Summary: The Red Queen has thrown a carnival for everyone!
The Story:


From Friday, March 9, through Friday, March 16, the gardens and grounds of the Mansion will be a sprawling a carnival. The masked, unspeaking vendors will be selling trinkets and running free game booths. Carnival rides, exhibits, and foods represent all of the various cultures of those currently residing in the Mansion.


Of particular note, and perhaps incongruously, everything is decorated with red hearts.

[Rocket actually cackles without taking his eyes off the targets. He fires off a couple more rounds, eliminating two more targets.] What? This? Lady, this is a kid's toy.

Really? Cause I've seen a lot of guns, both real and toys, and that's a new one for me.

[she definitely wants to give it a try though, it looks awesome.]

It don't do actual damage. Now a big one? That'll rip a hole in somebody. And I build those ones for fun.

[Is he bragging? Of course he is.]

You know how to build weapons like this? That's pretty badass. [she's impressed. she's good with firearms but she doesn't know how to make them.]

I know. Wonderland's boring, but at least the closets give me pretty endless parts to work with. I got enough kit to blow this place sky-high if I knew it would do me any damn good.

[But it won't. It'll just be a big mess and everyone will yell at him and ugh. So annoying.]

No, it wouldn't do any good. But I imagine those explosives could still come in handy under the right event or something -- and we all need to figure out how to be less bored between events.

And that is why I stockpile. Unless the grounds up and vanish one day, I got caches everywhere. Depending on the closets all the time is for amateurs.

Yeah, I learned that one the hard way -- my first event was the zombie invasion back in Alexanderia, I've definitely learned to stockpile since then.

[ugh. he rolls his eyes.] I swear, everyone's got at least one zombie event. Unless you're me and then you've been through every frickin' one.

[middlefinger]

I've been through at least three of them now, and that was three too many for my taste. Especially when the last ones I couldn't even kill with a good shot to the head.

[which is like zombies 101. come on, guys.]

Those ones were bullshit. [Anything he can't shoot and kill is a terrible thing and an insult to common decency.] There should be a rule against anything that don't go down by shooting it a lot.

I agree -- this isn't some dumb 80s cartoon, I don't want to save the day with the power of friendship and love like I'm a freakin' Care Bear or something.

[she would much, much rather shoot something.]

Oh, but then it wouldn't be a challenge for all the grizzled old cynics. [He growls and takes another couple of shots at the targets.] 'Cause experience just makes all the shit easier to deal with, and Wonderland can't have that.

[wynonna snorts a little at that.] Right. Wonderland has to keep us guessing, because the old ways of screwing with us get dull after a while.
