Summary: The Red Queen has thrown a carnival for everyone!
The Story:


From Friday, March 9, through Friday, March 16, the gardens and grounds of the Mansion will be a sprawling a carnival. The masked, unspeaking vendors will be selling trinkets and running free game booths. Carnival rides, exhibits, and foods represent all of the various cultures of those currently residing in the Mansion.


Of particular note, and perhaps incongruously, everything is decorated with red hearts.

Use this log for any and all of your carnival needs!

[Minato hugged the catpuccino close and smiled.]

Why not? He deserves a home too, right?

[noreason]

[Naoki turned the bear to face him and made a face.]

Maybe not.

[jivitadana]

That's okay. You can leave him here and it should go away?

[This carnival couldn't and wouldn't last forever. If the bear was left her, it would disappear.]

[noreason]

We'll see. You never know if someone might like it. I'll carry it around a while longer.

[jivitadana]

[It was up to Naoki. Minato nodded.]

But how are you going to carry them if we go on some of the rides?

[noreason]

They can sit on the ground and wait. I'm sure they won't get too sad.

[jivitadana]

[Aw, but that is kind of sad! Minato petted all of them.]

If we go on the ferris wheel, they can all come along?

[noreason]

Of course. They won't fly out of a ferris wheel.

[He smirks.]

Ferris wheels are for couples, though. Aren't you taken?

[jivitadana]

[At that, Minato blinked at Naoki and then easily slid into a smile, warmer than his usual and normal small ones.]

It's that obvious, isn't it.

[noreason]

Your poker face isn't as good as you think.

[jivitadana]

[Hey, he takes pride in that poker face!]

I'll have to work on that.

[noreason]

Either way, I don't think the Ferris wheel is for us.

[jivitadana]

How about a roller coaster?

[You know all those people that scream and react on one of those? Yeah, not this dude.]

[noreason]

Perfect.

[He looks around and then points toward the nearest one, which also happens to be the biggest.]

That one.

[jivitadana]

You're on.

[Minato was totally cool with the roller coaster. He started to walk that way with Naoki, helping to carry all of the plushies until they found a locker for them.]

No bailing on me.

[Since Naoki could probably jump out of the roller coaster at any time and land on the ground unscathed.]

[noreason]

Never.

[They found a place to stash the plushies and then went to the roller coaster and boarded.]

Alright! Here we go.

[jivitadana]

[See you later, plushies! Minato was now on the ride and feeling the wind in his face and thinking that it had been a very long time since he last did this.

He looked over at Naoki on occasion when he could. He liked the way the teal glow seemed to stream away from Naoki. It looked really cool.]

[noreason]

[Naoki wasn't the type to yell or scream on a ride like this. Instead, he just laughed a few times, enjoying the physical sensation of moving so quickly through the air.

When it's over and he stumbles out of the car, he turns to look at Minato.]

I haven't done that in a long time!

[jivitadana]

Me neither. It was fun.

[They both were pretty much unscathed when they came off the ride.]

Another one?

[noreason]

Yeah!

[Naoki nudges Minato's shoulder in the direction of the next ride.]

[jivitadana]

[Minato smiled and followed Naoki over to that other ride. It was one of those where their feet dangled as they went through all of those loops. He liked hanging out at this carnival. It was fun.]

It makes me miss home sometimes.

[noreason]

Did you do this kind of thing at home much?

[jivitadana]

[Minato shook his head.]

Maybe once, when I was younger. What about you?

[noreason]

A couple times. Once as a kid and once in middle school.

[jivitadana]

There wasn't a lot of time for that, right?
