OTA ; Don't Stop, Make it Pop, DJ Blow My Speakers Up
Who: Lucifer Morningstar and OTA
Where: Deux Lux, Floor 6, Room 66
When: Anytime in March
Rating: TBD, probably PG-13 or so
Summary: Lucifer does what he does almost every other night - he has a party. Shenanigans and conversation ensue. This is essentially a catch-all for March for him. Let me know if you want something specific.
The Story:
[Once the drama of New Years dies down and he's drunk the entirely of his bar two or more times, Lucifer finally reopens his club to the public, seemingly no worse for the wear. He's chatted with a few specific people, reflected (marginally) on himself a bit, and has come to several conclusions.
All of which he'll be keeping to himself for the most part.
That said, he seems a bit brighter than even when he first arrived, as if there's a bit of weight off his shoulders, and he's almost less of a businessman and more of a guest in his own place as the nights continue on. He drinks along with everyone else, dances when he pleases, and plays the piano often, lending his singing voice more than occasionally.
Still, a few things weight on his mind that he'll need to take care of, but on the whole, he's quite chipper and easily approaching....or as approachable as the Devil can be.
That said, he's not seen a whole lot outside of his nightclub or his penthouse up the stairs, which means he might be a little more reclusive still than he first appears...]

[Not that he would likely actually bother since there's no currency to actually be made. Word got around quickly enough.
Lucifer takes the man's hand and gives it a firm shake.]
Lucifer. Welcome to the best place in Wonderland if I do say so myself.
no subject
[She is wanted by the feds and yet doesn't seem to have been in shoot outs over it.
Seth's mouth opens and then closes. He chuckles.]
I like the name. Definitely sets a mood when everyone else is telling me I'm in fairytale land.
no subject
[This place is definitely no fairy tale.]
But that's what liquor and sex are for, right? Makes one forget all about the unpleasantries. [A beat.] But yes, I'm quite fond of the name myself.
no subject
[Not even talking Kate and Richie, but others. If it came from his brother or Kate, it was truth. Much else came with a grain of salt... and a lot more shots of tequila than he wants to admit to.]
That sounds about the best way to spend my time here, honestly. Might not go over well with some, but choices are few they tell me.
[He pauses, taking a sip.] Parents eccentric or took it on to piss them off?
no subject
[He takes a sip of his own drink.]
A little bit of both, but mostly the latter. Dad did always have quite the temper.
no subject
I admit, not sure I would want everyone showing up about everything that happens here. Odds are eventually people will have to chose sides, and I want the side with the knowledge and the power if it comes to that.
[Which is maybe an odd way for him to speak, but it's the truth.]
So, I'm curious. If humans tend to do that, what do you tend to do?
[Edging into it, figuring asking outright might lead to an attack of some kind, and honestly Seth at least wants to finish his drink first.]
no subject
[He tilts his head at him, looking him up and down for a moment.]
I don't tell people what to do if that's what you're asking. Humans will do what they want to do regardless of what they're told, in the end. It doesn't particularly matter here, regardless. Favors and deals don't have the punch they do back home. Less politics, more danger.
Thankfully, I'm incredibly difficult to kill. Or...impossible really. For the most part.
no subject
[Which isn't the best way to go about things, but he's been there such a short time so that alcohol and not taking it all too seriously is the order of the day.
Except he shifts then, feet sliding a bit further apart, bracing himself. On edge is the name of the game for Seth lately, but the way Lucifer is talking, it definitely has the hairs on the back of his neck on end. ]
Begs the question then. If you aren't human and you're hard to kill, what are you?
[Because despite the name, and the obviousness of it, it just isn't normal even for someone that has seen what Seth has to jump from vampires and talk of zombies to Hello Satan.]
no subject
[If Lucifer notices his discomfort, he doesn't comment on it, his own posture completely straight and yet relaxed.]
Why, I'm the Devil, of course. You did recognize the name, didn't you? [A beat.] Though I'm trying to break away from the title, in a way. If I call myself an angel, people tend to get the wrong idea and all. It's complicated.
no subject
[He let's the words trail off, looking over this man announcing he is a fallen angel, the Devil himself.]
I wouldn't be the first to wonder if this is Hell then, right?
[He's not sure if he's believing it or not, but what else is he supposed to say?]
no subject
[He shakes his head.]
This isn't Hell. It's certainly no paradise, but Hell is far worse. Wonderland may even be more of a vacation than Earth at times, if it weren't also a prison of sorts. [He smiles.] Then again, what isn't?
no subject
[He isn't even thinking of the time that he spent in actual prison.
He's taking a drink too, even if he's not laughing.]
The part about that I really dislike? Believing then that the Duchess or Alice or whoever the fuck is behind this place is strong enough to pull Satan into their twisted little fairytale. That's probably the least comforting thing I've heard since I got here.
[And he's heard a lot that left him uneasy.]
no subject
[Then again, perhaps that's why he chose to live with them when he escaped from Hell.]
First of all, my name is Lucifer, not Satan. And second...actually I quite agree with you on the rest. Though from my understanding it's not someone dragging us here, but the very place itself. Alice is quite similar to us, actually, except she's been here far longer. The Duchess on the other hand...that woman has at least a dozen screws loose. I'm more inclined to blame one of the Queens, but I'm not sure they're powerful enough to pull any of this off, either.
no subject
I would say I don't believe in it all, no offense, but I've seen so much shit lately who knows what the reality of death is but I'm not letting any of it change how I live my life.
[If he is going to Hell, that's already a done dealing and he isn't likely to be sucking up to some omnipotent being just to change that.]
Lucifer, got it. [Nodding, though a brow arches as he goes on.] See, that's me right now. You run a show like this? You're not putting your real face out there. Always the underlings. That way if there's a revolt, no one is actually coming for you personally. Now...
[He falls silent, staring at this man and what his story is. Putting that together with the memory things he's heard, the events and all that they can do to a person, to this place. Hell, bringing people from back from the dead. All of it added up to a lot, which is why he's not dismissing this man's story out of hand.]
You're telling the truth and you're who you say you are? They're not showing their real face. Not when they can do that and risk you, or others they've brought here, turning on them and leading the resistance.
no subject
[He has ways to prove it, of course, but it often results in madness, so he doesn't do it very often.]
I certainly haven't let it change how I enjoy mine, either, so I'm quite firmly on your side of things.
[Then again, he left Hell, but shhhh.]
It's not an intelligent move to stick your own neck out when there are others who can do it for you, no. That said, anyone who can manifest all of this- [He gestures around him, indicating the dimension itself, not...his bar.] -I'm certainly not capable of it. My Father could, of course. Or my Mother, but I doubt either of them would bother...or be able to as the case may be, since the latter is quite indisposed.
no subject
[Given what he knows in the world now, Seth is more likely to believe in Lucifer than God anyway.]
It's the storybook face. I don't believe Wonderland was real and some English guy wrote about it, so I don't believe what we're seeing is the truth and not some kind of facade. Course, I've been here days even, and I'm told eventually I'll accept it all.
[Seth isn't sure about that. He accepts he's in a real place, he just thinks Alice and all are a face and not the reality of the place.]
Okay, here's being nosy then since I don't remember it in any of my religious moments. Who's your mom? Lilith? [It's a name he remembers, at least.]
no subject
[#daddyissues]
I haven't accepted it. I have no choice but to be here, but something will change eventually. It always does, even if it takes millennia.
[Dad's little project certainly did, as did Hell, after all.]
She's just Mum. Nobody really knows about her these days, or ever, considering she's been locked up in Hell of eons. It's for the best, really. She's no better than dear ol' Dad.
no subject
[It's a regular old meeting of men with daddy issues.]
And apparently we have that long without anything changing if what everyone is telling me is true.
[It was odd for Seth, but he also liked the idea he could not age here. He wouldn't grow older while Richie stayed the same. He wouldn't be leaving Richie to bury him as long as they were in this place.]
I have to say, I never thought about how angels came into being. They just kind of were, not with parents and all.
no subject
[Said as if he's just talking about some asshole and not God.]
Yes, I've heard that as well. Immortality does not seem to be in short supplies in these parts. That said, it's still quite a bit easier for you to die than I, but the powers at be like to perform miracles and bring people back from the dead. It's quite the show.
[Lucifer swirls the drink in his glass.]
I'm not modern science meant for the Big Bang to be quite so literal when they decided on that name, but they weren't far off, really.
no subject
<small.[Seth makes a face at that, swallowing down what was left in his glass and reaching for the new one that was left for him. He considers downing it in one gulp, but instead takes a drink, trying to hold himself back from wallowing in alcohol. He starts that and it's not long before he's doing worse, and he knows it.]</small>
Not a show I have any plans of participating in. I plan on having one death in this world and it better fucking stick.
<small.[Yeah, he almost can taste his own bitterness. Fuck.]</small>
Well that's either really creepy, or pretty cool. Not that different and all that. Except the wings, immortality, parents that are gods. Like that.
no subject
[Such was the rules of the land. Die and come back lacking a memory. Lucifer wouldn't know personally, however.]
Cut my wings off, actually. Burned them too. I used to have them, though.
damn. I'm so sorry. >.<
[He isn't counting on Wonderland working out so well, but his ego will hold on to getting what it is he wants back in his world.
Of course, Lucifer is apparently wonderful at distraction. Seth just stares at him for a long time, not even sure what to think about that.]
Okay, I'll bite. [He's playing this as accepting it all, and he's not sure if he does or not but with Wonderland he has no reason not to. Or at least not to try.] Why would you do that?
<3333
[Distraction is, in fact, one of his greatest talents. He uses it on himself all the time.]
My Father did always like his metaphors. Removing the thing that made me one of his divine angels certainly set a message, don't you agree? Not to mention it's a little bit difficult to run Hell without them considering they were a source of my power.
no subject
[He knew how Richie managed it, healing from what he was. So how then does the normal human get themselves killed and come back perfectly fine? It rubs him the wrong way and he hasn't hidden that from anyone he's talked to.]
Wait, so you gave up all your power? Or just what you needed to punish souls and run lakes of fire and all?
no subject
[Lucifer doesn't like not knowing the answer or having someone to interrogate in order to get it, but he's been here long enough that the real fury behind that has died down most of the time.]
There isn't quite as much fire as you would think. A lot of ash, however. [Enough that it looks like it's snowing.] But no, certainly not all of it. But I can't exactly fly anymore, now can I?
[Among other things.]
