Summary: The Red Queen has thrown a carnival for everyone!
The Story:


From Friday, March 9, through Friday, March 16, the gardens and grounds of the Mansion will be a sprawling a carnival. The masked, unspeaking vendors will be selling trinkets and running free game booths. Carnival rides, exhibits, and foods represent all of the various cultures of those currently residing in the Mansion.


Of particular note, and perhaps incongruously, everything is decorated with red hearts.

[She's a slower eater, having only taken about 3 when he's downed the entire thing. But she doesn't mind.]

Oh, wow, you must be really hungry! Do you want any more? We can get you lots more food! I... don't think they ever run out.

[serifsans]

[More. He understands more. He looks from her to his empty plate, and then to the vendors again. Then he looks at her and gives a sheepish nod. He shouldn't ask for more, shouldn't be greedy like that, but...he's very hungry. He has a hard time eating until someone tells him to.]

Okay! Then let's get lots of different things!

[She'll go to the next vendor, get a treat, go to the next vendor, get a treat... she pretty much doesn't stop until her arms are so full you can barely see her face.

Oooof... um... is this enough?

[serifsans]

[Oh. Oh gosh. She's going to get him more things. Oh, she's going to get him a lot of things. On gosh, she's carrying so much. Is he even going to be able to eat all of this?]

[His eyesockets are bigger than his stomach, though, so he grins and nods happily. He looks around for a moment and then points to a nearby picnic table.]

[They could sit down and then they could share all of this. And he could listen to her talk. That would be nice too.]

[She tries to poke her head around - oh!]

Oh, thank goodness... Th-this was actually getting a little heavy...

[Not that she blames him r anything. BUT. She is going to veeeerrrryyyy carefully scoot to the table, so she won't trip and fall and ruin things like she has most of her life. She'll even take her time to sit down and place everything on the table.]

Phew...

[serifsans]

[That looked like it was really difficult, and he's feeling guilty now. He could have helped carry things. That's something even he can do. He...he should do something to make it up to her. She's been so nice. He doesn't deserve this. He's nothing.]

[He sits down across from her, looking over the spread. Then he picks out whatever looks the tastiest, and pushes it toward her carefully. If he can have whatever he wants, then she should be able to as well, right? This is for everyone, right?]

[There's an instinctive need to hoard all this food, in case someone tries to take it away, but he tries to ignore it. This is...sharing. He remembers that. Sharing is a nice thing to do, so maybe it's a good way to show his gratitude.]

[Mikan blinks at the offering, but then smiles - a big, bright, genuine smile.]

... Thank you very much. Then... let's eat!

[Time to dig in! She'll eat slowly but happily, continuing to smile. What a great day! It's so easy to forget the bear and the sadness and despair. No, this is a happy place with good people.]

[Thank you. He understands thank you. Oh, that's nice. He did something good. He did something right. He grins real big and pushes a few more things toward her, until they're split about even. That's proper sharing.]

[Then he digs in.]
