Karaoke Lounge (2-3)

Who: Class 2-3 & YOU!
Where: The Karaoke Room
When: July 15th - July 16th, 2014
Rating: PG-13 to be safe
Summary: Class 2-3 has decided to create an awesome karaoke lounge for their class project!
The Story:
Sweet Karaoke Lounge

Karaoke Sample Song List

Presented by 2-3, this chic and semi-intimate karaoke lounge is heralded as the perfect get-away for those students and visitors looking to burn a little energy dancing and singing. Despite how it might first appear, the room boasts a deceptively large space, plenty of seating, and basic refreshments.

Nearest the stage is a sign-up list for those looking to sing. The music database is massive, so pretty much any song is offered (however, there are signs warning against selections that may not be appropriate for all audiences, even if no one will be closely monitoring).

[[ OOC: Prose or action spam is totally fine. Start your own headers, link your own songs, dance around in all the threads, and have a great time!

P.S. Don't forget your content warnings where necessary!

P.P.S. Hopefully this is okay with everyone in class 2-3. Please PM me here if you need me to add/change/remove something/etc.]]

The expression she shot her classmate was somewhere midway between exasperated and bemused. She was sitting just outside the door of the room they'd turned into a temporary karaoke lounge, perched on a stool and directing students inside, because this was as far away from the singing as she could get and still be considered 'helping'

It wasn't far enough.

"Probably more than anything you can imagine up," she retorts wryly, crossing her arms over her chest in a stubborn show of nope.

If anything, Natasha's expression serves to amuse John more. He's always liked a good challenge, and while Natasha isn't the stubbornest girl he's ever met, she's rather good at balking, much like she is right now.

"Oh, come on, give me a chance. What's one thing you've really been wanting to do or have?" He's going with the idea that most girls have something they're secretly really wanting to own, or some dream that they're just waiting for the chance to fulfill. It's a tall order, but he's convinced it'll be worth it. "If you do one song with me, I'll give you whatever you want. It's so much more fun with two, you know."

She gives him an amused look at that. "The one thing I want most is to get out of here before there is more singing, so your offer's a little contradictory."

"Yeah? Is that what you want?" He grins and tips a wink at her. "Well, then, how about you and I leave? I hear there's a really brilliant view on the roof."

No, this is not a come-on, Natasha, whatever would make you think that?

Now that catches her attention and if he can accomplish this, he might just become her favorite person of the day.

"What, just like that? How do you expect to manage that? I've been trying to sneak past Annabeth all morning."

"Would you believe I've got skills in that area?" Just trust him, Natasha, he's good. "But if you'd rather stay here and not find that out, go right ahead."

"Oh, no, you've officially got my attention," she countered, leaning forward in interest, a grin starting to lurk at the corner of her lips. "Impress me."

"Have I? Well, that's excellent. Come on, then, let's not waste time." He was already on the move, expecting Natasha to be coming along behind him. "The trick is to act as though you're not doing anything in particular. Just stay close, now."

He turned back to look at her so he could add, "Oh, and do try not to look guilty. That'll tip them off right away."

"I know how to play innocent well enough."

Which might be an understatement, but she does still pull it off admirably. She's not sure if his plan is ingenious or if there's a new emergency holding Annabeth's attention, but it works better than anything else she's tried so far.

A moment later they're out the door and in the hallway beyond and Natasha has to stifle the urge to do a victory dance.

"It's a useful skill to have, really."

It's served him well, at least. He probably won't go as far as to call his plans ingenious; what it all boils down to is just having good timing.

"And there you have it, you're free to do whatever you want." Never mind that she's always been free to leave, but he understands that most people have their own agendas, and some of them can be just a bit forceful about said agendas.

She's grinning as she flings her arms about his shoulders in a spontaneous hug. "You're brilliant. Color me impressed. Now if I can avoid Annabeth for the next few hours, I may just survive this festival after all."

He grins too, momentarily surprised by the hug, but not that surprised that he can't return it. "Well, I try to be. Sometimes it doesn't work out so well, though." Or rather, people don't take well to his claims of brilliance, even when the evidence is right there in front of them.

"There's loads of people milling around out here. I think if you'll be alright."
