The Boredom of Kudo Shinichi // OPEN

Who: Edogawa Conan (Kudo Shinichi) [[livejournal.com profile] walkingdesuno] and Anyone
Where: All around the Mansion? Mostly Library, outside, or hallways.
When: All day!
Rating: G?
Summary: Conan is a curious child. This means he isn't staying in his room for forever. COME PEOPLE. MEET SHINICHI.
The Story:

It had been about 5 days since Conan became Shinichi. His cold was pretty much cured and well, he was getting bored. He was definitely a curious person. Which naturally meant there was no way he was going to stay in a room if there were no books to read. So, even though he should stay inside since he had no idea when he was going to turn back, Shinichi decided it was time to get some more books. Especially the ones on top.

He walked down the halls and into the library, spending quite some time there. After that, he went outside to play some more soccer. Because man he hadn't played soccer in his high school body for a while. (For a while meaning 17 years 6 months) As the sun started setting, he went to the kitchen to get black coffee (without being looked at oddly if anyone caught sight of him) before going back to his room with a stack of books.

Man it was nice being a high schooler again.

Spencer had decided to spend some time relaxing in the library, reading something for the joy of reading for a change. After all the research, and the subsequent destruction of all she and Wesker had been working on, again, she was in a mood to just shut away the world of Wonderland and escape into another place.

Okay, now she was starting to think like Aria. But she wouldn't dwell on that. That wouldn't be productive.

Still she looked up as someone walked in, curious at the vaguely familiar and yet utterly unfamiliar figure. She offered a smile and nod in greeting, lowering her book in case he needed help finding anything.

Shinichi knew there was a possibility of meeting someone he knew. But all he had to do was act like he didn't know them. And acting was something pretty natural to him. So there should be no problem. Really. At least until someone hit a sore spot.

When he caught sight of Spencer, he offered a smile and nod in greeting back, going over to the bookcase slightly in distance from Spencer. He had confidence in his acting abilities, but there was no use digging his own grave by taking the incentive to talk to her, was there?

[identity profile] scary-enough.livejournal.com 2011-07-09 02:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Initially, Spencer had intended to leave the familiar stranger to his own devices but try as she might, she couldn't shake that feeling of curiosity. She closed her book and placed it to one side, standing and cautiously approaching.

"Hi. Sorry, um, I know you probably don't want to be disturbed but...are you new here?"

If he was, she figured she'd at least make sure he was up to speed on what Wonderland was about. That would only be polite, right?

[identity profile] numberwithheld.livejournal.com 2011-07-09 04:49 pm (UTC)(link)
His initial surprised face was quickly replaced with a smile and a shake of his head. "No it's fine, miss. I suppose you can say I'm new, I came this week," he answered. Best to answer truthfully.

Or well, truthfully as he can.

[identity profile] scary-enough.livejournal.com 2011-07-09 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
"I guess that explains why I haven't seen you before. You settling in okay?" Spencer offered a hand. "Spencer Hastings. I know the past week probably wasn't the easiest one to show up during so if there's anything you're still not sure about I can try and clear them up for you."

[identity profile] numberwithheld.livejournal.com 2011-07-10 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
"It is a little hard to understand at first, but I think I'm doing okay. Taking things in one by one." Shinchi replied, taking the hand in return and give it a short shake. "Shinichi Kudou. Thanks, Hastings-san. I think I have the basics down from reading the manual. Anything else I should know that wasn't written on it?"

[identity profile] scary-enough.livejournal.com 2011-07-10 06:43 pm (UTC)(link)
"That's probably the best way." Spencer nodded her understanding. "I can't think of anything but if you have any specific questions feel free to ask."

[identity profile] numberwithheld.livejournal.com 2011-07-11 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
Shinichi tilted his head to think for a while. "About how many people are here?"

The day was drawing near its end, but Minato was still in the kitchen having a snack. Maybe melonpan of some sort like his icon as it reminded him of the student store in his high school's lobby. Dinner time, or really time to eat, never really comes to an end for the blue-haired teenager.

Once he finished that snack, Minato was up and had the fridge open, thinking he should have something to drink. But when he heard someone else had entered the kitchen, another teenage boy that he hadn't seen before, Minato closed the door to the fridge. He stepped aside and gave him a nod, letting the newcomer work his way around the kitchen or simply explore it.

[identity profile] numberwithheld.livejournal.com 2011-07-10 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
It really was a small world. It couldn't be helped Shinichi supposed, considering that they were just in one building. As much as Shinichi would have wanted to be friends with Minato as a high schooler as well, he wasn't going to just come off the bat to tell that Conan equaled Shinichi. It wasn't that he didn't trust Minato, it was just that in case of all the people, someone from the Black Organization came, Minato wouldn't be a target.

Shinichi only paused for a moment, as to see who was there, before going over to the stovetop. He couldn't act too used to the ways of the kitchen, but he didn't want to look too lost either. After a few moments, he began to look in the cupboards, for coffee beans and a mill. He kept attention towards Minato, not too much to make Minato suspicious or uncomfortable, but not too little as if he was ignoring the other's existence.

[identity profile] jivitadana.livejournal.com 2011-07-10 06:12 am (UTC)(link)
No one else had been in the kitchen, not at this time of day. Minato observed the other teenager, not finding him familiar or someone he had run into before or seen over the network. He was about to clear away the table of his plate, but after seeing that the other boy was rifling through various drawers and cupboards, Minato spoke up, offering assistance.

"Did you need help finding something?"

[identity profile] numberwithheld.livejournal.com 2011-07-10 05:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Shinchi had just taken out the mill when Minato offered his assistance. "Huh? Oh, I don't think so? I found one thing I was looking for," he replied with a small smile, holding up the mill. "All I need are some coffee beans."

He assumed that the beans would probably be nearby as well, since the Mansion had a way of making thing you need appear right in front of you.

[identity profile] jivitadana.livejournal.com 2011-07-10 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Minato gave him a nod. He only wanted to make coffee, or so Minato had assumed. That seemed rather familiar to the blue-haired Persona user as he had coffee not too long ago with a certain bespectacled detective, but there were enough residents in the Mansion and enough people who should know how to make coffee at all.

"They're over here." Minato opened up one of the cupboards nearby and showed him where the variety of coffee beans were.

"Have you been in Wonderland long?" He thought to ask that as well.

[identity profile] numberwithheld.livejournal.com 2011-07-10 07:06 pm (UTC)(link)
"Thanks." Shinichi went over to where Minato had shown him to select a coffee bean. It really did seem that the Mansion had everything from everywhere, since he spotted a familiar blend that he favorited back at home. Taking that one, he took one cupful and began grinding with the mill.

"Not really. Almost a week," he answered truthfully. Conan may had been here for longer but Shinichi hadn't.

He was about to ask if Minato wanted some, but that seemed too frank and friendly. It wasn't really what Shinichi himself would do to a stranger he just met.

[identity profile] jivitadana.livejournal.com 2011-07-10 09:13 pm (UTC)(link)
"You seem to have adjusted well."

A week in Wonderland only wasn't much time to adapt oneself, but it depended on the person and their personality. If this teenager was comfortable enough around the kitchen or around the Mansion by now, it said a lot about his character.

Minato retrieved his plate from the table to wash it. He pointed out another place in the kitchen along the way if this other boy wanted to have coffee.

"The coffee mugs are in another cupboard over there."

[identity profile] numberwithheld.livejournal.com 2011-07-11 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm a fast learner."

And a fast adapter. If he wasn't, there was pretty much no way he would be able to act like a child enough to hide his identity.

Shinichi looked over at where Minato pointed. As helpful as ever it seemed. Minato really was a nice person, much more than most people he knew. "Thanks."

He went over to the cupboard to get the coffee mug. Thank god for height. No more stools and crawling up on the counter.

Gareki had borrowed mountains of books on mechanics from the library and not surprisingly, finished every one of them, cover to cover. He kept the ones he found particularly interesting for later return, but decided he would take back ones he didn't want anymore. He stepped into the library, books stacked on his hands high enough to cover his face and slipped them back where they belonged. Then he went around to look for some light reading.

As he aimlessly picked out titles, he nearly bumped into Shinichi. Looking up, he furrowed his eyebrows. His eyes were locked on the target and he remained silent, deep in thought. That face was awfully familiar, but to who...?

[identity profile] numberwithheld.livejournal.com 2011-07-10 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
Shinchi had been holding two or three books himself. Thankfully, he didn't drop them like he would have if he was a child. As he looked down at the person who bumped into him, he remembered in the back of his head that yes, Gareki was younger.

It always felt odd to look down at people that he was craning his neck up just few days before. "Sorry, are you okay?"

[identity profile] goggles4ever.livejournal.com 2011-07-10 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, fine." Gareki broke his gaze and grabbed another title from the shelves. There was no point in staring. It wouldn't have done any good but make things awkward. Still, he continued to try and connect a face in his memory to the face of the teenager next to him. No luck so far.

"I'm Gareki. You?" Let's get some more clues by carrying on the coversation.

[identity profile] numberwithheld.livejournal.com 2011-07-10 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
Of course. No one expects for the child they knew to suddenly age 10 years. Even though there were blatant similarities, glasses can do a lot of wonders really.

"Kudou Shinichi. Nice to meet you, Gareki," he answered, with a smile that he usually wore to most strangers. If it was anyone he knew the face probably would've been a bored or something more frank looking.

[identity profile] goggles4ever.livejournal.com 2011-07-10 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
Gareki hummed in response, equally nonchalant.

He turned and once again, looked directly at Shinichi. The name could be an alias, however intricate and real it seemed. There was no beating around the bush with him if there was something he wanted to know. "You look familiar. Have we met before?" Gareki's voice was controlled, yet completely casual.

[identity profile] numberwithheld.livejournal.com 2011-07-10 05:18 am (UTC)(link)
Surprisingly, his name was real. Not a lie at all. Other than him talking about detectives, it was probably the only truth about himself he has told Gareki.

Shinichi kept the smile on his face as he shook his head. "I'm afraid we haven't. Perhaps you're mistaking me for someone else?" Everything looked natural on Shinichi. Obviously, he will win an Oscar one day fft.

[identity profile] goggles4ever.livejournal.com 2011-07-10 05:44 am (UTC)(link)
"Maybe."

GAREKI'S LIE DETECTOR IS TINGLING. But for now, he chooses to ignore it. The Oscar is obviously well deserved. He considers his suspicions might be wrong. Maybe this was an opportunity to make a new... acquaintance.

"Are you new here?"

The good weather had brought Rei out of her room under the temptation of being able to get a few good pictures of Wonderland's landscape. She had no real destination in mind and simply wandered until happening across a young boy playing soccer.

It wasn't on purpose, but she ended up watching him from afar.

With a camera in her hands.

[identity profile] numberwithheld.livejournal.com 2011-07-13 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
Shinichi was, you know, pretty used to camera. And it wasn't like Rei was looking over at him with bad intent. So naturally, Shinichi continued his soccer maneuvering without noticing Rei at all. He seemed to be having fun alone, kicking the ball at the same place on the wall over and over again.

This goes on for a few more minutes, until he takes a small break. Which is when he first notices someone watching him.
