Valentines is for friends too
Who: Yujinn, Lawr, Open
Where Kitchen
When: Valentine's Day (Noonish)
Rating: G
Summary: Yujinn is meeting up with friends.
the Story: Yujinn was in a cheerful mood. He was humming slightly as he cooked; making something fairly mild and a little sweet, since that seemed to be the order of the day for this holiday. He set the food on the table, the tea still heating on the stove. he'd taken the bread from the dining room, since he had no idea how to cook that on his own.
Since everything seemed done for the moment, he took a seat, readjusting the barrette in his hair, since it was only mid-way down his back now, and not the length he liked for braiding it.

He tried to think for a moment, about whether or not magic existed in his world. The answer was a resounding 'no.' There were tricks... sleights of hand, and illusory manifests. There was not real magic. Although not so long ago, Lawr might have said he believed in it.
Forced prostitution tended to kill a boy's sense of wonder.
"The machines? What, like the fridge?" Lawr asked, pointing toward said appliance across the room.

"The fridge is one, yes. We didn't have things like that. These communication devices are amazing. It reminds me of the ruelle mirrors, with the same dangers, but a lot more versatile."

He grinned.

Lawr smiled wistfully, resting his chin on his hand after he'd responded to Yujinn.

That's right, for Seeu too, Wonderland was definitely better.

It was kind of a stupid question on the surface. But when one considered all Lawr had been through in his home, all the things he'd been forced to do, how quickly he had to grow up... and then considered that if asked the same, his answer would be a resounding NO. Perhaps then, it was not such a simple question.

But if leaving meant leaving Seeu...
"I think... given the choice, I would stay here." He said finally. He missed home, but...

Lawr finished off his plate and leaned back, staring at the counter thoughtfully. He wondered if Yujinn's reasons for remaining here were the same as his own, or if his reasons revolved purely around Seeu. Couldn't hurt to ask...
"Why?"
no subject
"Also, I suppose because I have a clean slate here. I have a hard time dealing with what I've done in the past. I think a number of people would be happy if I wasn't there causing a distraction."
no subject
"Well... you're a good distraction."
no subject
"I'm glad you think so. I messed things up on my world, more than once."

He tried to remember what his biggest mistake had been. Was it running away from home to find his brother, or was it trusting the man when he finally found him...?
"But it doesn't mean we're not loved."

"I think you're too hard on yourself sometimes."

He finished his plate, to avoid speaking for a moment.

He leaned against the counter, staring into the sink for a moment before rather unexpectedly announcing, "I really love both of you... you and Seeu. I'm so glad I have people like you here."
no subject
He was surprised by the announcement, but he smiled. "I'm glad you're here too."
no subject
"Do you need help cleaning up?"
no subject
"I think the house will do it."

no subject
"We need to do this more often. I enjoy your company."

Lawr nuzzled his face gently against Yujinn's chest, before taking a few steps back and heading happily out of the kitchen again.
