The Grand and Splendiferous Ghost Log of 2013
Who: The Ghosts of Years Yet to Come and YOU!
Where: Anywhere. Everywhere.
When: December 15th - December 25th
Rating: G for Ghosts, Proceed With Caution!
Summary:
The Story:
And so it begins.
Throughout the mansion faded images will flicker in and out – ghosts of Wonderland's future. These ghosts can be of anyone, from any point in the next five years. They will play on repeat, as Wonderland's Chess Piece Ghosts have in the past, and they will offer brief glimpses into the future for anyone who witnesses them.
They cannot be stopped, and the images cannot be changed or altered. This isn't to say that the future can't eventually be changed, of course, but there is nothing that anyone can do over the course of this event that will change the contents of these imprints.

Summary:
• This log is intended to give everybody a good overview of where in Wonderland which ghosts can be found. It can be used as a reference for other posts, or to thread encounters too short to warrant their own entry.
• To help browsing all ghosts easily, please put [Name of Ghost Character] - [Location of Ghost in Wonderland] into the subject line, so everybody can immediately see who they'll encounter, and where.
•If you have any more questions about the ghosts, or the Christmas event in general, go ahead and post a comment to our Q & A thread!
• In short, STEP 1: Posts with ghosts! STEP 2: ?!?! STEP 3: PROFIT!

[And this much is said without hesitation. In the meantime, Blake starts meandering in a direction different from where the ghost image plays in the snow. He's on his way back to the mansion, by the look of it.]
If you're havin' trouble findin' him, though, then you're prob'ly right. Pretty sure he mentioned your death a coupla times — pretty upset by it.
[Blake scratches at the back of his head.]
Just not sure what to do here. [And then the same conclusion a second time.] Give him space, I guess. Only answer I've got right now, unless you've got some ideas.
no subject
Well, that's how it had felt at the time. He'd been too bullheaded to realize how monumentally stupid he was being.
Is that the case now? He doesn't think so. Dean's the one who isn't even letting him get a word in edgewise, who's ignoring him because the alternative is too difficult. But the truth is that there's no such thing as running away from your problems. Castiel learned that the hard way.]
I'll keep trying to track him down. He may not listen to reason unless I repeat myself a few times. [His annoyance bleeds through at that, but he follows after Blake.]
We should look at the rest of your notes, if you have time.
no subject
He doesn't quite know how to explain the scene on repeat in his room. For that matter, he's not all that certain he wants to share it at all, because it's disturbing and uncouth and wrong, and he can't quite guess the benefit of sharing. Except... Dean will eventually tell Castiel, anyway, and then there's that ghost in the library that says just as much (if not more), and—
Oh, fuck it.]
There's... somethin' else. [Hngh.] Somethin' with future me and future Crowley an' future you-don't-wanna-know-but-can-maybe-guess. So, there's that.
[Moving on. Pointedly moving on.]
Definitely don't mind sharin' my notes, though. Got the time right now.
no subject
He's just going to have to keep working at him and wearing him down until he'll speak to him like he's a person instead of a bad memory. He doesn't know that it's even possible, but that won't keep him from trying.
When Blake speaks up again, Castiel glances over, his frown deepening as Blake continues speaking because he has no idea what he's talking about. Castiel doesn't do very good with indirectness, or with people assuming he'll know things that he doesn't at all.]
No, I can't guess. What are you talking about?
[The notes are more important, but now that this has been brought Castiel needs to know. Anything having to do with Crowley counts as his business.]
no subject
Dunno how it happens, but Crowley an' me — the future us — are in some kinda relationship. Dean said I picked 'im, said I picked Crowley instead.
[And then, more pointedly.] Saw evidence to support it, too. That's what I'm talkin' 'bout.
no subject
And more than that, why would he pick Crowley over Dean? Because that's what it would be, a choice between the two.]
I can tell you firsthand that it's a bad idea. Relationship was never part of the equation, but I worked with Crowley for a time and it didn't end well.
[Which is as much his fault as it is Crowley's, if he's being honest with himself, but the point is that teaming up with a demon in any way is not recommended.]
no subject
Yeah, know it's a bad idea, trust me, I know. Not really the point, is it? For whatever reason, that's what happened, an' no amount of convincin' Dean otherwise is doin' me any good.
[He feels insane about all of this, but after everything that went down, just being able to speak to that insanity feels better than he guessed it might.]
He's not interested in playin' ball with me anymore, an' that's why. So, you're prob'ly gonna have to field Winchester 'til this gets worked out.
no subject
Seeing how Castiel and Crowley had come across that image of Crowley sacrificing himself for him, there seem to be a lot of things in this future that make no sense.
Is it possible that Crowley develops into being a person that others can actually get along with, and that's why he and Blake end up in some kind of affair? But Castiel can't even begin to imagine that, nor is he at any kind of loss for why Dean would be so upset about it.
He nods as they reach the building, holding the door open for Blake.]
Don't worry, I can handle him. Even when he resorts to yelling and trying to march away.
no subject
[He gives a nod of thanks as he passes through the door, but his mind is very obviously elsewhere. Aside from the fact that he's never felt quite so far-flung as he does now, it's almost entirely impossible to guess his future self's motivations. If it were just about companionship, John could find that in plenty of other places in Wonderland. Hell, if it was just about sex, John could find that in plenty of other places in Wonderland, too.
It just doesn't make sense. And losing his friends over it makes John want to think about it for about two seconds before tossing his hands into the air and admitting he'd never go there.
Except he had. Or... will have... someday.
Ugh. So confusing!
Of course, it's only worse on that quiet trek up the stairs. He doesn't even wait to open up his room, gesturing Castiel in through the door. Across the room, the ghosts of Blake and Crowley are mostly obscured by the dressing screens Blake had lined up earlier in the week, almost immediately after their discovery.]
You want to copy these down an' give 'em back to me, then?
[So pointedly ignoring the make-out session. So pointedly.]
no subject
He'd put up with traveling by car with Dean for hours on end at times, so this isn't that much to ask for.
It's a confusing state of events, though. Anything that involves crossing timelines is bound to cause problems, though the sheer amount of nonsensical things that they're staring down has made this particular situation even more difficult.
When Castiel steps into the room, he catches glimpses of the ghost recording, even if it's covered up -- enough to see that it's Blake and Crowley doing something, and he's able to fill into the blanks.
Since Blake is ignoring it, Castiel does his best to follow in his footsteps.]
Reading them over should be enough.
no subject
[And then he offers out the two stacks.] One's outside, one's inside. Check the backs — get kinda... caught up on the details, sometimes get wordy — so you might find some stuff there.
And, uh... [He scratches at his eyebrow, gestures vaguely.] That's— that's it. Hope you can read my writin'.
no subject
When the stacks are handed over, he nods and takes them both.] I'll be able to read it. [He's combed through so many ancient texts written in other languages, some of them long dead -- he can easily decipher some chicken scratch.]
Should I take this with me, or read through it here? [He could understand why Blake might not want it taken out of his sight. Castiel's a fast reader, but he'll let Blake decide.]
no subject
Nevertheless, Blake seems oblivious to the angel's patience and waves him on without so much of a thought.]
Naw, I trust you. Keep 'em an' I'll pick 'em up the next time we meet up.
[A beat.]
You mind writin' down what you've seen for me? Can't exactly pluck it outta your head.
no subject
He nods, moving back toward the door almost as soon as Blake gives him the go ahead. He'll take good care of the notes, and he already has plans to spend a few hours in the library.]
Yes, I can add to these, if that would be easiest.
[Annotate the notes, and then tack on anything that Blake has missed. It seems like a good idea.]
no subject
The world may never know.]Yeah, sure, that'd be fine.
[John even adds a toss-away gesture, as if to say he's not at all nervous about the idea that his notes might be lost or borrowed or compromised. Nope, not at all.]
Just get 'em back to me. Don't care how you do, long as they're in one place.
no subject
I'll take care with them, you don't need to worry.
[He lingers in the doorway for just a moment.]
And I'll let you know if I make any headway with Dean.
[With that, he turns around and heads out the door. It shuts behind him, a small act of telekinesis.]
