+ Your Princess Is in another...Palace +
Who: Everyone!
Where: All over Wonderland
When: Friday, 8/24 - Monday, 8/27
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Palaces! This log is for Palace Rulers to post descriptions of their palaces, and for unaffected characters to wander in and out of them.
The Story:
Palace rulers: These are the characters who experience the bout of lightheadedness and spontaneously manifest a Palace starting at noon on 8/24. As soon as the palace forms, the character is essentially sucked into their Palace and made to play the part of the ruler.
These characters will forget they were ever in Wonderland or indeed had any other life outside of their Palace. If Character A's Palace took the form of her living her dream as a world-famous surfer where the oceans are made of cotton candy, she would always believe she'd been a surfer and that oceans have always been made of cotton candy. Any characters who entered her Palace would merely seem like visitors or intruders to the beach. Maybe they're surf fans, too?
It is possible to "wake" a Person from their Palace if one were to kill them (easy mode... if a bit violent) or make them see it's merely a mental construct (hard mode). If a person were to die inside their Palace, however, it would count as a mansion death. There are no real ways to "unmake" these Palaces other than to snap the person out of it or wait for them to run their course.
Palaces are tied to locations that characters frequent or find special meaning in. They do not outwardly change the appearance of the mansion--the clinic will still look like the clinic on the outside, but crossing inside takes you into the mental landscape of that affected character, and it may look however that player chooses it to.
Unaffected characters: Congratulations, you get to explore other characters’ inner world by visiting their Palaces! There is also a chance of danger should a character enter into a Palace whose ruler is likely to see them as a threat. Should Character A as described above not want a person there, sharks on legs might rise from the ocean and attempt to chase them off. (Sorry about that.)
However, there will always be a way to escape a Palace should you need to. There will always be a door leading back to the normal mansion, though no one else in the Palace will be able to see it aside from the unaffected character. If you entered the clinic and it's a barren hellscape, the clinic door will take you back out. Yay!
It is also possible for characters to see cognitive clones of themselves inside someone else's Palace if that person has a mental image of them. How these cognitive versions behave is, however, entirely up to the Palace ruler, whether realistic or not.
See the Bulletin Board for details on the event. You can also go to the plotting post to see what everyone else is doing!

MOLLY'S PALACE | HEARD YOU NEEDED MORE CIRCUSES
There's a door behind you, but it's half covered by what seems to be flaps- you can easily lift them up and exit from this space, but there's no other way out- even if you try to lift the tent at other places, you'll find you can't get your fingers underneath it.
There are no seats, just hundreds of people sitting on the ground surrounding the center ring. The ones in the front that press in with wide eyes appear to be wealthy individuals, although their faces are all blurred. They pass jewelry and coin to a tall, lanky half-elf in ringmaster's attire who catches everything they toss into his hat.
They're all enraptured and taken in by every con spun by the array of performers. A small girl with green skin and bat-like ears pirouettes awkwardly and snatches objects off the wrists and belts of the hypnotized wealthy and scurries off with her prizes. A man with ginger hair, dressed as a beggar, turns gold pieces into copper and hands them back to a roar of applause and then assists a woman who dances with fire by shooting a bolt of fire at her so she can absorb it into her two flaming fans, which light up spectacularly. Two half-orcs- a larger one and a younger and more handsome one- pretend to duel one another, and the younger half-orc lifts a hand and a barnacle-encrusted blade emerges from within, soaking the audience with salt water to shrill cries of delight.
High above them, on a platform a girl with blue skin and horns waves to the crowd and summons a giant lollipop which she dives down on top of and then slides down in a daring feat of acrobatics, while somewhere a small blonde Dwarven child sings a beautiful, captivating song and two halfling girls dressed in bodysuits and make-up that make them look like snakes, encircle the main tentpole, twisting their bodies to unbelievable degrees. A woman in blue monk vestments walks around the pole, twirling her staff in time with the music and doing the occasional leap and kick to aid the performance of a very familiar lavender tiefling juggling a pair of scimitars.
In between his juggling, he tosses coin to the people in the back who are more hardscrabble and common, who look more like they're having genuine fun, their faces more clear and bright-eyed and happy as opposed to the reaching, hypnotized wealthy. Observing all of this with her arms crossed is a pale woman with two-toned black and white hair who regards you warily and is the only one who regards you, even if she won't address you. You just automatically get the feeling she is waiting for trouble and thinks you might cause it.
If you choose to watch, you're welcome to get caught up in the spectacle and it continues on and on, occasionally repeating, but the one thing you'll find you can't do here is tell the truth. Any singular truth uttered in the room turns the entire room still and puts several globules of dancing lights over your head to pull focus to you. You can ease the attention away by telling a lie or a made-up story, but if you persist in being honest either in general or about the nature of the place, then things will turn very badly.
None of the other members of the circus will address you- only the lavender tiefling with the two scimitars, and he ignores you, for the most part, unless you're willing to commit to the narrative and make something up. It's a bit trial and error and some of the audience will offer assistance before returning to their wide-eyed gawking, but it's the only way to truly get his attention. And even then... well, there's no guarantee what might happen if he doesn't like what you have to say.]
