Karaoke Sample Song List

Presented by 2-3, this chic and semi-intimate karaoke lounge is heralded as the perfect get-away for those students and visitors looking to burn a little energy dancing and singing. Despite how it might first appear, the room boasts a deceptively large space, plenty of seating, and basic refreshments.

Nearest the stage is a sign-up list for those looking to sing. The music database is massive, so pretty much any song is offered (however, there are signs warning against selections that may not be appropriate for all audiences, even if no one will be closely monitoring).

"Me sing?" Teddy repeated. He glanced up at the stage skeptically. It wasn't that he couldn't sing. He did but in the shower when no one else was listening... at least, he hoped no one was listening.

"I guess... I mean, I could if my name was on the list... do you want me to sing?"

"You don't have to," Billy said noticing that he got uncomfortable. "I was just curious."

"No, no, I'll sing," Teddy said with a grin. "Besides, it's only fair that I got to hear your song. You should get to hear mine."

He walked over to the table and signed his name in blocky letters. He was nervous, a large ball forming in his belly but he couldn't back down now.

"What should I sing? Any ideas?"

Billy grinned up at him. "Sing something you like? And knowing the words help." He wasn't going to lie, the thought of seeing Teddy sing was making him grin uncontrollably.

"I guess that would be better than singing something I've never heard of before," Teddy said. "Ok, I think I have an idea..."

Teddy climbed up onto the stage and took a deep breath, shuffling through the codes until he found the song he was looking for. He wasn't the best singer but he could carry a tune and when the music started up he focused on the words and did his best to do Justin Timberlake justice.

Billy grinned when he heard the music come on, he liked this song and Teddy really wasn't a bad singer. He noticed Teddy watching him as he sang, and he blushed. He couldn't be singing this to him, right?

Teddy really didn't pay too much attention to Billy except to glance "casually" his way when there was a break in the music. Justin was a challenging singer to mimic and he tried his best, although he couldn't hide the fact that his voice sometimes cracked on the higher sections. Still, Billy looked to be enjoying it and he received a modest applause when the song ended.

He hopped down the stage and grinned at Billy, his cheeks a bit flushed with embarrassment. "That was fun," he said with a nervous laugh. "I hope it wasn't too terrible."

"You were good," Billy told him, and he was Teddy the truth, Teddy was a much better singer than he was. "Good song choice too."

"Thanks," Teddy said with a laugh. "It's a song that's kind of been on my mind a lot lately. Actually, that's sort of leads me into something I've wanted to ask you all week."

Teddy took a deep breath before he spoke. "Would you want to go to the dance with me?"

Billy stared at Teddy in shock for a moment, not sure Teddy had actually asked him that.

"What? Did Loki put you up to this? Because you don't have to listen to him, he won't actually do what he threatens." Billy was rambling now, but there was no way Teddy Altman was asking him to the dance because he wanted to.

[hulk_ling]

"What? No, no, this doesn't have anything to do with Loki," Teddy said quickly, not sure why Billy looked so stunned. He thought Billy had wanted him to ask him to the dance. Had he been wrong? Was this all some sort of weird joke?

"In fact, he sort of asked me but I told him I wanted to ask someone else," Teddy said, rubbing the back of his neck. "I would have said something when you came by the Fortune booth but, he said I should wait until after. So, it's after and I'm asking you. You're the one that I want to go to the dance with. If you have other plans... or, if you're going with Loki I'll understand."

"He asked you?" Billy asked in disbelief. That didn't sound like something Loki would do, even when he was being a jerk, which he hadn't been when he told Billy to hit on Teddy.

"No, I mean, yes, I would like to go to the dance with you. If you want to go with me."

[hulk_ling]

"I think he asked me," Teddy said with a shrug. "It doesn't really matter 'cause I turned him down. I want to go with you. I would have asked you at the Fortune Teller booth but, he asked me to wait..."

And then Billy said yes and Teddy grinned. "I do want to go with you. I wouldn't have asked if I didn't want that."

Billy smiled. "Good, then it's a date." Words he never actually thought he would say to Teddy. "I guess my fortune did come true then. You should keep that crystal ball."
