Where: The gardens & ballroom.

Summary: Unwilling to wait until they get back home, Lily and James are tying the knot and have taken it upon themselves to invite everyone in Wonderland, no holds barred.
The Story:
[It's no secret that Lily and James were intending to make their way down the aisle at some point, considering their famous future offspring. Despite Harry's recent disappearance, they've both opted to keep their wedding plans in place, refusing to postpone and choosing instead to make the most of the time they have and celebrate with the friends and family who are present here in Wonderland-- along with everyone else.
Just in case you missed it, James made the announcement along with an open invitation, and even if you've never met the bride or groom, they'd love to have you present. Come as you are and stay as long as you can! There's no dress code and no gifts required, only the pleasure of your company!]

But then, it's suddenly all anyone can talk about. And then the day of the wedding comes and the mansion is far too quiet and Wirt realizes the horrible truth - it's much weirder for him to not be in attendance.
He did catch the end of the ceremony and the sparklers, which...kind of looked like fun, actually. Wirt isn't sure how he feels about getting married in a place like Wonderland but...well, the couple seemed happy enough.
Now he's at the reception and both looking and feeling a little out of place. For once, he isn't in his trademark cape and pointy hat - he's swapped them out for a plain black suit and tie for the occasion. He recognizes a lot of the music, since it's all from his parents' generation, but he's mostly keeping to the edges of the party and watching the crowd. He's not having a bad time, but without Greg and Beatrice he still feels a little like he doesn't have a good enough excuse to be there. Though, maybe if he just stays out of the way no one will notice him. Now and then he can be found near the food, but he's mostly a wallflower otherwise.]

...you look like a person.
no subject
...That's because I am a person.
[You know, like he's been saying all along.]

Well...i-it was going to be weird if I didn't come here in something nicer? I mean, it's a wedding. I didn't want to be rude.

Why does it have to be weird when I dress up? You dressed up too, and you usually wear the same thing all the time!
no subject
[And he's a busy guy! Why would he switch up his outfit when he knows what works for him?]
no subject
[No, the grandpa clothes and mismatched shoes weren't part of the costume. That's just what he normally wears (along with an absent-minded mistake in footwear).]

So she doesn't even recognize him when she's back at the food table, piling more stuff back onto a plate. She's completely engrossed in the food, even skipping the plate every once in a while and shoving the food straight into her mouth, until she bumps into him and nearly drops what she's carrying.]
Whoa! Look where you're-- wait, Wirt? Haha, you actually came? That's awesome!
[She shoves a little tart into her mouth and talks while she chews.]
You hit the dance floor yet?
no subject
S-Sorry! Sorry, I-- oh. Amethyst. Hi. Yeah, I...yeah. I'm here.
[It's a bit awkward admitting it though. Clearly it's weird that he's here. Wirt rubs at his elbow nervously, and glances over at the aforementioned dance floor.]
Uhh. No, I'm...I'm not really-- I'm not much of a dancer.
no subject
[She puts down her plate and instantly forgets it at the table. Then she grabs his hand and starts pulling at him towards the dance floor.]
It'll be fun! Your weird hat's off and you're ready to get down, hahaha!
no subject
[Wirt tugs back, trying to offer some kind of resistance before they get dragged onto the dance floor. Unfortunately, Amethyst is obviously much stronger than him, so it's not much use.]
I-I-- I'm not ready to get down at all! I can't dance! Not in front of all these...I'm. I'm fine just standing around! Standing around is good, really.
no subject
Besides, wouldn't it be way more embarrassing if you were just standing around in the middle of the dance floor? [She is evil. She is truly evil.] Dance with me, Wirt!
no subject
[He wasn't expecting to be twirled, and he staggers a bit afterward. His eyes go from Amethyst to all of the people around them having a good time, all of these people who totally know how to dance and are probably going to judge the heck out of him. He can't just not think about that!
It's not even a slow song - not that he wants to slow-dance with Amethyst, but at least slow-dancing is straightforward and not just...moving around however you want and hoping it's not wrong.
He blushes hard, and to his credit he at least kind of tries. He pulls his arms up close to him and sways his shoulders a little but it lasts less than two seconds before he's hiding his face in his hands.] I-I. I can't do this.
no subject
[She (gently, considering how she usually pushes him around) pulls his hands away from his face and then starts to demonstrate an easy dance for him. She sways from side to side to the beat, then raises her arms and starts to shake it.]
no subject
Um...o-okay. Like...l-like this?
[And he starts trying to do the same dance too. He still seems kind of nervous, but it's easy to go with the beat and it's a dance that would be really hard for him to actually screw up. So he's...alright. He feels a little dumb, but it's the same thing she's doing so it....is probably okay?? Maybe?]

He's spotted.
In fact, one might say Mabel zeroes in on him as he's one of the few boys here even remotely close to her age, and he's cute. There's no real warning when Mabel shows up. One minute Wirt's just standing near the punch or something, and the next there is a girl in a pink and blue tulle-and-fake-gem monstrosity sitting on the edge of the table, grinning at him.]
The party is over there, but if you're at a loss, you could always ask me to dance. [she waggles her eyebrows, giggling a little.]
no subject
So, naturally he jumps when he realizes that not only is someone talking to him, but that she apparently climbed right up on the table next to him when he wasn't paying attention.]
I...um. Have we...d-do I know you?
[He can't even begin to fathom why someone he doesn't know would be trying to get him to dance with them, so clearly she's just. Joking or something. He squints a little though, and then something dawns on him.]
...Wait. I do know you. Aren't you Dipper's sister?
no subject
no subject
A-Ah! Uh. Uhhh. [He tries to back up a tiny bit, and looks apologetic.] I. I know you're Dipper's twin, a-and that you left Wonderland? W-We only talked once so I-I don't-- Dipper's probably a better person to ask. I...I don't think I can really help you remember anything?
no subject
no subject
[He tries to laugh it off, but it's kind of awkward-sounding so that doesn't last long.] Um. I'm...I'm Wirt. Since you don't remember, I mean.
no subject
no subject
D-Dance? I...you really don't want to dance with me. I'm like, all left feet? It's pretty terrible. Y-You can probably do better. Than me, I mean, not-- I'm sure your dancing is fine, I'm just, uh. ...I'm not much of a dancer.
