Presented by 2-3, this chic and semi-intimate karaoke lounge is heralded as the perfect get-away for those students and visitors looking to burn a little energy dancing and singing. Despite how it might first appear, the room boasts a deceptively large space, plenty of seating, and basic refreshments.

Nearest the stage is a sign-up list for those looking to sing. The music database is massive, so pretty much any song is offered (however, there are signs warning against selections that may not be appropriate for all audiences, even if no one will be closely monitoring).

She rolls her head to the side to look at him now, giving him a wry look. "Nothing against country music in general. I'm sure some of it's very nice. I have a thing against third years who can't carry a tune in a bucket singing about how 'she thinks his tractor's sexy'. I'm pretty sure whoever 'she' is, she was just humoring him. A lot."

Still, his answer has her grinning. "No, I haven't heard you sing. Can you sing? And wait, Bill Nye has songs?" That was that spastic guy with the science show, right? She'd never actually watched it.

"From what I understand that's just the kind of people karaoke's perfect for." He looks all the more amused at her choice of words, though really he can see how being subjected to that kind of thing for the whole day can leave just about anyone in a sour mood.

"You don't want to hear me sing, trust me. And yeah, he has a bunch of songs, are you kidding? Nearly every episode had a parody song. They're pretty funny." Well, to Bruce they are anyway.

She thuds her head back against the wall with a groan. "No one warned me the cultural festival was actually torture in disguise. If I weren't looking forward to the dance so much, I'd so be at home dying of the plague right now."

She still grins at him afterwards though, because it could probably be worse. Right? "Technically I don't want to hear anyone sing. And huh. I'll take your word for it. Don't think I've ever seen an episode."

[dyskinesia]

"Just bad luck," he shrugs, even as he grins in amusement at her reaction. "Our class's project was far less of a torture, even if it was a pain to come up with ideas. There's certainly no torture going on during the exhibit."

He tilts his head curiously, as he rests with his shoulder on the wall. "I didn't think you'd be looking forward to the dance, though."

The last remark doesn't surprise him that much. A lot of people never watched the show, even if he thinks it's really fun for just about any kid. "Maybe I'll show you some episodes someday. Or the songs, at least."

"That's been all my luck this week," she huffs out, breath ruffling the bangs that curl against her forehead. Although she glances over curiously at him, because she hasn't gotten a chance to explore yet. "What did your class come up with?"

Natasha lifts a shoulder in a shrug and slides her body until she's partially facing him now, still propped against the wall. "Why not? I like dancing well enough. It's fun. You're coming, right?" she asks, cocking her head to the side. Her lips quirk a bit at his offer and she dips her head agreeably. "Alright."

[dyskinesia]

"Week's almost over," he offers, though what he means is that the whole school event is almost done and dealt with, and she'll be free of this karaoke hell. "An art exhibit. Each of us had to come up with a piece to contribute to it."

Being all about the sciences, it's not hard to imagine he had a hard time knowing what to do for it.

"Yeah, I'll be there," he nods briefly. "I don't think Tony'd let me skip it. Or you, for that matter. Even Loki, honestly."

"It is, thank god," she huffs out a deep sigh of relief before glancing over at him again, a smile twitching about her lips. "An art exhibit, huh? Dare I ask what your contribution was? Did you finger paint?"

She does look a bit more delighted over his comments about the dance. "You're right, I'm sure Tony and I wouldn't. I'm surprised at Loki, though. Not that I don't approve."

[dyskinesia]

"Wow, mean!" but he laughs a little when he says that, shaking his head at her. "Actually, I did a scale model with computer and other mechanical parts."

Didn't look half-bad by the time he finished it either, so all in all, could've been worse.

"Yeah, I don't know. I ran into him and he sounded a little too interested in whether or not I was going to the dance," he shrugs. "I don't really think he'll pull anything, though."

"You-" She started, then stops again, because of course he did. "Huh. I bet Tony was impressed. I'll have to swing by and look. Although I'm very disappointed there was no finger painting, Bruce. Heartbroken, even."

She gives him a look at that. "You don't think Loki's not going to pull anything? Are we talking about the same Loki? Or are you just suffering from spontaneous amnesia?"

[dyskinesia]

"Feel free to drop by anytime," he's mildly satisfied at the brief surprise on her face, despite him having chosen materials he's more comfortable with. "I'm sorry to hear that. Tell you what, I promise to make you a finger painting piece."

He falls quiet for a moment before he finally concedes, giving her a one-shoulder shrug. "... you're right. Too much to hope for."

She shakes a finger at him "I am totally holding you to that, I'll have you know."

At least he shows some sense where Loki's concerned, but his agreement has her laughing anyway. "It was a nice thought, while it lasted. If it makes you feel better, he does seem to be distractedly occupied by playing cupid, so maybe you're safe. Well. Safe-ish."

[dyskinesia]

"I made a promise, and I don't break my promises," he answers as he eyes the finger she points his way.

"Playing cupid?" He's not going to comment on the bit on how he's safe-ish from Loki's antics. "Well, at least that's not too... bad, I guess. He could've come up with a lot worse to pull during the actual dance."

[widows_kiss]

"Good to know," she answers with a wry smile, giving him a fond look. "And yeah. Something with Billy and Teddy, I think. I caught him muttering in the hall this morning before he realized I was there. And please don't jinx us. I can't believe you just said that."

[dyskinesia]

"Wow. Loki playing matchmaker," adding that to the list of strangest things he's ever said. Not that he'd ever thought Billy and Teddy needed that much matchmaking to begin with, but alright. He winces slightly at her last remark. "Oops. But-- no, we'll be... we'll be fine. Right?"

A moment's pause as he looks at her. "... right."

She just rolls her eyes at the look he gives her. "If worse comes to worse, I'll take one for the team and keep him distracted for the evening. I'm sure I can think of something. Maybe he likes to dance. Like you," she adds with a teasing smile.

[dyskinesia]

"I don't remember ever saying I like to dance," he huffs out, crossing his arms over his chest. "But Loki, I can see him liking that, yes."

[widows_kiss]

"Oh, but you do. I'm on to you, Banner," she adds, crossing her arms over her chest as well to playfully mimic him.

[dyskinesia]

"No you don't. Stop making stuff up," but he's grinning as he says that, so he can't be all that offended. Still, he glances around in hopes of finding a topic change. "Do you know what karaoke means?"

[widows_kiss]

She just laughs and slouches comfortably back against the wall again, making a face at his question. "Torture by singing?"

[dyskinesia]

He almost snorts out a laughter at her guess, clear to him that she's joking. "No. It literally means 'empty orchestra'. That's pretty interesting, I think."

[widows_kiss]

"I think mine was more accurate. It's Japanese, right? They'd totally have some ancient method of some horrible dishonorable death by tone-deaf singing, they were creative like that."

[dyskinesia]

"Yeah, it's Japanese," he grins, shaking his head slightly. "And actually karaoke's pretty recent, from around mid-20th century, so I think your logic is out the window."

[widows_kiss]

"Can we throw the karaoke out with it?" she asked hopefully.

[dyskinesia]

Alright, this time he does laugh, brief as it may be. "Do you have to stay here?"

She likes making him laugh.

His question has her peering around, looking for Annabeth. "Probably, but I don't see my jailer. Feel like helping me break out?"
