So, the next best thing he could (other then rolling on the bed) was wander the halls. He was now able to wander around the Mansion without getting lost anymore, which he was quite thankful of. Going downstairs, he reached the first floor, glancing at the window. It was still raining, all day, all night, just raining. It reminded him of his home, which was....he wasn't sure if it was a good thing or not, but it made him feel nostalgic.
Alice felt the sudden urge to just go outside, and get wet by the rain. And so he did, for when he felt an urge to do something, well..he did it. Going outside, the rain felt nice and cooling. Smiling a bit, he walked around a bit, before catching a sight of a little girl playing around in the rain. He was a bit surprised, since not many people he knew would go outside without any umbrellas, but then again there was odd people here. Alice just stood there and watched the girl.

Oh, Yotsuba was having so much fun that as she raced across the mansion grounds -- grass, mud, water, what have you -- it was no surprise that her legs seemed to be covered in bits of pieces of earth that was stuck to her legs.
Her whole body was soaked through with water, but she just continued to smile while spinning around, kicking up the water any which direction.
Did we mention that she liked the rain?

So what does she do? She smiles right on back and rushes forward to stand a few feet from him.
"Are you here to play in the rain too, mister?"

And now there are multiple green-haired children outside the mansion grounds.

Yotsuba is very much pleased when she's got a playmate who's willing to float around in the rain -- puddle after puddle.
"I can make a bigger splash than you can!"
To which, she finds the nearest puddle, jumps up and then lands with her ankles deep in water that goes which ever direction.
no subject
"I can splash bigger than that!"
And to prove it, he makes a running jump into another nearby puddle. Whether it's actually a bigger splash or not is a mystery to him, because he wasn't paying attention.

She turns her head and sees a very large and very LONG puddle of water and smiles excitedly. "Watch this!"
To which, she runs right through the puddle as if she were skating, causing the water to ripple and splash on either side of her.

He tries running through another nearby puddle, but only succeeds in making a few tiny splashes.
The mystery of puddleskating remains unsolved! He jumps in the offending puddle for a bigger splash.

Reaching over, she moves to tug on his sleeve to pull him back to the large puddle she had just gotten done puddle skating at and points at her feet.
"Watch!" ZOOM she goes, doing that awesome thing with the water and her feet again.

On his way along a first-floor corridor, though, he can't help but notice an oddly familiar shape through the water-streaked glass. He squints.
And stops.
Five minutes later, he's striding out the front door, coat zipped up, hood tugged up over his head, and a hastily procured umbrella keeping the water from his face. If that's who he thinks it is, the last thing she needs is to be outside.

Every so often when the thunder rumbles across the sky, she'll stop and spin in place, but for the most part, she's just enjoying the rain as it soaks into her body.
It's when she stops spinning that she notices a familiar figure coming up with a big umbrella. The clover girl blinks once, maybe twice before she notices who's under the hood.
"VEXEN!" She raises a hand and waves at him before scampering up to him with the largest smile on her face. "Did you come to play outside in the rain!?"
no subject
"You shouldn't be out in this weather," Vexen scowls, feeling like he's only echoing something he's said before. "You'll get sick." As for the idea of 'playing', of course, it's preposterous. He's much too old for it.
no subject
"Nuh-uh! I won't get sick! The rain is nice!" When Yotsuba looks down, she sees that they're at a random puddle ... and she jumps up to splash in said puddle because that's what she does.

His expression isn't precisely dark, but the water dripping off his nose makes him a rather pathetic sight. "...Yes, I see you're enjoying yourself." At least she isn't running around in the middle of an actual storm. He wonders if he'll end up having to accompany her around.

"Play in the rain with me!" She squeaks out, a look of hope spreading across her features.

Demyx, of all people, really does appreciates a good, heavy rain storm every now and then, but this. This is ridiculous; it's been weeks of downpour, and, with the last terrible event having already past, the Melodious Nocturne really has nothing left to worry about. Or, for that matter, do.
So, to quell his oncoming case of cabin fever, he takes to the inside of the mansion, simply walking up and down stairs and along the hallways to give his sitar a rest and his body some needed movement.
...It's not until he passes a window on the first floor that he notices his surrogate daughter dancing out in the rain, completely soaked.
Hardly two seconds pass before Demyx is out the door himself, flailing as he jogs and nearly trips over the steps on his way to her side, pulling the little girl close. He understands how bored she must be, but sacrificing her health to play outside was a no.
"Yotsuba! What are you doing out here? It's really coming down!"
no subject
The rain -- the thunder -- the wind -- the lightning. It just seemed to give her an extra bit of life as she danced to her own tune. Seemingly untouched by the whole world as she was taken away by how wonderful the rain was.
At least, that's how it was supposed to be until she felt herself being pulled close. "Eh?" Her emerald colored eyes glance down to see arms covered in a familiar black coat, and a smile spread to both sides of her face as she looked up.
"Daddy! Daddy you came to play out in the rain with me!"
no subject
It's sort of pathetic, how easily Yotsuba has him wrapped around her tiny finger. His intention was obviously to come outside and bring her inside, but apparently that thought hadn't once crossed Yotsuba's mind. So now, the sitarist actually feels guilty for wanting to spoil her fun, whether his reasons good were or not. She just looks so happy to see him out there with her...
"Ha...haha. Right, playing," turquoise eyes avert, focusing on all of the mud beneath their feet with a pause between words, "That's what I came out here to do! But there's a lot of fun things we could do inside too, you know. Why don't we go dry off and, uh...do that?"
Whatever Yotsuba's answer might be, Demyx is already raising a hand while he waits for her to respond, watching the drops of rain come to a stop above her head as he quickly draws them together. The mass of water grows just short of an instant, and soon enough there's a liquified shield floating above the small clover's head. Each excess drop caught drips off the transparent edges as they're continually absorbed, filling more puddles around her dirty boots.
Yotsuba may already be soaked, but the sooner to dry, the better.
no subject
Still, it was nice to know that he'd get himself soaked in the downpour just to be with her.
"Eeeeeeh?" She does look mighty disappointed when he offers to go inside to play. Yotsuba's tiny, yet rather cold, hands cling onto the sleeves of his organization coat as she tugs on them. "B-but, but Daddy! We haven't found a good puddle to splash in!"
Thoughts of puddles are soon pushed aside when she catches a glimpse of the water shield that Demyx was now producing above her head. "....!" True to his previous nickname, it still amazed her when he was able to manipulate water so easily.
"AH! It's not raining on me anymore!"
Insert flail of excitement here as she reaches up to touch said water shield.

"Ta~da," the musician grins down at her triumphantly, resting one hand atop a tiny shoulder. "You like that? It works inside, too."
He walks around a little, just to show her the shield would indeed follow, chin raised to keep watch and focus while guiding her along beside him.
"Wanna see?"
It was worth a shot.
no subject
"It's like an umbrella, Daddy!"
To test this theory however, she moves to pull away from him and steps out of the barriers range before hopping back it. Then in the rain, then back out. She does this for a few more moments before going back to Demyx's side and smiling up at him with childish wonder.
"Can you really do it inside the house?! Really really?!"
Hook line and sinker, Demyx. Good job.
