Happy December, Wonderland!

[ Juliet offers a brilliant, if somewhat strained, smile to the network. The camera isn't directly aimed at her face at first--she's still getting used to video chatting--but she reaches out to adjust it quickly before continuing. ]

I know not everyone here celebrates Christmas or... Even knows what Christmas is, but! In the O'Hara household, Christmas is a big deal. I mean, I really big deal. All my family comes in and there are games, and arts and crafts, and a ton of food...

[ People probably get the idea, Juliet. ]

So! I know things always get really crazy during the holidays anyway and I wanted to get on top of things so I'm having a little pre-Christmas get together at my place. So whether or I know you or not, come by room three on the seventh floor anytime over the next few days and I promise we'll have a lot of fun. Open door policy.

[ She pauses. ]

Not literally. Knock first.

[ room 3, level 7 ]

Juliet has gone all-out for the holidays, as an O'Hara is wont to do. With no financial limits and no job to distract her, she's put everything into decorating her place. Anyone walking past room three on the seventh floor will be greeted immediately with an timely wreath and equally festive doormat.

The decorations don't stop there. Juliet has decked the halls to the point that they are bursting, having even extended her living room quite a bit to accommodate food, fun, and hopefully a lot of guests. Every wall is decorated with some kind of garland, wreath, or lights. She's even got a sprig of mistletoe hanging in the corner for any couples who visit that might be so inclined.

And, of course, there is the the Christmas tree in the corner of the living room.

Anyone who visits will also be greeted by an unimaginable spread of food from cookies, cakes, and various snacks to some traditional Scottish fare like mince pies. There's another corner table dedicated to just Christmas crafts, from cutting out paper snowflakes to sewing Holiday themed pajamas.

Maybe it's a little early to go full out, but Juliet couldn't wait. Christmas is her favorite time of year and she hopes that getting to it early will help her miss her family less - and maybe help her find a new family in Wonderland.

Hm... Well, actually, people do give eachother gifts back home. We just also make up stupid mascots to keep the children from acting out.

Huh, that seems...rather odd. But I suppose if everybody's celebrations were the same, it would get very boring. I believe the Yaks have a celebration around building things, then smashing them.

... Yaks?

[Wait, what?]

Yaks. They live North of the Crystal Empire, in Yakyakistain. They've only recently opened their borders again for trade and connection with Equestria. There's a lot left to learn about their culture, it's quite exciting.

[Kokichi just stares at Sunburst for a second.]

So... What happens if a pony and a yak had a kid?

[KOKICHI!]

[WHY ARE YOU LIKE THIS KOKICHI?]

Um. [Sunburst's ears flick back for a moment, because he hadn't really thought about that. It's only recently that bonds between other nations had been formed. Perhaps one day that would mean...cross breeding would be a thing. ]

That...hasn't happened back home. I expect they would be some sort of yak-pony hybrid. Assuming that would even work on a genetic level.

[IT COULD HAVE BEEN WORSE.

Kokichi scoffs at the actually thought out answer. Boo, weren't you gonna yell at him for asking that sort of question.]

You think it would? Because it sounds like you got a lot of sentient beings running around your world. Cross species romance is probably gonna be a thing.

[Sorry, Kokichi, you're going to have to troll harder with this one.]

...I guess it would be an inevitability eventually. We'll just have to see what happens when it happens.

So... You mean we have to wait for some kinda yak-pony hybrid to show up before I get a good answer on this one? Boooring.

[His muzzle wrinkles in confusion.]

I'm...not entirely sure how else you'd get a good answer on that one. You just have to let nature take its course...assuming it will at all. Yak and Pony culture don't really encourage much...compatibility.

Oookay, so what other sentient being you got running around at home? Anything more romantic than a yak?

[Why is this happening to him? What did he do wrong?]

Uhhhh, I don't know what you mean by that? I mean, I'm pretty certain each species finds their own attractive? It's honestly not something I've actually thought about.

[Kokichi likes tormenting the innocent.]

Well, you should! I mean, if new species are opening up trade routes, that means they get to interact with eachother, which sometimes leads to dating and romance and all that jazz!

[bibliocorn]

I don't see why that should concern me at all, if I'm being honest. [What is romance, can you eat it?]

...I'm just looking forward to reading new literature from different cultures.

Really? That's all that matters to you? Books?

[Kokichi scoffs.] Okay, hope you're having lots of fun with your book hoard, nerd.

[bibliocorn]

No. I also enjoy magic, antiques, prestidigitation, geology and my job.

[Not romance though. Nope. He gives a little haughty sniff.]

You say that like I'm supposed to take that as an insult, but I don't.

[shslliar]

[As much as Kokichi could tease the unicorn about his lack of magic, he instead focuses on that last comment.]

Wait, you mean you'd rather marry a book?

[He found an opening!]

[He gives a surprised, horsey snort.]

What? No! You can't marry books, they're not sentient.

[GEEZ, Kokichi.]

I'd rather not get involved in any of that... mess, honestly, romance. Seems a lot of trouble.

Great, you're not totally isolated from the rest of the world! Glad to hear that!

[Once the heart reveals its shape, the phantom thief swoops in to mess with it. Sort of.]

Whatcha mean a lot of trouble? You don't mean to say you hate lovey dovey stuff, do you?

Of course not. I do have friends outside of my books, you know.

[And yet he's still a goddamn hermit.]

I don't hate it. I mean, I work for the Literal Princess of Love, it wouldn't be a good thing if I did. I just...don't really bother with it that much myself. Guess I haven't met the right pony.

[As much as he wants to tease him, something hits him like a brick.]

Wait... Literal Princess of Love? What?

Hmm. Princess Mi Amore Cadenza. Princess Cadence. She rules over the Crystal Empire, but she's also the Princess of Love. She has a special kind of magic to bring ponies together.

[Kokichi is looking at Sunburst like the pony has two heads.]

... And you're absolutely positive this is an actual... Pony. Person. That exists outside of someone's weird fanfic.

Yees? I'm in her employ, so I'd know if she didn't actually...exist. I talked to her on a daily basis, back home. The Princesses all have their own areas to have dominion over, Cadence's just happens to be love.
