Valentines is for friends too
Who: Yujinn, Lawr, Open
Where Kitchen
When: Valentine's Day (Noonish)
Rating: G
Summary: Yujinn is meeting up with friends.
the Story: Yujinn was in a cheerful mood. He was humming slightly as he cooked; making something fairly mild and a little sweet, since that seemed to be the order of the day for this holiday. He set the food on the table, the tea still heating on the stove. he'd taken the bread from the dining room, since he had no idea how to cook that on his own.
Since everything seemed done for the moment, he took a seat, readjusting the barrette in his hair, since it was only mid-way down his back now, and not the length he liked for braiding it.

The boy had clearly not bothered to dress up for the event, but that wasn't to say he looked particularly bad. He was definitely the sort of person that looked good in anything he wore, even when what he wore was a pair of black leather pants and a dark gray shirt that was so large he seemed to be swimming in it.
"Mm. I'm surprised Seeu didn't want to keep you all to himself tonight."

"He's planning something, he told me not to make plans for this evening, so I guess I'll see what he's up to then."
The food was a mild chicken in honey and garlic, with couscous and lentils. The bread from the kitchen still steamed from the oven. Yujinn got up and poured the tea.
"I hope the letters aren't bothering him. Are you getting them too?"

This was close, though. Someone cooking dinner for you was always nice. And what a fabulous dinner it was shaping up to be! His mouth was watering at the scent of the chicken, and he was eying the couscous a bit warily. (He'd never seen rice that tiny before.)
Lawr shrugged at the question. In truth, the boy was a glutton for punishment, and he'd relished every letter with a bit of heartache and the mantra in his mind: At least they cared enough to write...
"They're not as bad as people say... some of them are actually kind of funny. I got one from my br-- from Dallas. He called me a nancy and a chickenfaggot. ...I don't even know what that means."

"Most of my letters, we're fairly accurate. In fact, I think some of them are repeats."
Mostly letter from his lovers, ' you left me', 'you never cared', 'you're shallow'. It had been the ones that claimed to come from Ishtar and Darres that hurt, and the one claiming to be from his mother. And even those... were true.
'It's just the mansion doing it, so I'm not concerned." Which was a lie, but he did that easily.

Lawr took up a fork and reached over to the serving plate, snagging a few pieces of chicken and eating them right off. Who needed to serve it on separate plates when you could dig in right at the source? Something told him Yujinn wouldn't care much either way.
"...I did get one really sweet one, though. I kind of hope everyone keeps reading their letters. That one nice one really does make up for all the rotten ones."
no subject
"Like a needle in a haystack... I guess I'll have to look through them then."
He liked Lawr's way of thinking, after all, who cared? he took a piece of chikcen from the plate as well.

"S'good..." he muttered between bites.
no subject
"I know we haven't had a chance to do any lessons lately, but have you been able to practice?"
no subject
"N- not too much. I'm sorry..."
no subject
"Wonderland doesn't give us a lot of time."
no subject
"Yeah," he broke into the couscous again, a more hesitantly than before. "I guess it doesn't."
no subject
He offered his hand across the table, 'Here, let me show you."

"Do you remember the words?' he asked, then slowly recited them away.
Sorry. Hiatus. Back now.

Yujinn smiled warmly.

"I guess..."

"Another simple spell is 'burn be gone'; which can cure trivial injuries. They taught it to schoolchildren in my world."
no subject
"That sounds helpful," he gushed, trying and failing to not sound as excited as he was.
no subject
He repeated the spell -- more of a children's rhyme than anything.
"It can heal burns and cuts and bruises, nothing serious.'
no subject
He wished he had known a spell like this when he was working back home. He didn't want to think about how often he couldn't sit from being sore in areas he didn't want to think about either. He tried to repeat the spell, closing his eyes and leaning forward a bit in concentration. Commit it to memory, commit it to memory...

He hissed in a quiet breath, frowning a little as blood pooled to the surface around the blade. But he just as quickly dropped the knife and began determinedly muttering the rhyme Yuujin just taught him.

"...I never ever thought I'd be able to do things like this. And I definitely didn't think I'd be learning from an angel."
