Summary: The Red Queen has thrown a carnival for everyone!
The Story:


From Friday, March 9, through Friday, March 16, the gardens and grounds of the Mansion will be a sprawling a carnival. The masked, unspeaking vendors will be selling trinkets and running free game booths. Carnival rides, exhibits, and foods represent all of the various cultures of those currently residing in the Mansion.


Of particular note, and perhaps incongruously, everything is decorated with red hearts.

That was like a month ago! You totally forgot!

I didn't forget!

[He was just avoiding it because it's terrifying!]

[angewiesen]

If I go on the death cart, you have to ride a horse!

I said I'd ride a horse!

I said I'd do it, so come on and get on the damn roller coaster.

[angewiesen]

This week. I'm coming to get you this week, after this thing is over. Shake on it, and I'll get on your roller coaster.

No, Jean, no.

Fine. [He holds his hand out.] This week, I'm going to get on a death monster and it will probably kill me. Now go.

[angewiesen]

[Jean spits in his hand and takes Naoki's for a hearty shake.] There. Now we're even.

[And he will now get on the roller coaster. No more dragging. Fair's fair.]

[noreason]

[He doesn't get the spitting and wipes his hand on his pants as he leads Jean to the death trap roller coaster.

Now he'll have to...actually....ride a horse.......

Jean is going to laugh so hard at him, this is going to be terrible. The roller coaster ride better be worth it.]

[angewiesen]

[Jean doesn't scream, but he does clam up, and holds the security bar with a white knuckled death grip as they ascend. And yelps when they go down. And maybe a little louder when they bank the steep turn.]

[Is it worth it, Naoki? Soon you face the long toothed beast of death.]

[noreason]

[If Naoki had been in it to see Jean be scared, it might have been worth it. Since he mostly just wanted the guy to loosen up, he's not so sure.

When they finally do get off of the coaster, though, he peers over at Jean.]

Well?

[angewiesen]

[Jean is definitely a little bit Shook here.]

What if it goes off the rails? We'd go flying strapped into our deaths!

[noreason]

At least we have a few of those.

[He's kidding.]

That's part of the fun for a lot of people. The thrill of knowing it could be dangerous.

[angewiesen]

That's crazy. At least when I'm using my gear, I know where I'm going.

[noreason]

Your life is in real danger all the time at home. For a lot of people, it's different. They only face danger in ways like this. [He gestures at the roller coaster.]

[angewiesen]

I kinda get it? Kids do stupid stuff for a thrill all the time. This just seems extra stupid.

[noreason]

It's just higher-tech stupid.
