Summary: A catch-all log for what dreams are available for people to walk through at night.
The Story:

♥ As of Wednesday, the 19th, all beds in the Mansion (no matter their style or cultural/temporal origin) have been replaced with swinging beds.

♥ But starting Thursday, the 20th, sleeping in the new beds induces vivid dreams, and characters sleeping at the same time will be able to walk into each others' dreams. If a character is a spoilsport and doesn't sleep in the swinging beds, he or she doesn't get to dream walk.

♥ Characters will be able to dreamwalk until Thursday, the 27th.

♥ Leave a description of your characters' dream (or dreams) in top levels on this post so others can comment and walk into their dream, if they choose to go exploring other people's dreams!

Souji nodded, taking the lead for the moment. The butterfly slipped through another heavy door, but behind this one was a thick tangle of flowering vines rising up from the ground and into the air. Souji looked up, his eyes following the path of the butterfly, and could make out an opening above them through the rainbows.

He looked back at Minato. "Should we climb it?" It looked sturdy enough, but it was very high and they were both rather small.

Minato looked up and up and up. It really was very high. He furrowed his eyebrows a bit, thinking.

"Ne, but... I don't want you to fall."

He did want to follow that butterfly though.

"But if you want to, I'll go with you! I can catch you."

Souji nodded and released Minato's hand. He would go first.

"I'll tell you what I see when I get there."

He began to climb up the vines, carefully finding hand- and footholds.

About twenty feet up, he glanced down and paused. It was pretty far up and he was only about two-thirds there. Taking a deep breath, he made himself keep going. He would be okay. He thought he had done this before, or at least he was sure that he could do it now. It was just a little scary.

Minato bit his lip and watched as Souji was climbing. It was really high up.

He didn't want to say anything to distract Souji, but he also wanted to encourage him and tell him it was okay.

Minato compromised and whispered instead. "Ne, you can do it. I'm here."

Souji finally made it up to the opening and pulled himself onto the upper floor.

He disappeared for a moment before returning, kneeling at the edge of the hole and peering down. "There's another treasure chest up here! But it's not locked."

He wouldn't open it unless Minato told him to, though. He didn't want to steal the opportunity from Minato, if he wanted to join him.

"Ne, is it holding the key?"

Minato was so tempted to start climbing up. But at this age, he was way too cautious about everything. Other kids could run and play, but Minato usually kept to himself and kept himself on the safer side.

"You can open it! But... but how are you going to get down?"

"I'll carry it in my mouth!"

That wasn't dangerous at all.

Souji disappeared again for a moment, and when he returned, he was smiling, holding a glittering gold keep in one hand.

"We can open the treasure chest now!"

Minato nodded, and he gave Souji a small smile.

"I-i can catch it! I'll catch you too!"

Not that he wanted Souji to fall, but Minato could hold onto the key while Souji made his way down again. He just worried, that's all.

Souji nodded and held the key out. "Ready?"

When Minato signaled him, Souji dropped the key and held his breath until it was safely in Minato's hands. Then he started to climb down the vines backward, though it was more like sliding than climbing.

Minato held onto the key in both hands, cupped and safe there. He bit his lip and watched Souji make his way down the wall.

Once Souji was back on terra firma, he joined him and indicated they should go back the way they came to get to that other treasure chest.

"Did you see the butterfly? Is it going to come back?"

"I don't know." Souji looked upward; the butterfly hadn't followed him back down. "Maybe it's busy."

Busy? That was true since butterflies had their own things to do too. He walked with Souji back toward where the first treasure chest was.

"Were you scared going up and down?" That was indeed a long way both ways.

Souji considered as they got the door open again to get into the room where the golden chest was.

"...Yeah. A little bit." He couldn't lie about it. "About halfway up, it was really high."

Minato thought he'd be scared himself if he were the one who went up alone too. He went over to the golden chest that was really shiny.

"Mn, but you're here now!" Minato was happy about that. "What could be inside here that makes the key so hard to get?"

Souji followed Minato to the chest and stroked its lid a couple times.

"Let's see."

"Ne, you can open it, you got the key for us."

Minato handed the key over to Souji, and then stayed by his side, almost like peering around him though to see what could be inside the chest.

Souji nodded and accepted the key. It fit in the lock perfectly and slid against the tumblers without any resistance. There was a click and then Souji pushed the lid up, peering into the trunk as a thin wedge of light expanded to reveal what was inside.

It was a mirror, round and smooth, reflecting both of their faces back at them.

Souji blinked at it and carefully pulled it out of the chest, holding it to the side so that Minato could inspect it, too.

As their reflections stared back at them, he spoke the words that came to his mind: "I am thou."

He wasn't sure what it meant, but it sounded right.

"Thou art I, and I am thou." Minato nodded, tilting his head a bit in thought and with something like confirmation, confirming what Souji said was true or right.

Minato looked at the mirror again for a second or two before he spoke again.

"You and me... We're the same, right? No one else is like us?"

He scooted a little closer to Souji to be that close to him.

Souji nodded, leaning in toward Minato as he moved closer. "Just us. You and me."

That put a smile on Minato's face. He liked that it was just the two of them.

"Yay."

Instead of helping Souji hold onto the mirror, he latched himself onto Souji's arm.

"Then... we'll never ever be alone."

"Right." Souji held the mirror to his chest with one arm so that Minato could hold onto him without anything getting in the way. "I'm happy."

"Oh! Me too." Minato leaned a little more into Souji. "It's really easy to be happy with you."

Souji smiled and turned to kiss Minato's cheek.

Minato's cheeks turned slightly pink. He finally glanced over at Souji before giving him a quick peck on the cheek in return.

"Thank you for not making me lonely too."

Souji smiled and leaned against Minato. He was happy to stay right here for a little while. It was warm and bright here, and it smelled of flowers and grass.
