[Honestly she just figures he might be dressed up for one of the booths.]

That's part of the fun.

[Daisy looks up at the ferris wheel briefly before looking to him.]

Want to go check it out? I haven't been on it yet.

Well... Alright. Why not? [He smiles, then remembers his manners!] Ben Tallmadge. It's nice to meet you.

[He offers a hand.]

[Daisy quickly switches the corn dog to her other hand.]

Daisy, nice to meet you. Should probably get in line before it gets long again.

[Which is why she's leading the way over to the small line.]

So you've really never been on one of these before?

Right, right. [He follows alongside her so they can get a good spot in the queue.]

And, ah, no, I'm sorry to say I haven't. [He admits this rather sheepishly.] At home, the year is 1777. This is very new to me, to say the least.

[There are actually things called pleasure wheels, large rotating swings, in Europe and England, but none quite like this one at this scale.]

Wow. That's, uh, a huge leap for you then.

[She thought the time period that Peggy came from was ancient...]

I guess there's a lot for you to get used to then. It's not as scary as it looks though, and doesn't go fast like that roller coaster over there.

[He nods and shrugs lightly.] I've finally caught up to the early 21st century, studying history, but there's nothing like really experiencing something for yourself.

I think I'll take your word for it, and it'll be nice to see the grounds from that angle. [It's new, it's a little frightening, but Ben does like to learn new things.]

Exactly. Especially when some of it must sound really inconceivable to you. Like electricity.

[Moving up in the line when others started to get on, Daisy looks up at him with a small smile.]

This one is nothing compared to the one in Coney Island. They have swinging cars at that one.

[Stepping inside the car that was slowly moving, Daisy moves over quickly to give him room.]

If you get scared, well, you're kind of screwed until we get back down again.

[She's joking.

...

Okay she's really not joking, but, she's smiling regardless.]

[He settles in next to her and he laughs.] I think I'll be alright.

[There's a pause that basically screams "...probably." But he seems to be handling it well enough. Truthfully, Ben can feel fluttering in his chest from the movement of them being moved and lifted by machinery.]

I've read about Coney Island. I grew up on Long Island, actually, so it's surprising that a sad sandbar became so famous.

[Compared to the rest of the rides here, it's the tamest one, but she does look at Ben to make sure he isn't about to lose it. Not that they can really do much at this point.]

Really? I grew up in Manhattan. Never really made it out that way much.

I mean, it's still pretty sad, but there's a lot of businesses there now.

[As they slowly approach the top, Daisy is looking out behind them to see the view from this height.]

Never really get to see Wonderland like this. I mean, I guess you do if you can fly...

[Ben turns and cranes his neck to follow her gaze, then immediately regrets it.

It's not that the scenery isn't stunning, but he has quite literally never been up this high. He blinks, feeling the world sway, and he turns back around to face forward (also not much better).

He isn't green or anything, but boy, does he look a little shocked. All things considered? He has a decent poker face.]

...I think it's lovely. And. Ah. I haven't been to York City since we had to surrender it, but... I've seen pictures of how it changes through history, spreads out with towers of glass.
