Summary: The Red Queen has thrown a carnival for everyone!
The Story:


From Friday, March 9, through Friday, March 16, the gardens and grounds of the Mansion will be a sprawling a carnival. The masked, unspeaking vendors will be selling trinkets and running free game booths. Carnival rides, exhibits, and foods represent all of the various cultures of those currently residing in the Mansion.


Of particular note, and perhaps incongruously, everything is decorated with red hearts.

[ She sinks into a pensive silence. It's tempting to say no, but she knows curiosity would eventually burn her up inside if she didn't take the offer. ]

Um, sure! All right.

[ Her lips press together as she waits. She's not quite sure what to expect. Will he grow horns or something? ]

[He grins widely.]

Excellent.

[Then he leans in a bit, eyes locked onto hers, his voice smoother than ever as he coaxingly asks her a very important question.]

Tell me, Monika. What is it you truly desire?

[ Monika looks confused for a moment. What a weird question. Clearly she wants the food in front of her right now!

But then she starts to feel a tug in her brain, weak at first, but then it gets stronger and stronger until she can't resist it. She blinks in surprise, but the words coming out make her smile. ]

To be free. To be loved.

[ She snickers. ] It'd be fun to see Sayori imitate a pendulum again, too.

[Well, if someone were able to do this exact thing to him, he'd say the same thing. Good thing no one can.

Still, it hits him pretty hard, and he's left blinking a few times.

He's so distracted by his own strange emotions welling up in his chest that he doesn't even put two-and-two together on that last bit, but that's typical for him, really.]

Well, Wonderland is the best place to find freedom, seeing as we're all technically trapped in this bloody place, but the latter is a bit easier around here, I've found.

[ Monika shakes her head out of its daze. Whoa!

...Aaand then she realizes what she said. Not only did she spill her deepest desires, she admitted to watching someone die. Someone that she only VERY VAGUELY helped get past her issues in a VERY SLIGHTLY permanent way.

SHIT.

Gotta play it cool! He might set her on fire! ]

Um. Yeah!

[ She shoves a large, random piece of food into her mouth, mostly because she's not sure if "the latter" referred to finding love or watching Sayori swing. So hey look at that, she's starving so much! ]

So, yes, that's my fancy ability. Each of my siblings has their own, for example my brother Amenadiel can stop time. [A beat.] Or, at least, he could before he Fell.

[He waves that off.]

My Father decided to give me my wings back while I was home as well, though I haven't decided yet if I'm going to cut them off or not.

[There could not be more disdain in the word father if he tried.]

[ Whoa. She swallows what remained of the food in her mouth, awestruck. No wonder he asked her about that when they first spoke. ]

Does that mean you can fly?

[ Forget about potential semi-murder confessions and daddy issues, this is way cooler! ]

[He would look offended if it were possible to offend him with something like this. It's more for show than anything else.]

Of course, I can fly.

[ His first comment almost gets lost on her until she hears the second one. Then her eyes light up even more than they already had. ]

Can we go flying?! It could be like the Neverending Story!
