Who: Mirror Kaneki [
kuitai]
Where: All over the Real side of the Mansion
When: All through the event
Rating: PG-13-ish?
Summary: Kaneki's Mirror is hungry.
The Story:
After crossing over, Kaneki's Mirror spends his time wandering the Mansion and the grounds, searching for the sword without bothering to study the riddle. If it's where he looks, great. If not, maybe there will be a person there instead. That would be much better than finding the sword.
It isn't that he isn't looking for the sword or that he's anything but loyal to the Queen. That's not it at all. It's just that Kaneki's Mirror is so so hungry and he has no qualms preying on anyone from either side of the mirror. They'll come back to life on this side of the glass, right? So there's no problem.
[OOC note: With Kaneki's Mirror, anything between terrorizing and death are on the table. Unless injury/violence/etc. is requested, I'll keep it to terrorizing only. You can get ahold of me by PMing this account or via AIM at MadMadPhineas.]

But Minato's words make him pause as he shifts his weight to lunge forward, the arms of his kagune raised to strike.
What he really wanted?
"What I want is to eat. It'll be less painful for you if you're dead when I do it."
no subject
"You want to eat me?"
Who was this person or what was this person? Minato clutched the Evoker close to this chest.
"Wait, wait, don't... If you want to eat me or whatever human being, then you can. Just don't kill me."
no subject
Kaneki shifted his weight again, backing off a little, hoping he wouldn't end up regretting it. He'd used conversation as a stalling tactic before; he knew how it worked.
"It's going to hurt. If you're dead, you won't feel it, and you'll come back to life without any pain."
He moved quickly, kneeling in front of Minato, one hand on top of the ones wrapped around the Evoker, putting enough pressure on them to keep Minato from raising the gun to his head.
"What will stop you from changing your mind part way and using this to attack me again?" His kagune made whip-like motions behind his back as he spoke as though to communicate just how displeased that would make him.
no subject
Minato had heard that before lots of times from someone who was much more grounded, level-headed, and rational than he was. It was as though he blinked and a part of him fled to the glass mirror in the tearoom he visited so often. He had to flinch, shutting his eyes tightly as his hands were restrained and as he desperately tried to hold every part of himself together.
He didn't want to die, was all. He liked his life too much, and he didn't like the idea of having remembered dying.
"And you should know that you're the one who's going to stop me from attacking you again. But besides... I'm offering, right? If I hurt you this time and get away, you'll track me down eventually and kill me in my sleep, and then I'll never wake up again."
This was like consent. Maybe if he did this he wouldn't have to run the risk of ending up dead later on at the hands of this Mirror. How much would it hurt, anyway? Perhaps he should've said that he didn't want to be permanently dismembered either. Sure, he could heal after his leg or arm was ripped off, but healing magic wouldn't grow a limb back.

Kaneki smiled, and it was almost gentle around the edges.
"I won't kill you now. So do your best."
Without more warning than that, he leaned forward and bit into Minato's upper arm, through his clothes to his flesh.
no subject
He swallowed and bit down hard on his lip. Temporary, it was only temporary. So was living if Kaneki said he wouldn't kill him "now." If not now, then later. Later was better than now.
Kaneki was biting his arm, really biting it. He was going to eat part of him. It was almost unbelievable, but it was actually happening. Minato knew he was losing blood at the same time. It was fine. Minato had to trust the other Mirror's word at this rate.
no subject
Licking his thumb off, he looked at Minato.
"That's enough, don't you think?"
He removed his hand from Minato's so that he could raise his Evoker to heal himself.
no subject
His flesh knitted itself as if he hadn't been bitten at all, but his sleeve was ruined. That was all the evidence there. Same with all the bloodstains.
"Did you have enough...?" Minato raised his head up again to look at Kaneki. "You should take more if you want it."
no subject
That might be too much for his psyche, though. A body can only take so much pain over and over before the mind breaks.
Kaneki rose. "It's enough."
Humans were just too fragile.
no subject
"You should come back when you want more."
Minato held onto his Evoker but in his lap now. He didn't want to be seen as weak. If Kaneki wanted more, then he should take more. Minato could take it. He could take feeling this much pain if that meant someone would pay attention to him or consider him useful.

Minato let out a breath and sat himself up straighter.
"Unless you're going to think it's boring just eating from me."
no subject
It was tempting. As much as Kaneki enjoyed hunting, he enjoyed eating more. Killing other Mirrors on their own side would make it even harder to find food and it would decrease the available supply, unless the Queen were inclined to be kind to him.
no subject
Minato slid his Evoker back into his holster, and relaxed a little more. He could negotiate with this person.
"You could tell me your name too."
no subject
He just didn't have that much self-control.
"I'm Kaneki Ken. It's the same name as the other one, but it's the one I know, so I'm using it, too. I don't think he'll mind. He likes giving everything he has away."
He didn't look all that pleased by how self-sacrificing the Real Kaneki was, but there wasn't much he could do about it. A person who refused to see himself as he really was couldn't be reasoned with, and the Mirror Kaneki didn't want to waste his own time.
no subject
"What do you mean, he gives away everything?"
How could anyone do that and still have something to call their own? Oh, wait. That whole sentiment sounded so damn familiar.
no subject
"He's the type to offer a starving ghoul his own flesh if it means he's the only one who would suffer."
no subject
Minato couldn't shake off that familiar feeling again. He had to ask his question. Maybe it would solve all the loose ends inside his head.
no subject
He didn't mean ghouls or actual eating anymore. He was speaking more figuratively than that.
He rolled his shoulders, one side, then the other, and tilted his head toward each shoulder in turn, unperturbed by the series of pops that came from his vertebrae.
no subject
Minato shrugged slightly, though it wasn't to dismiss Kaneki's statement in any way. Everyone had that part in them. There was no way to shut it off. It was probably more a matter of control. Or something.
"And what about you?"
no subject
no subject
"What was that that came out of your back?"
no subject
There was no good way to explain the organ without giving a technical explanation and Kaneki didn't want to do that. He wasn't sure he knew any of that for sure anyway.
no subject
That wasn't something anyone just had out of the blue, was it? Eating flesh Minato might be able to understand since that wasn't quite unheard of, as macabre as it was. But having organs like a kagune was completely different.
