Who: Poland [
reckless_eagle] and Ryohei [
kyokugen_sun]
Where: A tearoom
When: March 12...sometime
Rating: PG?
Summary: Ryohei talks to Poland. Because Poland is awesome. And not deaf.
the Story:
There were a lot of things that Ryohei was fed up with, and at the top of the list was "dealing with people named Seimei and Hibari." It wasn't that he was particularly angry at either of them; he didn't mind helping Hibari whenever he needed it, and right now he definitely did, and he hadn't seen Seimei for days. He knew wasn't likely to see him again any time soon, either. But dealing with Hibari meant dealing with Seimei at least mentally, and at the moment that was more than enough.
The whole situation had gotten more complicated than Ryohei liked, and for once, he felt like he needed to talk to someone about it. He couldn't go to Hibari, though, so the next person to come to mind had, somehow, been Poland. Even if the nation didn't remember it, he'd told Ryohei an awful lot about his own problems, and Ryohei felt like it would be okay to talk to him.
He'd sent the nation a message asking him to meet him in a certain tearoom, and that was where he was now, juggling two balls idly with one hand while he waited.

He didn't even pretend to know what Seimei was thinking. He understood the older man about as well as he understood quantum physics.

"Especially when he's all... ohmigod, he's so frustrating sometimes, you know? It's like, he does all the stuff I wish he would without realizing it or meaning anything by it... He like, complimented my dress the other day, and it was just like, 'okay, really? What's up with this?'"

"What'll you do?"

Which was part of the reason why his own situation was so frustrating for him.

And sometimes the best thing to do was punch someone. But at times it was hard to tell. And people tended not to like it when you went around punching things when you should be waiting. Or something.
"I still think you're wrong that you shouldn't want him like that. 'Cause if that's the case, then I'm wrong too. But you're extremely right about the rest."
no subject
Not that he saw much of an alternative to that. Other than saying something, losing him as a best friend, and then waiting forever for him to return his affections without any real hope of it.

"What else can you do? I mean, you won't start liking someone else will you?"

"But you're not gonna tell him? I mean, if he didn't have a girlfriend, would you still not tell him?"

"But now we're here, and like... no one really seems to care who likes who, and even angels and stuff act like it's totally okay, and we talk to so many more people, and I don't... I don't know. It's good, I guess, y'know, having other friends and stuff. But like... it makes me feel really lonely for the times when he spent more time with me. Which is lame, 'cause like, we still hang out a ton and share a bed and everything, so I shouldn't feel so weird about him paying attention to other people...
"And like, the whole thing with the girlfriend... in a way, maybe that's why it sucks so bad not to be able to tell him all of a sudden. Like. Like, it was okay to just like him quietly when he didn't like anyone else, but now it hurts. Does that make any sense?"
no subject
Of course, that might have just been because it was Seimei.

Because apparently punching was just...what people from Ryohei's world did when surprised or upset.
