Summary: Misa is confused about how some of her friends seem so different because of the event and goes out for a walk to take her mind off of it. She wanders too far and ends up running into someone she'd have been better off not meeting...
the Story:
It was chilly outside; Misa was glad she'd worn something a bit warmer than her usual clothes. It was snowing after all. She'd been keeping to her room the past few days, torn between joining in the fun everyone was having in the snow and just staying on her own to worry about what might be happening back home. Staying on her own had won till now...well, not really on her own, since Rem was usually always there. But now Rem was off somewhere. Misa had nagged her to try and make some friends till it seemed the shinigami had actually given in and gone looking for someone who might be able to see her.
Her breath misted in the air and Misa shivered. Glancing over her shoulder and looking back at the trail of her footprints which marked the snow, she realized she'd walked farther away from the mansion than she'd meant to. She'd been so wrapped up in her thoughts she'd almost reached the forest. Maybe it was time to head back.
But just then she heard rather loud noises coming from the direction of the trees. She wondered what was making such a racket. Someone else from the mansion must be out there as well.
"Hello?" she called out.
Curiosity overcoming her, she headed towards the forest.
