Who: Bela Talbot and YOU!
Where: Anywhere and everywhere
When: During the whole of Zombie event.
Rating: R to be on the safe side.
Summary: A catch all for the event with those I planned with and also anyone who wants to jump in! Comment into what day you want and I post a starter if you need me to. Just PM me or drop a private plurk @marymoo :)
Action tags are a-okay as well!
The Story:
One of the things that Bela learned after a few hours was that loud noises seemed to attract the zombies or 'biters' or 'walkers'... whatever Daryl had called them. Therefore, she decided that she would only use her handgun in an emergency. As it happened, she had armed herself with a knife or two and a pipe, perfect for jamming straight into a zombie's brain, disgusting as it was. Didn't really seem to matter when it was her life at stake.
She also gathered whatever food supplies she could and they were meager so Bela had to make them last. Finding fresh water may be a problem. There were a few bottles stored away in the bag she had but how long would that last? Bela wasn't used to this sort of thing and the lack of sleep didn't make anything better. If she looked in a mirror, she'd probably die of shock. Even in the midst of a zombie invasion, Bela was still a little bit vain.
Staying alive was still her number one priority though.

November 23rd (day two)
Re: November 23rd (day two)
The fact remained however that he didn't really ... interact with them. OR kill them. Nine times out of ten they'd been his coworkers. This is more then a bit much.
Especially since his strategy has been run and see if he could find things to throw at them. Not wanting to risk anything beyond the most basic shield spells - the only piece of magic the one time lawyer had known.
However that running can have negative consequences, such as - knocking into her.

Bela didn't even see him coming until he collided with her and almost sent her flying; she was lucky enough to have good balance but Bela was still a little wobbly on her feet as she looked up to see who had bumped into her.
"You should watch where you're going." She all but snarled at him, knowing that it was better to keep her voice down as much as possible. "Especially in the midst of a bloody crisis."

Lindsey looked over his shoulder, heart hammering, "...God what I wouldn't give for a weapon."
no subject
But bickering wasn't going to achieve anything so she reined herself in. "You don't have a weapon? Not exactly smart." Mostly reined herself in.

There's a sound of shuffling. Lindsey raises his eye brows, "...Should we move away?"

The sudden noise grabs Bela's attention as she looks over to him. "I think that would be wise, yeah. Before we get overwhelmed."

[Lindsey no you couldn't. He's trying to brag.]
...Where's a safe place? Someone you know have a room nearby?
no subject
[Calling him out on that brag. It helps that she got advice from an expert.]
I haven't seen anyone else around for a while now. We'll just have to check each room until we find somewhere. Unless you know someone.

He stops to rest against a tree, the endless moaning loud in his ears. He feels the inevitable closing in. He's died before--twice, counting what Sam and Michael had done--but that doesn't make him infallible. There isn’t a single thing protecting him from being torn apart by the undead just like the other monsters had, and he feels that reality in every tired, hungry inch of his body.
He might very well die again and there’s not a damn thing he can do about it.]
no subject
She's trekking through the woods at the moment, looking for higher ground or somewhere safe to hide out until all of this was over. There weren't as many zombies around but Bela was still cautious, knowing that they could just come out of nowhere. What didn't help was that it was freezing cold and the jacket she had on wasn't giving Bela much warmth.
Adam was the last person she expected to come across in the woods. She stops hard in her tracks as she passes someone leaning against a tree, needing to take a second look to check who it was.]
Adam? [She drops her backpack to the ground, crouching down next to him and placing a hand on his forehead.] Figures I'd have to save you again.
no subject
Adam straightens a bit at Bela's approach, his breath leaving him in one long, relieved rush. It's not until she's close enough to touch does he realize just how tense he is at the idea of facing one more undead monster. Amazing, how after all this time a person could still be afraid of dying.]
It's you.
[He recognizes her as the woman who'd tried to help him once upon a time. For the most part, she looks like fine, all body parts intact; he interprets her hand on his forehead as a way for her to check the same, if he's infected or on the verge of changing into one of those freaks.]
I'm not sick.
[Yet.
There aren't fresh bandages at the ready anymore, and the worst of the injuries to his arms and midriff he'd given himself fighting his Mirror off are probably infected with something, if not the zombie virus. Or maybe he's well on his way to changing. Who can say? He's certainly no expert.]
sorry for the short reply, i'm at work at the moment
[Even if he said he wasn't sick, Bela knew that she had to make sure because he could turn at any given moment. Daryl had warned her all about that on the first day and it wasn't something she would easily forget. She lets her hand linger on his forehead, brushing away a few strands of hair as she pulls it back, looking over him.]
You're the first person I've seen around for a while. [A pause.] You look like crap.
[Come to think of it, Bela hadn't really seen him in a good state so maybe this was his default mode. At least he was breathing and responsive and he recognised her. But he couldn't stay here, Bela knew that for certain- they needed to find some kind of shelter.]
Not at all. <3!
I don't--I don't think so... [He stumbles in his words, nerves in knots. Still, he hasn't lost his sense of humor in these miserable conditions. Her frankness makes him laugh faintly in his throat.] Then I look as good as I feel. Do I feel like I've got the zombie plague?
[The resourcefulness, and in many cases, the kindness of the other people in this place have kept him afloat so far, but who's to say what it takes to end up infected? He'd talked to Daryl, too, and Daryl had mentioned how easy it would be for accidents to happen...
Adam hasn't forgotten that Bela had tried to help pick him up off the floor at one time, either. He still owes her, and now it feels like everything's going down the toilet so quickly. He can't make anything up to anybody if he can't even help himself survive.]
What are you doing out here?
<3!!
[It's said with a hint of a smile and a sigh of relief. Maybe he'd be lucky and not fall victim to an infection. He's already been through the wringer a few times already so a break would be welcome for him. Bela doesn't want to have to deal with a newly turned zombie either, especially one that wore his face.
His question was to be expected really and she can't resist being somewhat funny with her reply.]
Admiring the view and taking in the sights. [Said as she rummages through her bag to retrieve a bottle of water, holding it out to him.] I'm looking for somewhere safe and hopefully warm. If the zombies don't get me, the weather certainly will.
You're coming with me. Sitting against a tree won't accomplish anything. Chop, chop.
no subject
He stares at her a moment, searching for something to say that isn't "how were you stupid enough to get stuck out here like me?" before reluctantly accepting the bottle. She'd said she'd have to save him again. He supposes it's true. He's not Sam or Dean, or some super-powered angel; he's alone and it's getting dark.
If it had been an undead person and not her, he might be dead already.]
Thanks. [For the water, he means. And a hundred other things he can't put into words.] You're not going to get that far with me around. I have a bad track record with this.
[He's thinking of his mother, who's been on his mind a lot since Wonderland had changed. He'd gotten her killed by monsters, and gotten himself locked up in Hell by a different kind of monster.
If he doesn't pull through this time, it's not going to be a surprise.]
no subject
Adam doesn't deserve to die either. He's been to hell and back and lived to tell the tale. This was another kind of hell with no clear cut end in sight and it was terrifying, probably the scariest thing that Bela has had to face in her life.
And maybe it was stupid of her to be out in the woods when it was almost nightfall but sitting and waiting around to get horribly ravaged by a zombie wasn't on the top of Bela's to do list. He may be human and without powers but he's not completely weak: Adam was a survivor like her. He just needed a little help right now.]
I'm not leaving you here to become one of those thing's next meal so you're coming with me, Adam. Whether you like it or not.
[Her tone is firm and she's giving him a look, holding out her other hand.]
Now, come on. It's going to be dark soon.
no subject
[He's not in a position to turn away anybody's help, he's really not. The water goes down like a cold, refreshing glass given to a man who's been lost in the desert. His thirst isn't as extreme as when he'd first started to recover from the Cage, but he hadn't exactly planned well for the zombie apocalypse, either--he hasn't found any safe drinking water in a while, let alone food, or shelter that lasts longer than an hour or two.
Here he is, leaning on her again, and he can't deny that he needs to lean on somebody if not her.
But he still asks the question. It comes out before he can stop to think about it. Once he secures the cap again, he puts the water bottle in Bela's hand, leaving her with only a mouthful or two less than what she'd started with.]
no subject
She eyes the water bottle after he hands it back, setting it down on the ground for the time being before looking back to Adam. Perhaps there was someone better who could help him right now but all he had was Bela and it would have to do.]
Would you rather starve to death? Die of thirst? Maybe even die of hypothermia? Better yet, how about getting eaten alive? Don't ask such a stupid question. Now, come on.
[The longer they stayed out here, the more riskier it could become. Bela had no desire to die again, especially not like this.]
no subject
It's fucking sad that he's surprised people want to keep him alive, that's what.]
I still owe you.
[He can't argue any of what's she said, and instead he makes her a promise, steady and somber. Maybe later he can figure out something a little more meaningful to say thank you. Or ask why she's willing to shoulder his crap on top of her own.
Pushing away from the tree, he glances around them for the familiar stumbling figures.]
Not doing those things is a great plan and everything, but do you have somewhere to go? I haven't been able to get back to the prison.
[Too many undead people in the way. Hence getting ready to throw in the towel after all the running it'd taken to get away from them in the first place.]
no subject
Let's not worry about that now.
[They can worry about it when all of this was over, after they had taken enough time to recover from the shit that was thrown their way ever since it began. God only knows how long it would be until the next event came along.
While he gets to his feet, Bela packs up her bag and checks her supplies before slinging it on her back again, checking the area.]
Haven't got that far yet. There's bound to be somewhere though, I'm sure of it. If we move quickly and keep our eyes open, we'll find a place.
[Little miss optimistic over here. She couldn't get back to the prison either which is why Bela had moved in the other direction, looking for a safe haven.]
