Summary: The Red Queen has thrown a carnival for everyone!
The Story:


From Friday, March 9, through Friday, March 16, the gardens and grounds of the Mansion will be a sprawling a carnival. The masked, unspeaking vendors will be selling trinkets and running free game booths. Carnival rides, exhibits, and foods represent all of the various cultures of those currently residing in the Mansion.


Of particular note, and perhaps incongruously, everything is decorated with red hearts.

I think I saw some over there. [He gestures off from the way he'd come before.] Want to go check it out?

[mourning_ghost]

Yeah. Thanks.

[He heads in the direction Naoki had indicated.]

[noreason]

[Naoki leads the way.]

Have you ever had one before?

[A candied apple.]

[mourning_ghost]

[Nageki shakes his head.]

I wasn't able to go to a place like this before, but my family told me about it. [And later Miss Tousaka had as well.]

[noreason]

Well, you get to see it in person now. [He smiles as he looks to either side, trying to find those candied apples.]

[mourning_ghost]

Yeah. It's fun. [He can see why his siblings enjoyed festivals now.]

[Nageki joins in the search by flying up above people's heads. When he sees them, he flies back down to Naoki.]

I found them.

[He makes his way on foot to the place in question so that Naoki will be able to follow.]

[noreason]

[Naoki does follow, tagging along happily. When they reach the right stall, he looks over the apples.]

They look good! Here.

[He grabs a couple and holds one out to Nageki.]

[mourning_ghost]

[Nageki accepts it happily and starts eating it. After the first bite he pauses.]

It's... very sweet.

[He's not sure if that's good or bad.]

[noreason]

Yeah. I think it's best to eat something salty after one of these, so it balances the flavor.

[mourning_ghost]

I don't think I'll feel like eating anything else after this.

[noreason]

Well, luckily you don't have to eat the whole thing if you don't feel like it.

[mourning_ghost]

Yeah. [He takes another bite.]

In a carnival... is there a game you'd recommend? Or food?

[noreason]

The dart game is pretty good. It's not too hard. The one where you catch goldfish is hard.

[mourning_ghost]

...dart game?

[There might be some gaps in Nageki's knowledge of carnivals.]

[noreason]

Here, I'll show you.

[He gestures for Nageki to follow him off to the game booths.]

It's easy, you just throw darts at balloons and try to pop them.

[mourning_ghost]

[Nageki follows, still nibbling on his apple.]

It does sound simple.

[He was under the impression that it wouldn't be that easy, but Naoki would know more than Nageki would.] How many do you need to pop?

[noreason]

[Naoki glances around for some indication. He finally finds a small sign that says it's three balloons for a prize.]

It looks like three. But let's see who can hit the most before he misses.

[mourning_ghost]

[Nageki looks in the same direction Naoki did and also spots the sign.]

Ah, alright. [It looks like fun. He grabs the darts for himself and Naoki.] Can you go first?

[Since Naoki knows this game, Nageki wants to see how Naoki throws the darts.]

[noreason]

[Naoki nods and grabs a dart. He aims, but only kind of vaguely, since the darts are weighted oddly, and then throws it, popping a balloon.

He manages to pop four balloons in a row before missing the fifth. He looks a little disappointed, but shrugs it off.]

Eh...well that's that.

[He turns to Nageki.]
