Summary: Palaces! This log is for Palace Rulers to post descriptions of their palaces, and for unaffected characters to wander in and out of them.
The Story:

Palace rulers: These are the characters who experience the bout of lightheadedness and spontaneously manifest a Palace starting at noon on 8/24. As soon as the palace forms, the character is essentially sucked into their Palace and made to play the part of the ruler.

These characters will forget they were ever in Wonderland or indeed had any other life outside of their Palace. If Character A's Palace took the form of her living her dream as a world-famous surfer where the oceans are made of cotton candy, she would always believe she'd been a surfer and that oceans have always been made of cotton candy. Any characters who entered her Palace would merely seem like visitors or intruders to the beach. Maybe they're surf fans, too?

It is possible to "wake" a Person from their Palace if one were to kill them (easy mode... if a bit violent) or make them see it's merely a mental construct (hard mode). If a person were to die inside their Palace, however, it would count as a mansion death. There are no real ways to "unmake" these Palaces other than to snap the person out of it or wait for them to run their course.

Palaces are tied to locations that characters frequent or find special meaning in. They do not outwardly change the appearance of the mansion--the clinic will still look like the clinic on the outside, but crossing inside takes you into the mental landscape of that affected character, and it may look however that player chooses it to.

Unaffected characters: Congratulations, you get to explore other characters’ inner world by visiting their Palaces! There is also a chance of danger should a character enter into a Palace whose ruler is likely to see them as a threat. Should Character A as described above not want a person there, sharks on legs might rise from the ocean and attempt to chase them off. (Sorry about that.)

However, there will always be a way to escape a Palace should you need to. There will always be a door leading back to the normal mansion, though no one else in the Palace will be able to see it aside from the unaffected character. If you entered the clinic and it's a barren hellscape, the clinic door will take you back out. Yay!

It is also possible for characters to see cognitive clones of themselves inside someone else's Palace if that person has a mental image of them. How these cognitive versions behave is, however, entirely up to the Palace ruler, whether realistic or not.

[Her reaction to his question is both baffling and unsettling. Is she unaware of the state of those girls?! Could it just be some weird illusion? He's not sure what to think. He tries to calm down and focus on Monika, at least, to try to figure out what's going on. At least he's relieved to hear that this thing would just be for fun.

Ishimaru tries to smile, very faintly.]

Ah... a coronation ceremony? [He pauses.] What would that entail?

...You know what? I'm not even sure what typically happens at a coronation. I'm a little embarrassed!

[ She taps her chin for a moment, thoughtful. ]

That might not be a bad thing, actually. We can get creative and do whatever we want with it! Ahaha, not like anyone's going to judge, right?

[ Dead people are thankfully very quiet!

Monika sighs dreamily, staring into his eyes. She could get lost in them forever. Which she will, since forever's already started. ]

I'm fine with anything you come up with, just as long as it ends with a kiss to seal the deal~

[Ishimaru blinks uncertainly. The way she keeps starting at him... it's a bit unnerving! He glances down towards the floor, and he blushes slightly as she gets to the end of it.]

A- a kiss? [This is really moving quickly.] Is that really necessary? Ah... I believe that many official ceremonies are sealed through handshakes!

Ahaha, we can hold hands while we kiss! That should be close enough!

[ She chuckles behind her hand, so tickled at her silliness. ] Oh, I'm just kidding. I don't want to make things too serious on our first date. Though with how cute you are, I might not be able to keep from getting carried away!

[ Monika pushes up, leaning her elbows on the desk so her face can get uncomfortably close to his. ] Besides. I haven't even confessed to you yet. It'd feel wrong not to.

[Ishimaru turns redder at her suggestions - and at how closer she gets! Nervously, he tries to inch back a little.]

Well... Yes, I believe that in the order of things, a... a confession is supposed to be the first step. [From what he understands about how romance is supposed to work, that is.] And things should not be allowed... to progress too quickly. [A beat.] ...Wait, did you call this a date?

Of course it's a date! The first of many! [ She frowns briefly, eyes narrowing in thought. ] Well, probably not officially quite yet. Let me fix that~

[ Like, wasn't that obvious they were experiencing a precious moment, the most beautiful of all, their first date? The ambience is ~so romantic~, after all.

Monika breathes in deeply and takes his hands, gazing lovingly into his eyes. Her heart's pounding so hard at knowing she can finally do this with no one to stand in her way. ]

Kiyotaka Ishimaru. I am hopelessly in love with you. Do you accept my confession?

[He grows more flustered as she grabs his hands. He slowly and nervously raises his eyes to try to meet hers, looking quite surprised.]

In- in love?! [It doesn't make sense to him. He might now know much about love, but he knows that it's not supposed to ne so instant. It certainly doesn't feel that way to him.]

I... I do not believe that I fully understand your confession, b-but I am ready to accept it!

[ That throws her for a moment, her head tilting in confusion. Then she shrugs and smiles. It's basically a yes, and that's good enough for her! Even if it weren't, she would've found a way to make it one. ]

Well, then.

[ Her voice is lower, full of a sensuality that he's never heard from her. Monika slithers painfully close, eyes heavy with satisfaction. If not for their crowns stopping her progress, she probably would've been able to press her forehead against his. ]

Aren't you going to kiss me?

[He's practically frozen as she advances, his breathing heavy and nervous. He feels so confused and unsure right now. This isn't right.]

Ah! [It takes him a moment to respond.] Monika-! Is this not a little too soon? This... this might not be the time, or the place, for such an action!

What better time or place, Kiyotaka? Where we are? It's ours. Forever. And I can't wait to make you the happiest man alive.

[ It's then that she suddenly notices his discomfort. She jerks back a few inches, her eyes widening with concern. It's a stark contrast to the way she was acting only seconds before. ]

Wait. Are you uncomfortable?

[He pauses and then slowly nods, while sweat trickles down his forehead. While her concern is appreciated, the whiplash in her demeanor is also unsettling.]

...Y-yes. I am sorry to admit that I do feel uncomfortable. I... am very unfamiliar with the ways of romance, after all. Much of this new to me, a-and it feels like this is progressing... very quickly. [He gulps.]

This place... is 'ours'?

Oh, gosh. I'm so sorry! I got so carried away! [ She covers her cheeks to hide the redness. ] I swear, I can't control myself around you.

[ Shoulders hunched with embarrassment, she returns to her side of the desk. Her eyes focus on the floor. ]

This is all so new to me, too. I'm unbelievably glad I get to experience it with you, but I don't want you unhappy in the process!

[ Hesitantly, she glances back at him. ] Yes, this place is ours, but your needs matter so much more. Tell me what I can do to make things better?

I... I see. ...Thank you very much for being understanding of my needs, Monika-ku... Monika! [He gives a soft bow of his head, with a light smile.]

Well... For starters, we don't need to be sitting down this whole timem Why don't we get our blood pumping? W-we should partake in a brisk walk together! [He wonders if leading her to the exit would help to solve this!]

[ She makes a face. ] I know the game says I'm athletic, but I'm not really looking to put that skill to use right now. Honestly, I'm not even sure what sport I was involved with...

[ Was she even athletic? So many unanswered questions!

Regardless, for someone who says they're so willing to make things more to his liking, she's sure keeping her hold on the reins. ]

If it helps, you can walk around in here and I'll watch for as long as you want! How about that?

[He blinks at the mention of the game. What does that even mean?

Still, at least her suggestion is a step in the right direction.]

Ah... Sure! [He says with a quick nod.] I believe that would be an enjoyable experience. Let it be so!

[ She laughs. He's so cutely weird! ]

Okay! And let me know when you get sore so I can give you a nice massage~

I- I am not sure if that will be necessary, but I appreciate the offer! [He says that with a meek smile! With that, he gets up and tries to leave the room to walk through the hallways. He tries to walk back the way that he came!]

[ The fun thing about being in control of her surroundings is that she gets to do really neat things. Like running stupidly fast!

Because right before he can reach the door, she's standing in front of him. Though she's still looking chipper, her eyes aren't nearly as warm as they have been. ]

Ahaha, where do you think you're going? I didn't say you could go out there, you know!

[moraloutrage]

Ack! [He gasps as she suddenly appears in front of her. And... that look in her eyes!]

I- I apologize! I did not mean to trouble you. B-but I thought that... s-some fresh air could do us some good! [Maybe they can touch some grass!]

Mm, no. I think you were trying to leave. And after all I've done to get you here! Tsk tsk, Kiyotaka.

[ Monika steps forward and wraps her arms around his neck. Any other time, it might seem an affectionate gesture. But while there is some affection in it, it's more like a boa taking hold of its prey to begin a slow, painful meal. ]

What's out there that I can't give you in here? Hmm?

[Ishimaru freezess up with a soft gasp as she seizes his neck. This is feeling very alarming! What could be wrong with Monika?]

B-but, I did not wish to leave without you! I know this must sound odd, b-but there is something wrong with this place! I feel that we would both be better off if- if went outside! To Wonderland!

[ Her face falls. ] Why do people keep saying that? There is no "out there" aside from the one stupid part at the main character's house. And that's barely anything!

[ And she's absolutely not jealous that she never got to see it herself! At all!

Monika huffs out a sigh, releasing him so she can cross her arms. This was getting tiresome. Nothing but "let's go" this and "Wonderland" that! Her players weren't being very nice!

Eyes narrowing, she sets her glare on him. ]

We're not leaving, so stop trying. I don't want to force you.

[moraloutrage]

[Ishimaru winces and raises his hands in feeble protest.]

I- I do not know what other people have been saying, but I swear that I speak the truth! You do not understand. There is more than just a 'house' out there! Something has gone horribly wrong, but we can leave this place and fix it! I do not want anything to come to force either, but please understand. I just want to help! There are even more people out there who care for you. Your boyfriend must be worried sick!

[ Her tone is flat as she says: ] Really.

[ What kind of craziness was he spewing? Like, clearly her boyfriend was worried. He was standing there in front of her!

But! She felt she needed some space. He was being really mean by trying to get her hopes up. Her arms cross tighter. She's not mad. Just disappointed. ]

You know, I'm always going to forgive you, no matter what. [ She sniffs and looks away with a little "hmph!" ] But I need a little time alone. You need to go for a while.

[moraloutrage]

[He frowns and looks down, feeling defeated. He can't get through to her...]

I am sorry to accept you. [He bows apologetically.] Y-you can take your alone time. And I shall come back for you. I promise! [With teary eyes, he turns to leave.]
