+ Am I asleep or awake? +

Who: Everyone!
Where: In their dreams
When: 3/20/14 - 3/27/14
Rating: PG-13?
Summary: A catch-all log for what dreams are available for people to walk through at night.
The Story:

♥ As of Wednesday, the 19th, all beds in the Mansion (no matter their style or cultural/temporal origin) have been replaced with swinging beds.

♥ But starting Thursday, the 20th, sleeping in the new beds induces vivid dreams, and characters sleeping at the same time will be able to walk into each others' dreams. If a character is a spoilsport and doesn't sleep in the swinging beds, he or she doesn't get to dream walk.

♥ Characters will be able to dreamwalk until Thursday, the 27th.

♥ Leave a description of your characters' dream (or dreams) in top levels on this post so others can comment and walk into their dream, if they choose to go exploring other people's dreams!

♥ Questions? Please ask them over here at the FAQ post for the event! And have fun!

"Uhh..." Jesse's brows draw together as he tries to recall if that's something he's heard of during one of his boys' long, long, long and deeply philosophical monologues about nothing. Honestly it sounds like something Badger and Skinny would be all over... But all Jesse's coming up with is Trek.

...Losers. No fondness there at all......

"Maybe. I don't know--" And he has to snort at 'telly'. Sorry, bro. "The Doctor? You mean, um... Dr. Whale? I think he knows he's from a movie already."

CONFUSION.

"No, no, he's just 'The Doctor.' His name. It's a show about him and whoever the companion of the season is having adventures in time and space. He travels the universe in a big blue box called the TARDIS."

He smiles faintly. "Me and Aziraphale ate it up back when it was airing. Good bit of telly, really. Entertaining."

"O...kay. Weird, but I mean... Whatever." Not nearly as weird as 'tardis', whatever the hell that means. "Sounds kinda familiar, I guess. I'm more of a Discovery Channel kinda dude, you know, they got those shows about the sloths and whatnot..."

Sloths are fucking awesome. Everyone would do well to aim for living the sloth life. It's worked for Jesse.

Sort of.

"Is it a British thing?"
thepointisdolphins: (the point is dolphins)

"Sloths, really?" He's more of a reptiles guy. Or gorillas.

"British to the bone. Sort of like the British answer to Star Trek. Actually, they might have started airing at the same time."

Hell yeah sloths! Sloths are the shit. Because they're lazy and sleep in swinging baskets and cling to shit with their stupid long arms. Come on, what's not to love...?

"Ohhhh, right, right... Pretty sure my boys back home just got, like, super offended for no reason. They're all about that Trek crap, dude-- I've seen like two episodes, something about some fuzzy things and like a machine that makes food..." He shakes his head. "I don't know, science fiction doesn't really do it for me... Or, you know, "fiction" since apparently this dude's here and all..."

SO WEIRD. He wonders what it'd be like to find out you're from a TV show instead of, like, the real world.

Good thing he'll never have to worry about that happening.

"Well, there's nothing wrong with Star Trek. Doctor Who is just much more entertaining." He smirks. "But really, I've tried not to think too hard about the fact that so many fictional characters seem to be running around this place. I can only handle existential crisis at a time."

Every time he starts to wonder who else here might be fictional somewhere else--or if he himself is, maybe, fictional--his mind zips off in the other direction from pure self-preservation and he ends up thinking about cooking or horticulture.

"It's not hard to be more entertaining than Star Trek. QVC is more entertaining than Star Trek."

Yeah, that's right. He said it. He's not into Trek, sorry boys.

And to the other part of that, Jesse snorts.

"That's the way to go, yo, uh-- Suspension of disbelief, or whatever." He's pretty sure that's what that means? Whatever, it gets the point across, and that point is:

"Just roll with it." He shakes his head.

"So... You got any idea how we get out of here, or do we just gotta roll with that too?" Not that he's in a hurry or anything, but... You know. It seems like the kind of thing he should probably be aware of.

"More like denial. Extreme denial." He nods sagely. You need extreme denial just to get by in this world. It's not even a matter of avoiding existential crises, it's a matter of just staying sane and alive.

"No...I think we just need to wait until we wake up. Usually they tell you that being aware that you're dreaming makes you take control of the dream, or even wake up--but that doesn't seem to really be happening. Then again, demon dreams are probably quite different."

He shrugs and abruptly has a brand new appletini in his hand.

"Yeah, there's always that."

Jesse eyes the gloriously refilled drink.

"...Yo-- how'd you do that? If we're gonna be stuck in here for... However the hell long, might as well try to learn a few tricks." It's the closest he'll ever come to doing actual magic crap, and that's worth a shot, right?

Crowley gives Jesse a thoughtful look. "Well--normally humans can't learn how to miracle things into existence. But this is a dream..."

He grins. He can teach him, sure, or at least try to. He owes the kid that much for listening to Crowley wax poetic about the good old days.
