+ Your Princess Is in another...Palace +
Who: Everyone!
Where: All over Wonderland
When: Friday, 8/24 - Monday, 8/27
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Palaces! This log is for Palace Rulers to post descriptions of their palaces, and for unaffected characters to wander in and out of them.
The Story:
Palace rulers: These are the characters who experience the bout of lightheadedness and spontaneously manifest a Palace starting at noon on 8/24. As soon as the palace forms, the character is essentially sucked into their Palace and made to play the part of the ruler.
These characters will forget they were ever in Wonderland or indeed had any other life outside of their Palace. If Character A's Palace took the form of her living her dream as a world-famous surfer where the oceans are made of cotton candy, she would always believe she'd been a surfer and that oceans have always been made of cotton candy. Any characters who entered her Palace would merely seem like visitors or intruders to the beach. Maybe they're surf fans, too?
It is possible to "wake" a Person from their Palace if one were to kill them (easy mode... if a bit violent) or make them see it's merely a mental construct (hard mode). If a person were to die inside their Palace, however, it would count as a mansion death. There are no real ways to "unmake" these Palaces other than to snap the person out of it or wait for them to run their course.
Palaces are tied to locations that characters frequent or find special meaning in. They do not outwardly change the appearance of the mansion--the clinic will still look like the clinic on the outside, but crossing inside takes you into the mental landscape of that affected character, and it may look however that player chooses it to.
Unaffected characters: Congratulations, you get to explore other characters’ inner world by visiting their Palaces! There is also a chance of danger should a character enter into a Palace whose ruler is likely to see them as a threat. Should Character A as described above not want a person there, sharks on legs might rise from the ocean and attempt to chase them off. (Sorry about that.)
However, there will always be a way to escape a Palace should you need to. There will always be a door leading back to the normal mansion, though no one else in the Palace will be able to see it aside from the unaffected character. If you entered the clinic and it's a barren hellscape, the clinic door will take you back out. Yay!
It is also possible for characters to see cognitive clones of themselves inside someone else's Palace if that person has a mental image of them. How these cognitive versions behave is, however, entirely up to the Palace ruler, whether realistic or not.
See the Bulletin Board for details on the event. You can also go to the plotting post to see what everyone else is doing!

Right when Papyrus throws his bones, Mettaton kicks a leg out and strikes it against the door. Between the two of them the door buckles and groans, relenting after a very short-lived resistance. It's open now, and what lies beyond is an inky blackness that would set the hair on the back of Mettaton's neck to stand if he had any there.
"...well that doesn't look good."
no subject
It sure is his room all right. If you don't count the fact that there are no walls and everything is surrounded by a dark void, apparently.
He squints and shakes his head, resisting the urge to rattle his bones. "NNNNNNNNNNOPE. THAT'S NOT OKAY."
He quickly marches into the room without a second thought, slowly starting to inspect the furniture for anything else that's surprisingly suspicious. Everything seems to be okay...
Moving on to the pitch darkness that makes up the walls, Papyrus quickly reaches a hand out into the void. He needs to act with confidence and swiftness here if he actually wants to proceed - there's no time for second guessing! "SANS, TAKING OUT ALL OF THE WALLS IN YOUR ROOM WAS A HORRIBLE CHOICE!!" he starts yelling into the void, hoping that his nagging will somehow reveal his brother. "COME OUT HERE IMMEDIATELY AND EXPLAIN YOURSELF!!!"
no subject
Mettaton almost jumps out of his plating when Papyrus starts to yell. He can't help a small chuckle though at the pretty mundane complaints about Sans's supposed "decoration" choices.
"Your brother is right, darling, I know you're not the best at what counts as 'beautiful' but this is a new low, even for you."
He calls out into the darkness too, looking around curiously... and then seeing a distant light.
"Papyrus." He points. "Do you see that?"
no subject
Somehow, throughout all of this darkness, there is a light. Are their eyes playing tricks on them? Is this just an illusion or is there really a light in the distance? Honestly, knowing Sans, it's a toss up. It might be a prank.
Then again, after having another look around the room, this was...probably not a prank. If it was, then he has some choice words for his brother, but that's neither here nor there for now.
"WHAT'S A LIGHT DOING HERE...?" he mumbles, arm outstretched, as if he can somehow catch the light in his hand. This is getting weirder and weirder.
He looks down to his feet, and carefully lifts one over the void. Fully expecting that this void is more like a bottomless pit, he is very surprised when he finds that his foot still feels like it's hit solid ground. He takes another step into the void and pauses before turning to Mettaton with confidence (mostly to hide the fact that he's actually pretty scared of somehow falling into the void).
"I THINK WE CAN ACTUALLY WALK ON THIS!! EVEN THOUGH THIS FEELS...VERY WEIRD," he states, stomping his foot onto the...void-ground for emphasis. He holds out a hand to Mettaton, just in case he's feeling nervous about this whole...walking on the void thing too. "YOU SHOULD TRY IT OUT!!"
no subject
His name slips out of Mettaton's mouth in alarm as the skeleton just puts his foot into the void. It seems to hit a solid patch and he watches, nervous, as Papyrus steps fully into it all.
"Are you sure you're all right?"
He stares at the hand outstretched to him and for a moment he considers just turning tail and running. Something feels so, so off about this place and in the end, really, who better to save Sans than his brother? Papyrus means more to him anyway, right?
Mettaton shakes his head, trying to clear those thoughts away. That's stupid. Just because Papyrus and Sans are family and go further back than just Wonderland doesn't make the things he and Sans built here any less. He takes Papyrus's hand, delicately stepping into the darkness to stand beside him.
"This is... very strange."
no subject
Fortunately that light is still glittering in the distance.
no subject
"YOU CAN SAY THAT AGAIN," Papyrus says as soon as he feels that the rumbling isn't going to completely engulf them or do anything else dangerous. "SANS HAS ALWAYS BEEN VERY ODD, BUT I THINK THIS IS TAKING THINGS A LITTLE BIT TOO FAR???"
He looks on and notices that the light is still there in the distance. It looks welcoming, in a way.
Welp. There's only one way to go!
He turns back to Mettaton and smiles, as if he's completely blowing over the earth shaking noise from earlier. "LET'S GO, METTATON!! TO...WHATEVER THAT LIGHT SOURCE IS!!!"
