Summary:
The Story:
Sometime before nine o'clock rolls around, those who know their way begin heading towards the resistance hideout in the woods -- or Fort Dixon-Potter, as its come to be known. To any who have been invited to attend but don't quite know how to get there, Daryl Dixon has made himself available to escort people to the meeting, letting people in a few at a time.

Though the resistance's de facto leader is no longer with them, several veteran members have chosen to make use of their resources and bring as many more people into the fold as they can. There's food provided for all who attend: burgers, hot dogs, and other standard cookout fare to be passed around throughout the evening. Notebooks will be handed to all new members, and all will be asked to sign their names on the official roster, for reasons. It's time to discuss how to move forward with Operation: Anti-Jabberwocky. If anyone has questions about the last eight months or so in Wonderland? Now is the time to ask.

[Natasha had been the one to pass the word on about tonight's little meeting to him - despite the fact that Steve wanted to keep him safely tucked away. Natasha's pretty sure that wouldn't work however, and she'd rather have him involved where they can keep an eye on him rather than him sneaking off to help somewhere instead.

About halfway through the evening, she meanders over in his direction with a fond smile, having noticed the way he's been lurking and paying attention to everything around him.]

Hey, kiddo. Learn anything interesting?

[ Mostly, he's been sitting around and listening.

He smiles seeing his mo- Natasha coming over to him. ]

Not really. Everyone seems to be treating it like a party. I haven't had a chance to talk to the ones that seem to be in charge.

Still trying to figure out who all's in charge myself. [She admits this with a smile and a glance around the room.] Although it seems to be a few people, rather than one person. I think they all have specific groups they're heading, though, depending on what skills people have.

[ James admits he hasn’t figured it out either. ]

I think the blonde lady is part of it.

[ He points off toward where Jo is mingling with a few people. ]

She seems to be making the rounds. The dark-haired guy with glasses is helping with notebooks, or was.

[ A nod to where James Potter is. ]

They’re about as close as I’ve gotten.

[Natasha glances over when he points out Jo, someone she hasn't gotten to meet yet, but that now she might want to. She hasn't met the young man, either, but Emma had helpfully pointed him out for her.]

His name is James Potter, apparently. Supposedly he's a wizard. There's a woman also helping him with the journals, Emma is her name. She pointed me in the direction of some of the group leaders, but I haven't spoke to them yet.

[She glances back to him with a faint smile.] Did you get a journal for yourself?

James Potter?

[ James hasn’t met him yet. He picked up one of the journals and listened in on one of the explanations, so he knows how it works. ]

I did. I thought it best to get my own.

[ He hoped that everyone had their own. Plus, he knew that Tony would need someone to monitor the notebooks. ]

Same. [She holds hers up a moment, then flips through it curiously.] Supposedly it's magic as well. Potter's, I think, not Wonderland's. Charmed so anything in it will remain secret.

Magic?

[ James is skeptical. Magic is always explainable. Even if you aren't sure how yet. ]

Who are we keeping secrets from?

The other side of the mirrors, from what I can gather. The Queens, most likely, but the doubles supposedly belong to one of them, so that goes hand in hand.

I read about the doubles.

[ He actually read the brochure for newbies. ]

I haven’t seen mine yet. Have you seen yours?

[So had she, but she'd also found more than a few willing neighbors to help fill in the blanks as well.

His question has her shaking her head in answer.]

I haven't personally, no. A few of the others have, I believe, but if I have one over there, they haven't made themselves known yet. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not, considering.

[ James has actually imagined what his mirror looks and acts like, but he doesn’t want to think about him. Because that had just been creepy thinking about it. ]

Do we know how many are on the opposite side of the mirror? Or even how many are here?

Not that I've heard. Last estimation was around a hundred or so, I heard. Then again, that was before our group showed up, so that might have knocked us over that number. Not sure anyone's gone around counting heads recently.

And as for the other side of the mirror... [She sighs, looking perturbed.] That place just keeps creating new questions before we're even close to answering the first ones.

[ James nods, because he’s taken to writing down his questions so he doesn’t forget anything. He’s been too busyto really track down anyone to get answers, though. He’s not even sure who to track down. ]

Do we even know who to ask the questions of?

[ Because if she does, he’ll track them down and ask. ]

About the other side? [She laughs wryly, because she's been keeping track of the same, with little luck.] Your guess is as good as mine. Unless we can hunt down one of the doubles, I think most people on this side know as much as we do.

[ James hates not knowing. Hates it. There’s got to be someone to ask the questions of. ]

Maybe I should mingle some more and see? Someone has to know something.

[widows_kiss]

[She inclines her head at that.]

It couldn't hurt. I plan to do the same. Let me know if you hear anything interesting?

[ James nods. ]

Of course. I’ll talk to you once I’m done with Tony.

[She gives him a smile and lifts her hand in a faint wave, stepping away again to leave him to it.]
