When: January 12 - 15
Rating: Please warn for anything above PG-13.
Summary: As the Gryphon announced, there is an event. Everyone is now living as if one regret they formerly had no longer exists.

best times wow
[Well, she recognises him, so that's...something. Okay. Okay. He can deal with this. He'll just treat her like he would any kid, it's fine. This is super fine.]
Your secret's safe with me, I promise.
[He very solemnly crosses his chest with an index finger. This is super serious business. He looks up at the tree, can it take his weight? Prooobably not, but since when did a silly thing like danger ever stop him. ]
You want me to help you get down?
no subject
That's a very serious promise when you cross your heart.
( She nods, and then seems to think about the question. )
Or find a trampoline! Or a ladder.
( She has very good kid-ideas, right? )
no subject
[Clem is not how he pictured her as a kid at all. Perhaps because she's so tough and resourceful- he kind of forgot she was like the rest of them at one point- just a regular kid with no idea that the world was about to fall to hell.]
I think both of those options will end with one or both of us breaking our legs.
[He tests a branch, it's been a fucklong time since he climbed a tree. Hmm.]
I think I can come up and get you?
no subject
And she doesn't want him to break a leg. )
...can you climb a tree?
You're reeaaaaaaaaally tall. ( And that's usually why her parents could never catch her in the tree when she climbed it cause they were so tall and it's harder like that so they just made her a tree house instead. ) But also, I don't want to get stuck up here. Like a cat. I saw a cat stuck up in a tree one time, and they had to call the firemen.
no subject
[Probably. He's not so convince don the getting down part, but they'll jump that hurdle when they get to it. He throws her what he hopes is a confident grin.]
On account of my tallness. It's great for tree climbing. I'm actually part giraffe, you know. A special kind. That climbs trees.
[He'll swing himself up onto a branch, wincing and waiting for it to crack, only relaxing when it stays firm.]
Welllll given Wonderland is pretty low on firemen currently, we'd better do our best not to get stuck up here, huh?
no subject
Giraffes don't climb trees. Just... be careful.
( She moves a bit further out on her branch to watch him, tilting her head to the side. )
Yep! Someone could probably bring a ladder if we needed to but people don't come out here a lot. I just like climbing trees.
no subject
[He'll just fox her with his backwards logic, ha ha! He pulls himself back up, shimming onto another branch. Wow, this was way easier when he was, like, ten.]
Hooo. That's true. People don't dig the outside so much in the snow. Guess they don't appreciate trees the same way you do.
no subject
....well. I don't know. I've never seen a giraffe before.
( Except in like movies... but they're usually not climbing trees then. She tries to think if she can step down while he comes up so he doesn't have to go so high.
She grips hold of her branch and tries to stretch out a leg toward the nearest branch to her. )
But the snow makes everything pretty, and you can make snowmen! With funny hates. ( Klaus taught her that. )
no subject
[He actively winces, because lord it's high and she's way shorter than she usually is. Which is pretty fucking short, but that's besides the point. She's super short now. ]
It's ok, don't try to come down to me, I'll- uh, get there.
[Up another branch, okay, okay.]
It does, you can also make snow angels which are pretty rad. Or snow forts.
no subject
You don't sound too sure! And I can reach... maybe.
( She tries for a different branch with her leg. Stubborn as always even at this age. )
I like snow forts! I like to hit people with snowballs. I'm a pretty good shot- ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh- ( her foot is on a lower branch but the rest of her is on a higher branch, and she's now got her arms wound around the higher branch cause it feels like she might trip. )
...I shoulda listened!
no subject
[Clementine why do you have to be The Most Stubborn. Normally he finds it unnervingly charming, but right now, with the likelihood of her falling and breaking her neck, he decidedly does not.]
Yeah if you could maybe do that, that'd be great.
[He clambers up and across to her, reaching over to wrap one his his (right now, thankfully) stupidly long arms around her middle.]
Okay, there, we're getting somewhere. Can you shimmy across to me? I got your back.
no subject
( Yes, Clementine's going to call this out as she's basically dangling here, even if she actually looks a bit scared right now. She's pretty brave for an eight year old, but she doesn't want to fall.
That'd probably hurt a lot. )
Okay! I just thought I could do it.
( but she's relieved the second he is able to grab hold of her, keep her safe. she does some shimmying in his direction. )
Yeah, I got it. I'm shimmying, and I.... made it. ( to him, and she's immediately relieved. phew. this feels much safer. ) Now what do we do?
no subject
Hooo-boy that was a good one.
[He hooks an arm around her, pulling her close. Safe. ]
Right. Wrap your arms around my neck without choking me, please. And them I'm gonna climb us down.
no subject
Okay!
( She does as he says, wrapping her arms around his neck, and then glancing down at the ground. )
You really are good at climbing even though you are so tall.
no subject
Why, thank you for that backhanded compliment, Dear Clem. I'll hold it in my heart forever.
no subject
( Clementine says with a smile, because she doesn't actually know what a backhanded compliment is or means, and sarcasm kind of goes over her head at this age, but she understands he's thanking her. )
Maybe when summer comes people will help me make a tree house like I had before.
no subject
Well, I'm sure we can do something. I'm not exactly super handy with a hammer, but I could probably put up a couple walls or something.
