Summary: The Red Queen has thrown a carnival for everyone!
The Story:


From Friday, March 9, through Friday, March 16, the gardens and grounds of the Mansion will be a sprawling a carnival. The masked, unspeaking vendors will be selling trinkets and running free game booths. Carnival rides, exhibits, and foods represent all of the various cultures of those currently residing in the Mansion.


Of particular note, and perhaps incongruously, everything is decorated with red hearts.

Yes, it certainly has been... different. I've only been here about five months.

[This isn't her usual brand of adventure, at least. But for someone so young, she wouldn't be surprised if this was her first. Not that she doesn't have experience looking young for her age.]

As long as you remember to be careful about it, I think it's wonderful to think of it that way.

[ Don't worry. She'll be singing a different tune next week. Everything seems great when she's not trapped, of course. ]

So, honestly though. What were you going to do out here? Can I watch?

[ It's so weird seeing older people in the wild! They must be studied! ]

[Considering how isolated she's made herself lately. But she stays quiet about that.]

[ Monika smiles and shakes her fists happily. ] Great! Thank you! Where should we go first?

[ Ooh, maybe she can act like she's out with her nonexistent mother. That'll be fun to roleplay! ]

[She's interacted with kids before, but never really teenagers. Most of her experience is in regular children, or people in their 20s, so this is a bit foreign. But she seems excited, so Lucretia's willing to try.]

Well, uhm... admittedly, I haven't seen much of it yet. Have you looked around? If neither of us have a favorite locale, perhaps we can explore until we find something.

Well, I've been to every food vendor. And I've played most of the games, ridden all the rides... [ She laughs as the thought strikes her. ] It's so weird. I've seen almost everything out here, but I still haven't really taken the time to look around the mansion.

[ Pause. ]

I don't get out much myself, really!

[She chuckles a bit, but not condescendingly.]

Well. How about this, then. You show me your favorite place or two here. And I will do the same in the Mansion. Then we can both explore.

[ Monika smiles sheepishly. ] Yeah, I did. But okay!

[ She taps her chin, thinking. ]

Ooh, I know! Let's ride the roller coaster! It was so much fun! I can't let the week end without at least doing that one more time!

[ And there she goes, running off without waiting for an answer. Hopefully this time around will go a lot better than her last. Love is so complicated. ]

[She's pretty used to chasing after people much more exhuberant than her, so Lucretia catches up without much trouble, though she isn't quite the roller coaster type. Still, she did promise this girl, and despite knowing how dangerous the phrase "how bad could it be" is, she's probably committed. So she ducks and weaves, keeping an eye on Monika's hairbow for visibility as they approach.]

[She might die. It's fine. This is hardly the most dangerous situation she's ever been in.]
