Summary: The Red Queen has thrown a carnival for everyone!
The Story:


From Friday, March 9, through Friday, March 16, the gardens and grounds of the Mansion will be a sprawling a carnival. The masked, unspeaking vendors will be selling trinkets and running free game booths. Carnival rides, exhibits, and foods represent all of the various cultures of those currently residing in the Mansion.


Of particular note, and perhaps incongruously, everything is decorated with red hearts.

[ Oh, look who's suddenly running after him! Awkwardly, but she does it!

She is huffing up a storm, her face painted with rage as if he just turned into Yuri. ]

Were you--how did you--

[ SHE IS SO TEMPTED TO PUNT HIM SO HARD. ]

Depends! You want to ride the Ferris wheel with me?

[ A long pause. ]

Do you think I don't spy on my spies? Do you think I'm STUPID?

[ Her hands ball into fists. She thought she'd done a good job locking things down! No one was supposed to see, and! And!

This is such bullshit!!

When she speaks, it's through gritted teeth. She does not like being one-upped. ]

Do you want to sit on the right or the left?

[desbearingly]

[ His paws clap in bearish delight. ]

Oooh! Lets go, lets go! I'll even ask them to stop us at the top!

[ You know! The most romantic gesture! And then, to add insult to injury... he offers her his paw. Soft squishy paw. ]

[ ALL THE PEOPLE SHE LOVES BETTER APPRECIATE HER FUCKING SACRIFICE.

With a quiet moan, she haltingly takes his hand. She puts her other hand over her pocket, which has her device inside, shocked that she'd actually like to be back in it for once.

Ugghhhh his paw feels so weird! And the height difference is making things sooo much worse. ]

Yaaay. Can't wait. So romantic.

[ Maybe she'll jump from the top once they're up there... ]

[ Ah, this is what he lives for! The acceptance! The lack of hope! Once her hand is securely around his paw he gives it a soft, mocking squeeze before walking proudly toward the Ferris wheel. Thankfully, it's not far off.

It's like she was waiting for someone she actually liked to take her there or something.

Of course it doesn't take long to get on and he slips some monopoly money to the card operating the ride with an elbow and a grin. ] Do a bear a favor and stop us at the top, huh?

[ And then he opens the little tub door and looks back at Monika. ]

Ladies first!

[ Everything about this is horrible. Sooo fucking horrible. Where were all her lovers when she needed them? Hmph! She should send them some strongly worded poems.

Monika grumbles quietly and thumps down into the seat, scooting as far to the opposite side as she can with her arms crossed. It's probably futile, but it makes her feel better. ]

Aren't you such a gentlebear? Haha.

[desbearingly]

[ Once she has settled herself in her seat, Monokuma hops into the tub and closes the little plastic door. With a wave at the ride operator he turns and climbs up onto the seat directly next to Monika.

To lay a paw on her thigh. Maybe even digging into a spot where he saw her get stomped on awhile ago by that doofy looking guy with the tie and short hair. ]

So, why do you think I called you up here, Monika-chan?

[ Monika winces, but forces herself not to make a noise. THIS BEAR WILL NOT SEE HER SUFFER.

She grits her teeth, pushing out an exhale. ]

To be even more of an asshole than you usually are?

[desbearingly]

Upupupu!! That's cute, Monika-chan!

[ Smack. Smack. SMACK on her thigh. ]

I was going to just let you have fun today, did you know that? I thought it'd be the nice thing to do since in a week you'll be at your highest despair! But... do you know what I saw?

[ Then his little claws come out to tap on her bruise too. ]

[ FUCKKK. She breathes in sharply with each hit, uncrossing her arms so she can clutch the side of the tub. Kind of regretting the bruise now. Just a tad.

Monika stares pointedly off at the horizon, refusing to think about those claws. ]

My video! I know. Thanks for ruining a nice moment, jeez.

Mmmmmmnope! Well, yeah, that too!

[ He finally stops assaulting her and instead shifts in the seat to stand. He's so light weight that it doesn't really affect the movement of the tub at all. Then he plops himself onto her lap so he can force his way to try and look at her face.

Then, calmly. Is he smiling more somehow? ]

[ He throws his arms up for emphasis. ]

[ Monika shuts her eyes, seriously considering that jump from before. Or maybe shoving him off since he's unrestrained. ]

What about him?

[ Part of her is dreading where this conversation might go, but she's still going to try playing dumb. SHE WILL STICK BY HER LOVE. ]

[desbearingly]

You know he's from my world and just so happened to neglect to tell me he was here when I asked about the others, huh?

[ Almost as if he read her mind, or maybe he's just very self-aware, Monokuma grabs a hold on the side of the tub. His short legs kicking idly over the side of her thigh almost happily as his head tilts and his other paw comes up to his chin. ]

I know you aren't trying to pull a fast one on me, r~ight~?

[ She glares at him. ] I thought you only wanted info on the people you named! Why would I think to tell you?

[ GOD CAN HE PLEASE GET OFF HER LAP? ]

Maybe you should've been more specific!

[desbearingly]

Hmmm... Maybe you're right...

[ But then the Ferris wheel pulls to a stop at the top. Guess his fake money bribe worked... or maybe he was the only one who asked. Either way, it worked out for him. ]

You know, Monika-chan, I have a bomb in me. Every Monokuma does.

[ Despite her unimpressed look, her heart has definitely begun to thump. Even though her experiences with Monokuma have been few, she wouldn't think to doubt the veracity of that statement. ]

That...sounds kind of stupid.

Well, back home I can be remade in seconds. There's no reason for me to care about dying or 'Resurrection'. Honestly, I don't really care about that whole '5 lives' rule.

[ He shrugs a shoulder, his red eye glowing menacingly--very obviously mechanical and bright. ]

If I blew up 5 times to take someone down who spited me, I wouldn't really mind.

[ She musters up the meanest look she can manage. ] Somehow, I'm not surprised.

[ Monika looks at the horizon again, clutching the tub harder. Just when she thought things would be easy for her. ]

I get the point, Teddie.

[ Slowly the Ferris wheel starts to move again and Monokuma gives Monika a pat on the shoulder, still kicking his legs like a child from his cozy spot on her lap. ]

Okay~ Glad we got that covered! I'll go say hello to Ishimaru-kun later! I can hardly BEAR the suspense!

[ She grumbles quietly, fighting the urge to tell him not to hurt Kiyo. But knowing this jerk, it'd only make him want to do it more. ]

Do you really have to sit there?

[desbearingly]

[ And as if for emphasis his leg smacks down onto her thigh again, this time though his aim a little more in the middle of her bruise than the others had been... ]

[ And he finally did it. He got her to make a sound. It's a tiny squeak, but there it is.

Monika grits her teeth so hard she's afraid she'll break them, never wanting to kill something so badly in her life. ]
