[ No, they wouldn't. Sam is sure that his Mirror, like Blake's, is causing a lot of problems on the other side, but this is something he feels he has to do.

Sam nods his at at Blake, less at ease than his Mirror might be. ]

... Yeah. Guess you are, too? [ It's ill-advised and probably a terrible idea, but that's par for the course in the life of a Winchester. ]

[oversight]

[ Par for the course for not just Winchesters when you think about it. Blake's on his way because he's concerned, especially for the people on the other side of the mirror. He feels almost obligated to check things out. ]

Yeah. Not that I should be, but... Hasn't killed me yet. You been over here before? To the Core, I mean?

[ If Sam hasn't, then Blake's willing to give him some information ahead of time. ]

I don't remember, to be honest. [ He furrows his brows, glancing at the door briefly. ] I... think I did, once. I was over here fighting the Jabberwocky back... sometime. But it might've been some crazy dream, for all I know.

[ Such is Wonderland. ]

I was definitely here before. Two years ago. [ With Crowley. ] It took a memory. Dunno what it's gonna take from me this time, but if it gives us at least a glimpse inside there, I reckon it's worth it. Just to know if it's workin' right.

[ To say he doesn't miss what he's already lost is an understatement, but then again, Blake's probably one of the few people in Wonderland that had a chance to figure out what it was he was missing thanks to the Core. He can thank his obsessive note-taking for that. ]

Definitely doesn't seem like it is...

I agree. It's why I'm here.

[ Whatever he loses, he can stand the loss if they get some kind of information. Even something small is better than what they have now, which... is a lot of nothing. ]

Yeah. Guess we'll just have to see, right?

[ beat ]

... Do we just go in, or...?

Pretty sure we can't go in, but I'll bet we can get a peek.

[ John recalls the last time, when he'd visited with Crowley, and how it had such a drastic effect on the both of them. It seems Wonderland's Core is not all that discriminating about who it messes with.

As he approaches the door, Blake begins to slow. ]

Shall we?

[ If that doesn't tell them anything, nothing will. Sam sighs shortly, nodding as if suddenly overcome with weariness. It's already been a long day, but what else is new? Every day is a long day in his life and all he can do is buck up and soldier on. ]

Be careful. [ It goes without saying; they have no idea the extent of the Core's power. He frowns, turning from Blake to the door, putting his hand against it, ready to push the thing open as much as they can. ]

Yeah. One, two--

[ Blake nods and between the two of them, the door comes open on three. The light inside is flickering, not at all like the solid light Blake had experienced the last time.

Almost immediately, a wave on nausea washes over John and he feels simultaneously like he's going to retch and pass out at the same time. His hand slips and and help he was offering to keep the door open falls away. ]

[ Sam notices, too; it's almost like the light is failing and it's either a very good sign or (more likely) a very bad sign. He winces, pain shooting through his temples as if a dart passed through, and he stumbles back, half-collapsing for a moment.

It takes a while. The door is closed when he comes back to himself, vision blurry at first. ]

... Hey. [ Sam shakes his head firmly, gritting his teeth. ] Blake, you okay?

[oversight]

[ A hand comes up to indicate he's fine, but the other is braced against the wall as Blake dry heaves. He's glad he hadn't filled his stomach before coming along. Then again, nothing on the too-gray, colorless side of Wonderland feels any bit appetizing to him.

When he's finally manages to get his angry, unstable systems under control, John straightens up and pinches his eyes closed. ]

[ Fucking Wonderland. ]

Didn't expect it to be a picnic.

[ A wave of nausea courses through him and he tights his hands into fists, fighting the wash of general badness that the Core has seemingly instilled in them both. ]

... Anything? Jesus. I don't think - [ urk ] ... Don't think I got much out of that.

I now know that... we've got bad ideas. Real bad ideas.

[ But otherwise, John's at a loss for anything more than inklings. Something about this doesn't feel right, but what's that really saying? ]
