Food and Fun - OPEN Gathering!
Who: Everyone!
Where: Outside on the grounds, near the gardens
When: Saturday, August 11th
Rating: G! If you take it to an extreme sexy or extreme sad place, please warn in the subject line!
Summary: Liv and Papyrus host Wonderland's Inagural Inter-planetary Fod Festival!
The Story:

The stage has been set for everyone to have food from all over time and space, and Liv is possibly a little more excited about this than she should be. Her message with Papyrus didn't seem to drum up a ton of interest when they made their announcement, but she's hoping like hell this actually goes somewhere.
There's a table with Sharpie pens and little cards to write the name of the dish, main ingredients, and where it came from (plus the bringer's dish if they want) and three huge coolers filled with ice and various drinks like bottled water, juice boxes, soda, and beer for the adults (that one's labeled on top). Cutlury, napkins, and cups are taken care of! There's also music playing, the equivalent to what might as well be a random Pandora station not set on one specific genre of music. It easily goes from an Adele song to the Spice Girls and back around to something by Adam Lavine.
All that's really left, is for Liv to sit back and enjoy the day.
[ OOC: This is, obviously, a gathering post! Please top level, tag around, and have fun! ]

Misty Day - Open
So she spent some time in the kitchen, making what she found to be the best comfort food growing up. She takes her time, using as many fresh ingredients as she can find, humming the spell under her breath as she works.
Dressed in new clothes she pulled from the closet, Misty makes her way to the gathering in a long, soft floral print skirt, a slim tank and barefeet. Her shawl is in shades of rich amber and gold, the bright shades of the sun mingling with rich brick red. Summer shades to compliment the heat of the dish.
Filling out a little card, she sets it before the earthenware bowl, giving a nod at the note before heading off to find a plate and food herself.
Salt for purification. Garlic to clean the blood. Bay for prosperity. Paprika for energy. Onion to banish negativity. Thyme and Oregano for wellbeing and peace. Sage to purify and Pepper to protect.
- Misty

She's not a loud person, but right now, anything she could say evaporates as she realizes, shit. This is home. Looking around for the person who made it, for a Misty who she's never heard of. Must be someone new, so Michonne stays close, hoping the person returns even as she keeps eating.

Moving to the table, she straightens a few things, and then passes her hand over the earthenware bowl of jambalaya, muttering the spell once more. She glances up at someone nearby, smiling as she slowly draws her hand back, realizing how public she is as she does that.
no subject
"What uh. What kind of magic was that?" she asks curiously, taking another bite just to prove she's not about to lose her mind over it.
no subject
"Just witchcraft," she says in a low voice, trying not to look as tense as she feels when talking about it still. "Just a protection and health spell. Seems it's something we might need here."
no subject
Still. She puts down her spoon in order to properly introduce herself, smiling at Misty. "Can't hurt, though. I'm Michonne."

Mikan nervously begins to approach - she's been having a rough time of things, with the boy she fell in love with going home to die, so anything that can make her feel better she's absolutely going to try. If she's allowed. Nervous nelly and all that.
"... Excuse me...?"
no subject
"Why hello there. You doing okay? Did you get yourself some jambalaya? It's my momma's recipe, and I admit I did a pretty good job on it too," she says, sounding proud of herself.
no subject
"I-I was just about to ask, um, if I could please have some?" Even though the gathering was about sharing, so she didn't need to ask, some habits were just difficult to break.
no subject
Scooping some into the bowl, she got a spoon and stuck it in before offering it out to her. "You don't have any allergies, do you?"
no subject
Wow, that came out in one breath, new record. "... Um, th-thank you." She gently took the bowl.

He's really like to know more about this.
He glances around until he finds the woman who he thinks is the one who brought in this food, the one in the bright floral skirt. Or, at the very least, she is one of the people closest to the dish. "Uhm, excuse me."
no subject
Glancing up though, she offers a bit of a smile and a nod. "Afternoon there. What can I help you with?"
no subject
no subject
"It's not something I always do but I figured it's something we could use here. Protection and positivity can help everyone with what I've been warned about."
no subject
He still generally avoids mingling with the people who've shown up- but Misty is a face he recognises, and so he ambles over, raising his hand in an idle greeting.
"Hey, witchy lady. They convince you to try this thing out, huh?"
no subject
"Hey yourself. It was more trying to size things up, and get a meal that maybe didn't just magical appear in front of me," she admits, amused though and in much better place than she was when she arrived. "I admit, didn't expect t'see you takin' part in this."
no subject
He'd rather eat something he knew had at least an attempt of real-ness to it. Even if it was something as simple as a questionable New York hot dog. It might give him food poisoning, but at least it wouldn't inadvertently put him under a curse.
"I'm just here for the free food and booze," he chuckles. "This kinda mingling bullshit ain't my style at all."
no subject
Which for Misty is a huge thing. She's not bothered by the magic of others, so long as she knows whose magic it is. There's too much here that is just them being blindsided by magic.
"I admit, I'm still uncertain about all of it, and most everyone, but at least this is outside. I don't know, I just feel more secure out here."
Not that she's entirely avoided the house, but her time is definitely balanced.
"Surprised no one here has started a still so they know what's in the alcohol too," she admits.
no subject
Because he is already pretty damn done with Wonderland bullshit. Far better to it be magic someone knows how to control- instead of the magic of a place that's basically insanity personified.
"Well, if this sorta place suits you. The mansion can get pretty fuckin' crowded sometimes. There's a lotta room, but when you're used to having a lot of your own space, it sure feels cramped as fuck."
He chuckles at that.
"I'm surprised my buddy Shawn hasn't. He runs the boat-bar out there," he points to the boat bobbing just out to sea. "That sorta thing would be right up his alley. Though it's probably too much effort."

"Now there's an auspicious dish," Molly grins as he reads the card, eyes trailing up to Misty as soon as she comes back around. "I dunno whether I should eat it or ask it for my fortune."
no subject
"Been a while since I've read, but for you? Of course. Have to use cards though, I don't have my bones anymore. Though I wonder what the closet would give me if I asked."
Though speaking of reading bones might not be helpful.
"Though do eat. I stole that from my family's recipe and added my own magic."
no subject
So of course he's already taken a couple of bites and loved every second of it, judging by the look on his face, before he adds, "Never had anything cooked with magic, but I feel like more people should start. This is amazing."
no subject
Most of the time she hasn't been concerned what others thought of her food, and she finds herself holding her breath. She smiles though before he even speaks. "Why thank you. I appreciate it. My momma's recipe, and my own swamp magic. Like others have said, it might not do much against Wonderland's magic, but it can't hurt for a bit of piece of mind."
no subject
"That's ridiculous. You can't swing a stick without hitting a magic-user in Wildemount. Where the hell would they hide?" It's hard to imagine a place with magic where the wizards and such weren't a little bit thick on the ground. "You can barely do anything decent without a little bit of magic."
