OPEN } big adventures tons of fun a beautiful heart faithful and strong
Who: My Little Phonies
Where: All around the mansion
When: 10/19 - 10/21
Rating: THIS IS A CHILDREN'S SHOW
Summary: Starlight Glimmer is making poor life choices. Everyone else gets to suffer now.
The Story:
Maybe you're outside, enjoying the fall weather. Maybe you're in the kitchen, or just wandering the halls. It doesn't matter. As soon as you lay eyes on that purple pony, walking around with a cyan-glowing horn and an insufferably smug look on her face, your world will twist.
Suddenly you're on four hooves, not two feet. You have a mane. Maybe you're lucky enough to have wings, or a horn. You aren't a human now. You're a pony, your special talent emblazoned on your flank to show the world who you are.
But clearly, this is how things have always been, right? Pay no attention to your memories of hands, this is normal now.
[ooc: Feel free to make your own top levels and go wild! See here for ooc plotting. Also here if you want to make a custom pony.]

['Morp always makes her feel better. And it distracts Lapis, and maybe the answer to Lapis's lapse in memory is down there. She clearly turned into a pony by venturing out into Wonderland. Maybe the key to reversing it is also there.]
no subject
[A weird thing to agree to when she's not really in the mood, but Lapis too has the vague, not-very-hopeful thought that maybe doing something might somehow jog her memory. Still not very likely, but it can't be any less helpful than hanging around here.
...Though, having agreed, she finds herself faltering again immediately. Even a trivial thing like going outside comes with its own pointers towards the adorable pastel elephant in the room. Her first instinct is to think of flying them both over, but how would that work, exactly? Or if they go through the building, as Lapis doesn't often bother to, isn't there something off about that image too? She can't quite envision anything.
She furrows her horsey brow at the door, recalling now that Peridot was having trouble even opening it. This all seems like a bizarrely stupid dilemma to have.]
...How do we get there.
no subject
[Which seems like such a simple answer. Duh. Of course they walk. Or Lapis flies down and if she's feeling generous enough to be a taxi and Peridot isn't attempting another hoverboard experiment with whatever metal thing is capable of supporting her weight, she carries her.
But Peridot made it up here and she also made it through the door, even if it meant using her metal powers to turn the doorknob... And that's harder than you'd like it is. It requires a certain finesse she doesn't have mastered yet. It's easy to lift things and throw them. It's harder to make them rotate when they're stuck in a fixed point.] Once I get the door open.
[And so she stares at the door. The door knob wiggles under the intensity of her electromagnetic field as she manipulates it to the right angle. The doorknob is confused, because this is not how things work, and if Peridot had blood vessels she'd be in danger of busting one with the amount of effort she's putting into this VERY SIMPLE TASK.
She gives up after five excruciating minutes and then tries to kick the door with her back legs with an exaggerated HI-YA!! sound. Unfortunately, even as a pony, she has the strength of a kitten. She doesn't even leave a scuff.]

Well, this is the hard way, but she was going to catch up one way or another, even with a dose of unnatural reluctance polluting her rockbrain. She is Lapis Lazuli, dangit, and if anyone can out-stubborn literal magic, it's her. She didn't hold her mind together through millennia in a mirror and months in Malachite just to let some stupid pony hypnosis tell her what she should and shouldn't think about now.
She lifts a hoof, angles it towards herself. It seems perfectly normal, but. But. The last time she made that sort of gesture, it definitely wasn't.]
Peridot. [The tone is eerily mild.] Was I a pony earlier?
no subject
No. First I came in here believing this was my intended form and then you convinced me through logic that I wasn't, and then you went to investigate further and came back as a pony, and forgot the entire conversation because you believed these were intended forms.
[She heaves an exaggerated sigh.] It's very confusing.

...
...
Lapis drops her hoof back to the floor with a clunk, and, because she cannot facepalm, she facewings.
Aaaaaaaaargh.]
Aaaaaaaaargh!
[Dammit, she can't believe she let this happen to her. Mind alterations are such heinous bullshit, but also this is just embarrassing now. All that work to cause Peridot an identity crisis and now Lapis has to catch it from her! When she's done groaning into her wing, she gives it an offended frown before moving on back to Peridot.]
You could've said something. [It really is confusing, admittedly.] Did I happen to mention yet that this is really, really stupid?
no subject
[Groaning gives way to indignation as she pushes herself back onto her feet.] And Wonderland didn't even announce this! We're supposed to be warned. What good is an early warning system for changes to the simulation if it doesn't get used! UGH!
no subject
[As she speaks, Lapis looks herself over. Her wings, folded again, keep ruffling in agitation, and she's restless on her hooves, as if the barely-perceptible touch of the floor against them is a discomfort. She twitches her tail experimentally; she gets a partial view of her own gem, which is an unnatural experience for her. Stubbornly, she is remembering what she really looks like as hard as she can manage, which is an uphill battle.
Not that it accomplishes much regardless. Technically Lapis could shapeshift, one supposes, but that could only last for so long, and it still wouldn't feel right. She's just uncomfy.]
I look ridiculous.
no subject
And despite the fact that she has a triangular mane and a triangular tuft of a tail and is probably the most triangular pony to ever pony, she still snorts a bit now that she can get a good look at Lapis that isn't perceived through a veil of "moon goddess why."]
You really do. [The snort becomes a full laugh. Honestly, this is such a nightmare, she can either laugh or stomp and stomping got her nowhere.]
no subject
Still not as ridiculous as you. How about we don't go out after all.
[Screw it, trying to investigate got her nothing but humiliated and now the idea just makes her feel tired. Maybe someone'll have something on the network tomorrow.]
no subject
[Peridot eyes the hammock and then looks down at her form.] ...Or you can sleep this off. You're better at getting into the hammock than I am.
[She knows darn well she'll get tangled in it and there's so much more to get tangled up with right now.]
no subject
At least it's less embarrassing if they do it together. Also, to be fair, it's not like they NEVER sleep on the floor or in the grass or in stupid positions normally. They're gems, they don't get neck cricks, they do what they want. Lapis heads instead for the room's current Corner Of Soft Things, folds her legs under her, and makes a beckoning gesture with a wing.]
C'mon.
no subject
Maybe if we force ourselves to fall asleep, it'll just go away.
no subject
Frankly, she's not even actually sure she's up for sleeping right now in the first place. But going out is off the table, a lot of usual pastimes involve hands, and there are worse places to be than a pony pile.]
You realize that would officially make this one of the least awful things that's happened here.
[Not that she's optimistic about it being true, anyway, but Wonderland sure does make you put things in perspective. Which is kind of annoying. Getting turned into a pony really shouldn't be considered a relatively good day.]
no subject
I never thought I'd say that about an event that changes your form, but you're right. It could be so much worse. There could be monsters.
no subject
Well, 'enjoy' is a strong word by Lapis's standards. Maybe it's just that after all that annoyance, anything more soothing is welcome; also, it's always possible the brainwashing magic is a factor. And it is true and genuinely worth remembering that they AREN'T in any immediate danger for once. In any case, so help her, this is already doing more to improve her mood than it has any right to, and that's also a fairly noteworthy phenomenon by Lapis standards.]
If this actually was an event, you'd be giving it ideas now.

We'll let them know. I'm sure it'll be very intimidating.
[Sarcastic enough even for Peridot, because there's simply no getting around the fact that they are adorable.]
