Summary: A catch all for the Horrible Memory Truth Event!
The Story:

For the duration of this event, everyone's entire room will be replaced with a memory playing on loop. They will likely recognize the moment as soon as they see it – it is a moment they remember as the worst moment of their entire lives. It could be a memory from home or something that happened in Wonderland. Lengths of the memories will vary, but they will find that these are not memories they can merely watch – they can step into these memories and attempt to make changes to them, and the memories will be long enough that they have time to make changes (though no more than 24 hours). However, anyone who tries will find that it is futile. No matter what you do or how hard you try, the outcome is always exactly the same somehow. No changes you make will prevent that horrible outcome. It just happens over and over and over again no matter what you do.

On top of that, perhaps complicating any attempts to make changes, everyone will be forced to be honest for the duration of the event. No lies or half-truths are allowed, and filters will be gone for the entire five days. If something bothers someone then they will blurt it out, regardless of whether or not it hurts someone's feelings, and no one will be able to simply keep quiet when they have something to say. They must be truthful and honest with every word they say.

This is a catch-all log for all of your Worst Memory needs! Please mark your threads clearly in the subject line with your character's name and Room Number + Floor for character rooms, or just location if you're making a top level for a public place in the mansion (like the tea rooms or the kitchen) so people can see if there's already a thread available. And here's the plot post if you need it!

Hee... Heehee... You need to lay down so I can properly examine you... It's likely you've got a broken bone, and could be suffering from a concussion... Heeheeheehee....

Inside the room, Mikan Tsumiki is at the clinic looking... rather deranged. Friend and stranger alike had been invited there for a friendly check-up, only to wind up with a metal bat to the face - or a tazer to the stomach - knives, pipes, needles, all kinds of weapons had been used in a desperate attempt to make her feel useful again. If people got hurt, they would need her nursing skills.

Doctors and patients can always be friends... but you need to listen to your nurse. I need to heal you... let me heal you... Let me heal you! Let me heal you!

With every "patient" that had fought back, Mikan grew more and more hysteric. Thankfully no one had died, they all escaped one way or another. But the memory looks back to her tricking people into coming. You might even hear her screaming from the hallway.

I HAVE TO HEAL YOU! IT'S WHAT I DO! IT'S ALL I CAN DO! LET ME DO MY JOB! LET ME USE MY TALENT! STOP BULLYING ME! STOP BULLYING MEEEEEEEEE!

Mikan of the then and now still hasn't forgiven herself for what she's done, even though others have, even though it was the influence of Wonderland. She's afraid of her classmates finding out about this, and as a result she's planted herself outside of the door, determined to keep people out.

... But she's only human, and she needs to eat/etc. So if you don't find her sitting in front of the door with books and food, you could waltz right in and discover what all that screaming is about.

[So Kokichi pokes his head in while Mikan was out and...]

[Well, now she has a grumpy Supreme Leader standing outside the door with his arms crossed, waiting for her return. Care to explain, buddy?]

[Mikan soon returns with arm-loads of food... which she instantly drops when she sees someone there.]

Kokichi?! W-what are you - please tell me you didn't go inside!

[... He gives her a stern nod, glancing at the door.]

[Got anything to say for yourself, and what exactly happened in there?]

Nooo!

[She clutches her hair, dropping to her knees.]

I didn't want you to see that - I didn't want any of my precious friends to see it! Please don't leave me! It's okay if you hate me, just don't leave me alone!

[She hadn't meant to say most of that latter part but, well.]

[Papyrus happened to walk by Mikan's door when she wasn't there blocking it. He stopped, staring at the door. Was she...in there? With her worst possible memory? No, that can't happen! As much as he didn't want to pry into other peoples' secrets, he wanted to make sure that Mikan was safe. So, he pries open the door and -

Wait. Why was he here in this memory? Did her worst memory happen when he was here prior? Now, he felt like he had to watch out of morbid curiosity, to see what has happened during his previous times here.

He watches as the past Papyrus walks in. He watches as Mikan brings down the hammer and crushes his arm. She tries to persuade him to take a seat so that she can fix him up, only for him to refuse and to, ultimately, throw a well placed bone at her.

Mikan...there was much more to her than he initially thought. It was surprising, to say the least, but...he's still seen the good in her. He knows that she can overcome this horrible, horrible memory.

Still, despite all of that, he shuts the door with a shocked look on his face. Hopefully he can hide it until the real Mikan comes back...]

[The second Mikan sees Papyrus, she drops all she's been holding - a combination of food and books - and screams.]

Nooooo!

[She then scrambles over, fresh tears streaming down her cheeks.]

Please don't go in there, please, please!

[She didn't want him to look. But...he already did. His eyes are now casting down towards the floor.]

I'M...I'M SORRY, MIKAN, I'VE ALREADY LOOKED. I HEARD SCREAMING AND I THOUGHT YOU WERE IN THERE, BUT...

[He trails off, feeling incredibly guilty.]

I SHOULDN'T HAVE LOOKED IN, I'M SORRY.

[He saw... he, of all people, saw...

She drops to her knee,s hands to her face, wailing.]

Uuu... I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry... Please don't leave me, please, please, even if you hate me, just don't leave meee...

It's definitely a feeling of "shouldn't but totally will" that pushes Mettaton to look into what he figures is Mikan's room when he passes by. He's seen a small sliver of the intense undertows that flow under Mikan's ocean and he must admit he is... curious. What reasoning does she have to hate herself so much?

He opens the door, peers in, and his eyes widen as he watches Mikan spring her different traps. It's chilling. Not only to see her usually tentative and cautious face twisted into such sick derangement, but also to see people he knows, people he recognizes from Wonderland, fight her off. Though there is one human male who gets some trouble that makes Mettaton smirk a bit. Good. Take that, asshole.

He's not entirely gobsmacked, at the very least. Her behavior reminds him of how she was back in Quor'toth, though that's not a memory he likes thinking about much. After watching the memory he closes the door, contemplative.

And that's when Mikan returns - dropping her books and food in shock.

"Mettaton?!" She cries out, panic filling her bones. "P-Please tell me you didn't go inside! Please tell me you didn't see anything!"

If this were any other day in Wonderland, Mettaton would lie immediately. Calm her fears and smooth it all over. As it stands, this event is a one-two-punch and when he opens his mouth to lie, out comes the truth.

"I didn't go inside, no, but I opened the door. I saw everything."

He looks immediately shocked at his own words.

"I. I didn't mean to say that."

"No... No... NOOOO!"

She screams it out, tears instantly filling her eyes. Her feelings for Mettaton were still very deep - and she'd already horrified him once down in that deep dark place so many events ago. That had nearly destroyed their bond. This... what would this do?

"No, no, no! I never wanted you to see that! I didn't want you to see that ugly side of me! Why, why did you go look?!"

Mikan couldn't logically stay in front of the door forever. She needed to eat, and she could use a distraction from the worst day of her life being played on repeat. But she can't afford to stay away from her door for too long, so for both places, she is going as frantic and quickly as possible. In both places, she is sobbing hysterically, still remembering the horrors of her room.

At the library, Mikan is pulling out every and any book she can grab. She's not even bothering to look at the title or contents, she can't afford to waste that much time.

At the kitchen, she forgoes her usual method of slowly putting things on a tray in favor of shoving mushed sandwiches and bottles of water in her arms, as many as she can carry.

[Going into the library was a much needed break from watching her own horrid memory over and over again. Sayaka lets out a sigh as she steps in, but as soon as she begins to settle down, she could hear some sobbing. She curiously steps closer to the source of the sound and is immediately saddened.]

Mikan-chan?!

[Seeing Mikan cry is enough to break anyone's heart. In an instant, she rushes to her side and even helps her with the books. But for now, figuring out what happened was the most important thing on her mind.]

I'm here, you can talk to me. What happened?

[But Mikan immediately steps back, afraid - because talking will make things worse.]

I-I have to get back to my room before anyone sees what's inside! You can't go there, please don't go there!

[idolings]

[Sayaka does notice the sudden step back, which struck her curiousity and worried her at the same time. Her worries were only beginning to grow from what Mikan had to say about her room.]

Okay, I promise that I won't step inside your room. You have my word, Mikan-chan.

[It must be pretty bad for her to say something like that. She couldn't help but wonder if it had something to do with the murdergame that Mikan got forced into.]

Um, is there anything I can do to help you? I'm here for you.

You can't help me, you can't go near my room at all!

[She's trembling - please please please, she can't have Sayaka find out, not the person who's been so good to her]

You can't, you can't, you can't!

[ Not again. Mondo always chooses the worst timing to waltz into food places, be it the dining room or the kitchen. Now that he's already here, there's no way he can just waltz out like he saw nothing, right? Tsumiki's face is raining quite heavily there, and it's pretty audibly... storming. Goddammit, he never knows what to do on these situations but it's hard to ignore the amount of things she's trying to cradle in those tiny arms. ] ...Tch. [ Of course he has to click his tongue before anything else. ] Gimme some. Where're you carryin' these to?

No!

[Mikan suddenly turns around, dropping some of her food but not bothering to pick it up.]

You can't come with me! You mustn't come anywhere near my room! Please, you have to stay away!

[ Tsumiki has always been frantic, but this... feels particularly different. She just goes straight to the point with her plead. Come to think of it, he's been finding himself unable to control his tongue from time to time, too. Is there some connection there?

Ahh, whatever. More importantly, what she's saying about the room... judging from what Mondo has seen in his, it must've been the same for her. After all, that's what happened to some others he's encountered along the way here. It'd be exactly like what Alice warned them about ー the worst thing to happen to them ー for him, had he come after the mindscape fiasco happened. ]

Alright, alright, calm down. [ He begins picking her things up from the floor. ] 'm not goin' there, so chill out. 'Sides, haven't I seen all those stuff anyway? [ Since he's seen some of Tsumiki's... supposedly worst memories. Maybe not all, but how much worse can it be? He's seeing the same old shit in his room anyway. ]

[ This is relatable content. Maybe not the exact actions themselves, but definitely the overall sense of desperation and anxiety. Like. Morty gets that. And current events considered, it's been a pretty common sight.

To his thinking in regards to his own room, he figures at least half the mansion is avoiding bedrooms on the honor system and the other half doesn't know or give a crap about seeing his, so he's... safeish. Maybe. He did the lock and key thing just in case. ]

I can try and find you a bag or something for all that if you want. You kinda look like you're on the fast track to just dropping stuff, you know?

Eek!

[Startled, she hadn't expected anyone to try and talk to her. She winds up dropping a few things, and scrambles to pick them back up, not caring if anything's mushed or broken.]

No, no, it's fine, it's not fine but it's fine, I can't stay, I have to go back to my room!

[ Oh boy. Jeez.

He reaches out like he's going to pick up a couple of things for her, but doesn't wind up getting to that point. It looks like he might get in her way and mess up her mojo a little more. ]

O-oh, memory trouble, huh? If you got the stuff out of a hall closet, I bet you could put some boards across it. I thought about doing that with mine once I figured out you can't really change anything.
