Summary: The Red Queen has thrown a carnival for everyone!
The Story:


From Friday, March 9, through Friday, March 16, the gardens and grounds of the Mansion will be a sprawling a carnival. The masked, unspeaking vendors will be selling trinkets and running free game booths. Carnival rides, exhibits, and foods represent all of the various cultures of those currently residing in the Mansion.


Of particular note, and perhaps incongruously, everything is decorated with red hearts.

[Wendy loves carnivals. They're childish, sure, and maybe she should be too cool for them, but she loves it.

So she wanders and plays games, and eats candy apples, and rides all the rides until she's nearly sick, and then she heads for cotton candy.

It's eating that she sees Frank playing, changing course and coming up to stand kind of behind him... and far to one side, and more than a few steps back. She's having a good time, and definitely not stupid. She's not risking being punched for startling him.

Hearing him though, her smile kinds of fades away though she clears her throat to get his attention.]

You could, I don't know, enjoy it for her? I mean, not to be insulting or anything because you totally know I wouldn't, but you could.

[Frank Castle has the worst luck in the world. The one moment he lets his guard down and...witnessed! ]

[Totally convincing, huh? Stand back, because he's going to make a joke. Sort of. ]

Yeah well... I've been learning to clean my room, and practicing at the range and all.

[And being kinda depressed, but she's not even going to admit to that. Especially not to Frank.

She snorts at that, giving him a look.]

I love carnival toys. Weirder the better, but I love them all.

Join the Marines. They'll give you an 8 week clinic on room cleaning. [And boot polishing, and physical training, and that you are nothing but a lowly maggot worm.

But he knows all about being depressed and mopey.]

Yeah, can't stealth forever, or people will forget I'm here. [Surely no one wants that. Truth is, his own lying-low attempt to avoid the hell out of this place hadn't worked and he's a little embarrassed to admit he tried and failed at something.]

[She nearly says family, considering him family as she did the Pines family, but she isn't sure Frank would be okay with that.]

A few things. A spidery thing. Something that looks like a bear... if it was mixed with a zebra. A pair of stuffed ferrets with magnets in their noses.

[She's grinning though, not meaning it cruelly. Not in the least. She likes him enough she kept working him, and fights beside him here.]

Besides, maybe some of these are from the worlds of other people here. Maybe that explains why they're so different, and cute.

[Wendy smirks though at that moment.] Dude, he's a scam artist. He runs a tourist trap with fake supernatural woowoo things to draw people in to spend money. Course the whole place is kind of like here. Woowoo, you know?

He's a good man though. Best boss. He doesn't care if I do what I want.

[Her grin only grows though.]

Oh maybe they have like scary ones. Which would be worse, because like what if they eventually come to life?

[Oh but Wendy laughs at that, nodding.

She pauses though, trying not to laugh at the second part and then giggling, even as she looks around, afraid he might hear.]

Dude, I have no idea, but he... he knows things. I mean, like serious stuff and don't underestimate him. Maybe though.

Not only practicing, but watching others and learning, and getting advice from those at the range.
