The Story:

Darcy:

Darcy is getting more and more confused as the weekend progesses, doing her best to avoid people with wings. Whether or not they do the same remains to be seen. She can be found wandering around the mansion, most of the time with earbuds in or her nose buried in a book trying to pretend that a ton of people didn't just sprout wings.

Erica:

Erica is beyond annoyed. Being an angel carried its own responsibilities, but that meant she had to care about other people and their issues. She has taken to perching on ledges and finding the roof increasingly more appealing than she had before. She doesn't have to deal with people if they aren't around to bug her about stupid things like miracles and guidance.

Vikings don't really have all that much in the way of art — not that Toothless sees, at least, except for the sketches in Hiccup's notebook. Moving sketches, then. Very strange, he decides, watching the screen and listening for a long moment. He isn't sure what's going on, but he does like it.

It's one of the more pleasant surprises in Wonderland, honestly. He turns his head to trill at Darcy, ears perked forward.

Do vikings watch this kind of thing very often, he wonders, where she comes from?

[She can't help but laugh at the little trill, taking a wild guess to mean that he likes it. She relaxes slightly, curling her feet underneath herself.]

Ya know, TVs used to be not as cool as this... They used to be super bulky and only got like three channels. But now, at least at home, you can watch pretty much anything and everything you could ever want. People spend hours and hours just staring at it. It can be pretty consuming sometimes.

[Like reality shows or really bad sitcoms, they were like horrible car accidents that you just can't look away from... For seven hours.]

He turns his head to look at the TV, for a long moment. Hours and hours, vikings were staring at these things? It doesn't seem that interesting, to Toothless. It's interesting, but aren't there much more interesting things to do? Even wherever this viking comes from?

Perhaps they don't even have dragons where she comes from. Toothless has been hearing about that more and more. He makes a disbelieving, snuffly noise, looking back to Darcy.

Why stare at a light box for so long?

"You know, sometimes they have some pretty educational things on TV. History and interviews, documentaries about pretty much everything... But mostly, it's totally entertainment based. No value whatsoever."

She smiles, hoping that he's actually understanding her and she's not just basically talking to herself.

"When I lived in New Mexico with Jane, we didn't spend a lot of time watching tv. When she wasn't doing science-y things, we were looking at the sky - at the stars."

Toothless, in return, makes a low, mellow sound. Looking at the stars is something the Nightfury does a lot of. Often from the sky, with Hiccup on his back. But also sometimes on the ground, stretched out and relaxing after a long day. Vikings have many stories about the stars.

Even if the Nightfury's never paid much attention to the details of them, he knows that vikings are very fond of the lights in the sky. For some reason.

She can't help but give a small sound of her own, guessing he's pretty familiar with them... Considering the whole 'dragon' thing. The thought earns a small smirk, quickly losing interest in the TV. It seemed like the dragon understood her, part of her wanting to ask for a name, although the idea of pulling a 'little mermaid' guessing game could be tricky.

"So, do you have friends here? People from your home?"

He nods, in a way that looks pleased.

Toothless is happy to have Hiccup along for this particular venture. He's always happy to have the viking close by — hence the harness, and not the special fin Hiccup had made that allowed him to fly by himself. But this place is confusing, indeed, and the Nightfury likes having something familiar around.

It helps the dragon not to feel overwhelmed, as he had when he'd first arrived and hadn't seen Hiccup yet.

Good, so the dragon wasn't alone then. That's helpful... Although if someone had told her a year ago that she'd be getting emotionally invested in a dragon's well-being, she'd have called them crazy.

"Well, if for some reason things go wonky or you know, get Wonderland-y..." That's a word, right? "I'm on the 7th floor - room 27." Unless he can't read numbers which could make it tricky. "Or you know, just holler and I'll try and help you out."

Toothless trills, high in the back of his throat, which seems to be an understanding of this idea. What cements it is that he leans forward and nudges her side with his head, gently. While Toothless' best friend will always be Hiccup, and no one could take his place, he's enjoyed getting to know a whole bunch of other vikings here.

And he's pleased that Darcy is in their number.

She's shown him some neat things, today.
