OTA

Who: Mirror Kaneki [[personal profile] kuitai]
Where: All over the Real side of the Mansion
When: All through the event
Rating: PG-13-ish?
Summary: Kaneki's Mirror is hungry.
The Story:
After crossing over, Kaneki's Mirror spends his time wandering the Mansion and the grounds, searching for the sword without bothering to study the riddle. If it's where he looks, great. If not, maybe there will be a person there instead. That would be much better than finding the sword.

It isn't that he isn't looking for the sword or that he's anything but loyal to the Queen. That's not it at all. It's just that Kaneki's Mirror is so so hungry and he has no qualms preying on anyone from either side of the mirror. They'll come back to life on this side of the glass, right? So there's no problem.

[OOC note: With Kaneki's Mirror, anything between terrorizing and death are on the table. Unless injury/violence/etc. is requested, I'll keep it to terrorizing only. You can get ahold of me by PMing this account or via AIM at MadMadPhineas.]

Castiel recognizes the stalling measure for what it is, and while it's tempting to completely disregard that and push his earlier point, he decides that there's no harm in calling the Mirror on its bluff, as the term goes.

"I won't take your word for it, but I will allow you to move on -- just bear in mind that I'll be monitoring you." The moment that the Mirror makes a wrong turn, Castiel will be there to make good on his own word.

It seems only fair, given how often the Mirrors get to eavesdrop on them. Turning that around is satisfying, Castiel has to admit, and he's doing so for a good reason.

"I'll interfere, and then render you incapable of making any other attempts." Castiel delivers the words clearly and firmly -- it's a promise.

Whether he has to place the Mirror in some kind of cage or limit his powers with warding, he'll find a way to ensure that he's no longer a danger to anyone.

He's already being too kind by giving the Mirror a second chance. The Winchesters have definitely rubbed off on him in certain ways.

Instead of taking that moment to try and desperately fight back, the Mirror instead backs down as his eyes return to a more ordinary looking shade. He must realize the threat that Castiel poses and unlike so many other monsters, he's not so idiotic as to take that lightly. Good.

The question the Mirror asks actually counts as two, and so Castiel answers both in kind. "I have no way to monitor what you do on the Mirrorside," he says first. He can't see or sense what happens there, but if all the Mirror wants to do is devour his own kind, then Castiel doesn't see how that's his responsibility.

As for the Real, that's a more delicate matter. "If he makes an effort to control his hunger, then we should have no reason to be at odds." But anyone can slip -- Sam and his addiction to demon blood is proof enough of that. What if another event like the Famine one comes along?

"I'll offer him aid first, and warn him of what may need to be done if he loses control." Castiel doesn't intend to be discriminatory, but he has to be realistic.

The Mirror didn't choose it either, Castiel can only assume. That's the case for most monsters, and some even end up turned against their will. He realize it's a struggle, especially for those who have strong cravings, but it's up to them to be vigilant.

He doesn't stop the Mirror from leaving. He's already made his intentions clear. He'll keep an eye on him and do what needs to be done, if he slips and attacks anyone.
