Summary: The Red Queen has thrown a carnival for everyone!
The Story:


From Friday, March 9, through Friday, March 16, the gardens and grounds of the Mansion will be a sprawling a carnival. The masked, unspeaking vendors will be selling trinkets and running free game booths. Carnival rides, exhibits, and foods represent all of the various cultures of those currently residing in the Mansion.


Of particular note, and perhaps incongruously, everything is decorated with red hearts.

[Admittedly Stan hasn't put a ton of thought into the whole Mirror thing - "avoid them" seemed like good enough advice, even with the nice ones.]

What, so if she doesn't like someone she just chucks 'em out and replaces them? That's pretty screwed up, even for this place.

I-I suppose, maybe. Well, a Mirror is only as good as how useful they are! So...if a subject isn't useful to their ruler, then...

[He laughs nervously, looking around again.]

Oh, well...the Queen is our Creator. We wouldn't exist if not for her, so...! I-It's not so bad. You just toe the line and keep your head d-down and you'll be just fine!

[If he was talking to someone else, this would be the point where they point out that this isn't the case for Reals, and most "creators" are not so cruel. This, however, is not the life Stan has lived. He knows that sometimes you have to keep your head down to keep the peace with your "creator".]

Yeah, well. Good luck with that. It's not like you got a whole lot of options over there.

[He's aware of how fucked up it is on the outside, but it's just...how things are, right? It's how things are for Mirrors. Mirrors don't get things that Reals get, like Real families and Real friends and all that. It's fine. It's how this world works.]
