, considering her words, looking conflicted about them and yet somehow relieved at the same time. Even if she doesn't take the offer, the fact that it's there helps somehow.]
Thanks. [She means it.] I just...need to get my head on straight first.

[She doesn't expect immediate. She doesn't expect anything at all, really. But hope is a good start.
She looks back over her shoulder where she came from, pressing her lips together before looking back at Freya.]
I'm going to go back to my place for awhile. I think that's...probably better.

Of course. And I am sorry, for your loss.
[But with that, she will head back to her end of the room and wait for when her brother is ready to be attended to.]
