Faithful friends who are dear to us gather near to us no more | OPEN

Who: E V E R Y O N E (Including our 4th wall guests!)
Where: Everywhere, one both Mirror and Real Side!
When: December 19th - December 26th (ICly December 25th) (WEEK TWO)
Rating: PG-13, warn if going higher
Summary: After a particularly intense week of holiday cheer and holiday scenes, Wonderland simply cannot take any more. The form it takes will no longer hold. Wonderland sheds its holiday skin and remains in the barest form of itself.
The Story:

As of the 19th, no one will be able to use the network to make posts. A new error message will appear on all screens, but again, it's probably fine.

This will quickly prove to be a problem though, as Wonderland has completely abandoned any sign of the signature mansion or its grounds. All of a sudden, it cannot hold itself together any more. At this point, Wonderland has become a series of holiday past, present, and future scenes instead of a collection of rooms, and none of them connect together in any sensical, linear way. If you find a friend wandering, you may want to stay with them. It will prove difficult to seek out people on purpose (though very easy to stumble across people by accident).

In between the various scenes, instead of the halls of the mansion, are one of three voids. Gravity does not seem to exist in them, and characters will float, swim, or spin around until they find a new scene to be in. There is no up or down, and no ground to stand on. Scenes are entered suddenly and without warning, going from floating along to suddenly standing in a memory or a vision (unless you have come from the second void). Characters can also find themselves traveling from void to void, but there is no precise place where they overlap, and if they turn around they will not be able to return to the void they were previously in. It is almost as though perhaps, the voids and the scenes are moving around, and that Wonderland no longer has a static form.

Wonderland will remain this way until the end of the event. What happens then? You'll have to wait and see. ♥ For now though, please enjoy the horrible voids that make up all of Wonderland at the moment. If you have any questions, please report to the plot post or check out our Fourth Wall Masterpost for all your other fourth wall needs!

"Gosh, it's almost like they'd have to turn off their streams and make real plans with their families or something."

Young Shaun's words do nothing to dislodge the media professional smile from Stacey Mason's face. "After dinner you can show everyone how good you've gotten with that."

Shaun tightens his fingers around George's. "We should have used your book for target practice. You could have got the e-copy without too much trouble."

They should have. Georgia's about to agree when the door opens and Michael Mason comes in. "Dinner smells delicious, honey."

They all know Stacy didn't actually cook it, but that doesn't stop her from dimpling in a way that makes both the adult and young Georgia grimace in unison.

Then Michael turns and sees the book young Georgia is holding. "Ah, Georgia! You opened my present. I look forward to discussing it with you when you're finished."

Even the sunglasses can't hide the way Georgia lights up--cautiously, but filled with the sort of hope she hadn't quite learned to discard. That maybe she never fully managed to discard. "You do?"

The older Georgia says nothing, face stony beneath her sunglasses. She remembers how this ended.

Shaun's hand tightens around George 's again as he watches the distrust and wariness cross his younger self's features. He has long given up the hope that George still harbors, and is clearly braced for what comes next.

"We don't have to stay and watch this," he says, glancing toward the adult version of his sister. "We both know what happens."

"Yes," Michael says, beaming. "It'll be like a book club, just for us. Won't that be fun?"

"Yes," young Georgia says. "I'd like that."

The older George knows that it'll be a lot less fun when she realizes they're going to film the whole thing and it won't exactly be just for them. She tears her eyes away to look at her Shaun.

"I know. But it won't change that it happened."

He sighs. "I know." It wouldn't. There's nothing either of them can do about the past, or the fact that their parents had been more interested in their online presence and perception than in their actual children and those children's actual needs.

He watches young Shaun roll his eyes and turn back to his crossbow. Moments later, a botl hits the Christmas tree, breaking several ornaments and immediately pulling the attention of the cameras from Georgia.

Shaun smirks, even as young Shaun is getting reprimanded for using the weapon inside the house. "Ah, the beginning of a beautiful friendship."

As much as watching their parents turns her stomach, watching Shaun get in trouble to keep the attention off her warms her, and she smiles a little, leaning her head on his shoulder.

"Our last Christmas was nice. Nothing but you, me, and the zombie moose."

"That sounds way better than torturing our parents for the thousandth time." He pauses. "Please tell me that a zombie moose actually showed up on Christmas because it would top the zombie in the backyard for 'best present ever.'"

She smiles. "There weren't any on actual Christmas. Sorry to ruin your dreams."
