+ Your Princess Is in another...Palace +
Who: Everyone!
Where: All over Wonderland
When: Friday, 8/24 - Monday, 8/27
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Palaces! This log is for Palace Rulers to post descriptions of their palaces, and for unaffected characters to wander in and out of them.
The Story:
Palace rulers: These are the characters who experience the bout of lightheadedness and spontaneously manifest a Palace starting at noon on 8/24. As soon as the palace forms, the character is essentially sucked into their Palace and made to play the part of the ruler.
These characters will forget they were ever in Wonderland or indeed had any other life outside of their Palace. If Character A's Palace took the form of her living her dream as a world-famous surfer where the oceans are made of cotton candy, she would always believe she'd been a surfer and that oceans have always been made of cotton candy. Any characters who entered her Palace would merely seem like visitors or intruders to the beach. Maybe they're surf fans, too?
It is possible to "wake" a Person from their Palace if one were to kill them (easy mode... if a bit violent) or make them see it's merely a mental construct (hard mode). If a person were to die inside their Palace, however, it would count as a mansion death. There are no real ways to "unmake" these Palaces other than to snap the person out of it or wait for them to run their course.
Palaces are tied to locations that characters frequent or find special meaning in. They do not outwardly change the appearance of the mansion--the clinic will still look like the clinic on the outside, but crossing inside takes you into the mental landscape of that affected character, and it may look however that player chooses it to.
Unaffected characters: Congratulations, you get to explore other characters’ inner world by visiting their Palaces! There is also a chance of danger should a character enter into a Palace whose ruler is likely to see them as a threat. Should Character A as described above not want a person there, sharks on legs might rise from the ocean and attempt to chase them off. (Sorry about that.)
However, there will always be a way to escape a Palace should you need to. There will always be a door leading back to the normal mansion, though no one else in the Palace will be able to see it aside from the unaffected character. If you entered the clinic and it's a barren hellscape, the clinic door will take you back out. Yay!
It is also possible for characters to see cognitive clones of themselves inside someone else's Palace if that person has a mental image of them. How these cognitive versions behave is, however, entirely up to the Palace ruler, whether realistic or not.
See the Bulletin Board for details on the event. You can also go to the plotting post to see what everyone else is doing!

[Her small group of friends and it's been easy for her to admit that, talk about others and their looks. How people are.]
Monika, like I never even thought that. I'm just... I mean, I don't want that to happen to us, you know? Maybe we should go somewhere else. Safer, like the diner or something.
[Anywhere but where these dead girls are in cages.]
no subject
Monika's suddenly flustered, but coyly so. She giggles and waves a hand. ]
Oh, you're only saying that! Stop it~
[ She is wondering where Wendy got the idea she'd already sung for her, though. They hadn't even gotten to that part yet! She had a lot of practicing to do before that song was perfect!
As much as she'd like to push that curiosity aside, she can't. Now there's talk of a diner? She's going more in the confused sort of flustered direction. ]
What diner are you talking about?
[ It's not like they needed to eat. Wendy could subsist on love alone, probably! ]
no subject
Well, that was all. Until now.
Now Wendy feels the hairs on the back of her neck stand on end, and her stomach is queasy. Though she knows that could be because of the bodies and being jerked around somehow to get her into the seat.
Taking a deep breath, her eyes darting to the cages and then back because she worries that staring at them might upset Monika and something tells her that here, in this place, that would be a bad idea.]
Uhmm, sure. I can stop.
[Which is probably not what she meant, but Wendy is definitely stopping now. Though she frowns when Monika asks about the diner.]
You know. On the eighth floor. It's got great food and cool people. We should go there.
[Anywhere but here because... Duuuude.]
no subject
There aren't that many settings in the game! Though, I mean, I wouldn't mind a few mods. It'd be nice to having something new to do for once~
[ Gosh, she's sure met some interesting people. So thoughtful, but also kind of ignorant of who she is. Or maybe they think she's real like them? How sweet! ]
Still, I appreciate the offer, even if I can't really partake. It's not like I can eat real food. Ahaha!
no subject
Especially when she gets to that bit of humor. Wendy frowns, peering at Monika closely.]
Uhmmmm, why not?
[DON'T SAY YOU'RE A VIDEO GAME DON'T SAY YOU'RE A VIDEO GAME DON'T SAY YOU'RE A VIDEO GAME.
The mantra goes through her head. Blinking owlishly at Monika.]
no subject
[ In other words, video game! ]
Ooh, are you bringing this up because you want to have a romantic dinner with me? [ She sighs dreamily. ] I knew you were perfect.
[ She rests her chin on one hand, smiling like a lovestruck dope. ] Tell me all about how you want it to go.
no subject
But then she's not sure this changes anything. She saw her in the chess game, and now here so...]
Well, I mean, I would love to. [Yep, anything to get away from creepy corpses.] You wanna go now? I mean, isn't way more fun to do it than talk about it?
no subject
[ Now she's squinting with suspicion. She leans back, crossing her arms. ]
Are you trying to leave?
[ Because she does not like it when people do that. ]
no subject
Well, I mean, I was more thinking us leaving. Not me leaving. [Because that makes a difference, right?] Because they totally shouldn't leave you have to deal with all of this, you know? [Nope, not looking over there.] You're really... and you really can't... You know.
no subject
I'm getting so tired of people trying to leave. It's not possible. Don't you think I'd have left by now if I could?
[ She pushes away from the desk to pace around with agitation. Why couldn't anyone see she was trying to make a world for them? She'd let it slide the first time, mostly because Souji caught her at a weak moment. The second time with Kiyotaka, it wasn't great, but she could get past it. Forever could wait a little while.
But this is getting to be too much. ]
Are you trying to hurt me on purpose?
no subject
Wendy forces herself to take a deep breath, trying to remind herself of the things her father has taught her. How to save her own life from a bear. Which Monika is not, but Wendy suspects it is going to be the same way.
Watching as she paces, considering her options in this moment.
Slowly pushing to her feet, pushing the chair back slowly to try and keep herself on her feet and not pushed back into the chair again.]
No, Monika. Come on. Why would I hurt you?
[Which is true, except, she realizes, she's about to. Slowly shifting a couple of steps to one side, one back, lining herself up with the chair.
She knows this isn't Monika. It is part of the events that Wonderland plays on others. Which is why she really really hates what she is about to do.
Drawing a breath, she gasps, pointing at one of the cages. ]
OH MY GOD, WHAT'S THAT?
[Okay, she's bad at this, but then bears don't know what she's saying anyone.
She picks up the chair, moving to swing it hard at Monika's back, praying she doesn't hurt her for real for real. She's already gotten one person killed in Wonderland, after all.]

[ Her words are cut off by the yelling. Later on, when she had time to think about this, she'd be absolutely annoyed at falling for the oldest trick in the book, but give her a break! Wendy was already asking so many dramatic questions, she figured this was no exception.
It was an exception, yes. A chair to the back.
Monika lets out a strangled cry, falling to the floor as the pain blossoms across her back. Another thing she'd have to wonder about later? Where the hell Wendy was hiding all that strength.
Groaning, she makes a weak attempt at pushing herself back up and fails. It hurt to even breathe. It hurt her brain even more to try and make sense of what was happening. ]
Wha--?
