+ Am I asleep or awake? +

Who: Everyone!
Where: In their dreams
When: 3/20/14 - 3/27/14
Rating: PG-13?
Summary: A catch-all log for what dreams are available for people to walk through at night.
The Story:

♥ As of Wednesday, the 19th, all beds in the Mansion (no matter their style or cultural/temporal origin) have been replaced with swinging beds.

♥ But starting Thursday, the 20th, sleeping in the new beds induces vivid dreams, and characters sleeping at the same time will be able to walk into each others' dreams. If a character is a spoilsport and doesn't sleep in the swinging beds, he or she doesn't get to dream walk.

♥ Characters will be able to dreamwalk until Thursday, the 27th.

♥ Leave a description of your characters' dream (or dreams) in top levels on this post so others can comment and walk into their dream, if they choose to go exploring other people's dreams!

♥ Questions? Please ask them over here at the FAQ post for the event! And have fun!

Souji can respect that.

"I was dreaming about fog."
thepointisdolphins: (snake show me the wine list)

[personal profile] thepointisdolphins 2014-03-28 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
Crowley tilts his head. "Fog?"
eatsyourscience: (everyday is pretty much the same)

[personal profile] eatsyourscience 2014-03-29 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
"Not normal fog. It came out of another world." Souji crosses his arms and looks at the ground for a moment. "Were you around for any of the events with fog? Some of those were mine."
thepointisdolphins: (snake hiss hiss hiss)

[personal profile] thepointisdolphins 2014-03-29 12:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Crowley taps his chin with his tail. "Fog, eh? I remember you claiming the Shadows event and the one with the telly, but fog wouldn't have been the first thing I noticed."

He was too busy dealing with general trauma.
eatsyourscience: (too late for second-guessing)

[personal profile] eatsyourscience 2014-03-30 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
Souji nods. That was most peoples' experience with those.

"In my world, the fog would have turned everyone into shadows. Not the doubles, but the monsters."
thepointisdolphins: (snake so wee)

[personal profile] thepointisdolphins 2014-03-30 07:15 am (UTC)(link)
He hisses quietly. "I think I remember you mentioning that. Monsters and such. I just didn't know inclement weather was involved."

Then again it's not really surprising, considering Souji's world also involves some kind of television dimension and a whole lot of other weird stuff.

"So...the monsters come from people." Unpleasant, to say the least.
eatsyourscience: (anything less than the best is a felony)

"They come from human emotions." Mostly the bad ones.
thepointisdolphins: (snake show me the wine list)

[personal profile] thepointisdolphins 2014-03-31 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
He's quiet for a bit, pondering that. "I see. Makes sense, in a way."
eatsyourscience: (stop calling stop calling)

[personal profile] eatsyourscience 2014-04-01 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, I guess so. I don't know why it happens that way, though."
thepointisdolphins: (snake OMGLOL)

[personal profile] thepointisdolphins 2014-04-01 06:31 am (UTC)(link)
"Very little about the world makes sense when you think about it." He tries to sound sage, but mostly he just sounds befuddled.
eatsyourscience: (play the cards with spades to start)

The corner of Souji's mouth quirks up.

"It must make sense to someone."
thepointisdolphins: (snake show me the wine list)

[personal profile] thepointisdolphins 2014-04-02 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
"Of course it makes sense to Someone. But He doesn't usually tell people much of anything."

It's not just God, either. The people who know the most tend to share the least.
eatsyourscience: (no you can't read my poker face)

[personal profile] eatsyourscience 2014-04-02 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
"Do you think God exists in all worlds?" Souji's been wondering about this, with the abundance of heavenly-type beings around Wonderland these days.
thepointisdolphins: (snake so wee)

[personal profile] thepointisdolphins 2014-04-02 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
He's quiet for awhile, swishing his tail back and forth over the side of the branch he's on.

"I really...can't speak to that. Hurts my head just to think of it. I'm used to there being one world with one God and where generally all those Bible and Torah stories are, you know. Literal."
eatsyourscience: (mama didn't raise no fool)

[personal profile] eatsyourscience 2014-04-03 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
"How could they possibly be literal? Like Noah? Were there fewer species of animal then? Or some kind of space-time anomaly...?"
thepointisdolphins: (snake hiss hiss hiss)

[personal profile] thepointisdolphins 2014-04-04 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
"Some of them are literal, some of them are metaphorical, most of them are both. There was a Noah and an Ark--I know, I was there, even met the bastard--but did he truly have every animal on that boat? Who really knows? That's not really the point, after all."
eatsyourscience: (damn right it's better than yours)

[personal profile] eatsyourscience 2014-04-04 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
"I guess that's true." Souji rolls his shoulders in a motion that's half shrug, half working out some kink in his back. "I thought it would be a good explanation for why we don't have unicorns or dragons."
thepointisdolphins: (snake show me the wine list)

[personal profile] thepointisdolphins 2014-04-05 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
"That too, of course." He swishes his tail. "Unicorns--I don't know about dragons, honestly--and a fair few other species. It was all a bit of a mess, really. Entirely unnecessary, but that's just my opinion."
eatsyourscience: (been living for tomorrows all my life)

[personal profile] eatsyourscience 2014-04-05 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
"I agree."

Souji just doesn't understand a God who gives people free will and then gets mad when they do what they want--he loves them but also kills them? Souji doesn't get it. Where he comes from, gods usually only get mad at humans because the humans did something to insult them directly. That makes more sense to him.

"I read somewhere that the story might have been meant to explain regional floods, and didn't literally mean a world-wide flood."
thepointisdolphins: (snake so wee)

[personal profile] thepointisdolphins 2014-04-06 03:55 am (UTC)(link)
Crowley would partially agree if thinking about it didn't make him so uncomfortable. He was asking this very question of Aziraphale all the way back in the Beginning. And if you take the idea that it's all really part of some ineffable Plan, and everything that happens is part of that Plan, then you have to wonder if all the Evil you'd done was ever really Evil.

Not really a fun thing to think about when you're a demon.

"Oh, it is. The Euphrates and Tigris used to flood all the time, and not predictably like the Nile. But the thing I've noticed is that all the stories and all those things that happened were both reality and parable. Everything from back then is sort of meant to be that way, I think. I can tell you there was a flood and an Ark and a right bastard named Noah, but did he really have every animal in there? Did the flood really cover the entire world? It certainly seemed to at the time."

He rolls his coils in the snake equivalent of a shrug.

"It's best to let the humans choose what they want to believe."

"I guess so." It's got Souji wondering, though, about the Japanese islands and where they came from and whether or not there's a place called Yomi somewhere under them.

"Are you going to stay here? In the garden?"
thepointisdolphins: (snake ohai guyth)

[personal profile] thepointisdolphins 2014-04-07 08:32 pm (UTC)(link)
He bobs his head. "For now, I think so. I rather like this dream; don't really have it all that often."

He considers Souji for a moment, as well as the sudden flurry of gigantic blue butterflies that pour into the clearing.

"You're welcome to stay, if you want."
eatsyourscience: (let your life be a dream)

[personal profile] eatsyourscience 2014-04-08 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
That gets a small smile from Souji, though the butterflies have most of his attention. They make him feel rather nostalgic.

Once they've settled a bit, though, he looked back at Crowley.

"It's okay if I look around?" He didn't want to intrude.
thepointisdolphins: (snake OMGLOL)

[personal profile] thepointisdolphins 2014-04-08 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
He smiles a little, which looks weird on a snake. "Go ahead. Knock yourself out."

"Thanks."

Souji gives a small wave and goes to check this place out. Even if it's not exactly like the original Garden, it's still more amazing than just about anything else Souji has ever seen.
