[Caroline winces before smiling gratefully.] Oh no. I was hoping I wasn't too obvious. But I guess I have lost and confused written all over my face.

[As if to assure her this is not her natural state, she explains.] It's been a day.

[Caroline follows Lydia, and when she sees the punch she sighs happily, holding out a hand to take her glass when it's offered.]

Okay, cute dress, tasteful decorations, alcoholic punch, you're officially my favorite person for like, at least the next hour. [She half-teases. But she's extremely genuine in her gratitude.]
